A bit of pressure and our boys start to make mistakes, Leopards exposed the chinks in our armor but weren't strong enough. The Lions were watching this battle 👀 and they're going to tear into the chinks. Awesome effort Leopards.
@@Tongandingo1 That kind of generalization isn't an intelligent way of thinking. As a New Zealander l'd also like to know why there isn't wider local coverage of our U19's considering the fact that the RC is over and the AB's have a month off before they embark on the end of year NH tour.
@@teevis3620 Your American English spelling looks a bit odd for a NZer but OK. From the outside looking in , Kiwis tend to display pretentious and self flattering behaviours which neither are warranted inside rugby or just in general. Over hyped people "hermit kingdom" really was the truth said by JK.
I've been watching the school boy rugby for a while and it's so great to watch the standout players from 16, 17 year olds going up the ranks and they now playing in the URC like Roos, Henco v Wyk who was one of the best school rugby centres there was, JH Wessels just a bigger version of Malcom Marx, Moodie etc they were always good to watch while at school level, definately future Boks unless they go overseas but just to see them over the years it's brilliant, I'm surprised actually NZ don't promote their youngsters more.
This match pretty much states how overlooked the talent pool in our smaller unions are. The Leopards put up more of a fight than Western Province and The Sharks.
Bro the population of South Africa 60 million population of New Zealand 5 million! Even the population of your smaller provinces are bigger than our entire country! 😆
@@tawera3164 Rugby is only the third most popular sport in South Africa, and the Leopards represent an area that is about half the population of New Zealand. but whatever floats your boat
@@BeskuitenBroffie - Rugby is the most popular sport in SA with the most crowd attendance, after that is Soccer, but soccer is mostly popular among the black south africans and coming in 3rd is cricket.
That number 12 of NZ Leo Gordon is as tough as they come. The Leopards really struggled to contain him as he always made massive meters forward in contact attracting multiple defenders. That NZ No.8 Taioloa is a beast of a rugby player who also caused massive problems when carrying the ball.Surely he can't be 19!!! Big strong, fast and physical.
Great video. Looked like a fun game to be at. Tons of skill and pace of display by these young men. Lots of passion from the Leopards, you can tell they wanted to win it bad, and of course SA boys still bring the physicality
It may seem trivial but as an All Blacks supporter it is rather odd hearing commentators referring to any other New Zealand rugby team as 'All Blacks' except the team that IS the All Blacks. This is the New Zealand U19 representative team and l don't have a problem with commentators referring to them as such or alternatively the 'Baby Blacks'. Good hit up Leopards. Congrats, great game U19/ Baby Blacks 👏👏👏
@@SCHOOLOFSPORTS hehe I used to get requests from the likes of Greys college for supplements and testosterone boosters. And any kid who wasn’t afraid of the needle would get the good stuff.
Yeah....close doesn't win a trophy....A fact the the AB's have been dining out on for over 100 years....There is a reason they are the most winning sports team in the history of sports- any sport... and it starts from their youth system and the fact that every young boy in NZ wants to be an All Black...
Great defence & set piece from the Leopards great off loading & back line flair from NZ. Pretty much typifies the approaches of both nations. On a given day either style can prevail.
whats all the BS about having to respect any nz/maori haka? why cant any team meet the challenge by walking up close in their faces?? Standing meekly shows weakness not respect; respect for what, to accept intimidation without a response?? altho as we know the haka doesn't always produce the intended results 😂
The Leopards are the provincial team based in SA's Northwest Province. They are based in a town called Potchefstroom, a major student town. They run a rugby academy there (as far a I remember) and that probably explain the good talent in the u19 team.
@@YallNotWhite_YourPINK - Napier Boys High, Christchuch Boys High and St Peters lost 50-0 and 60-0 against all our public under 18 schoolboys. And we always spank your schools in rugby and rest of the world.
Does anyone know why a NZ player didn't get a yellow when leopards were awarded the penalty try? I thought a player is given a yellow when a penalty try is awarded?
All I saw was leopard players coming in with niggle constantly. They were penalized heavily. Offside constantly and youre telling us it's the ab under19 fault. Pull ya head in chump.
Why the big try celebrations when you're so far behind on the scoreboard. Doesn't age well. When you're down by so much, you score a try, you keep your head down and try and do that again, not jump around like a maniac.
Got a question the sharks and western province was their A SIDE TEAM PLAYING AGAINST all blacks and what I'm saying doesn't take how great leopards... Just wondering where the fvck was this leopard side during the craven week more then anything ?
Blacks 11 needs to have more special awareness…. He hogs the ball and misses some golden opportunities to pass on to someone with a better advantage than him.

@@senpaigoku1496 - Hi SenpaiGoku. Before 1994 we were allowed to choose all provincial & national teams on merit. This means for U/12, U/13, U/16, U/18, U/20, U/21, and senior levels we were allowed to choose the best players for all 14 of the provincial unions. This includes the Academy A team as well. (23 players X 7 age groups = 161 players) Then we multiply these 161 players by 14 provincial teams = 2254 of our best players. From these 2254 best players we are not allowed to pick 1127 of them. Now if you take 1127 and divide that by 15, you would see we could make 75 Springbok rugby teams with those players. The Springboks and all provincial players you play now are our 4th choice players. But in normal public schools, the coaches are still allowed to pick on merit. So your new Zealand boys playing against our public schools have the honor of playing against the real Springboks. Most of these boys leave the country at the age of 18 after matric. And the rest end up playing amateur club rugby. Seems like you did not know this. You will also see when we had merit we were leading the stats against New Zealand and the rest of the world. It is only after 1994 that New Zealand and other countries started gaining on the Springboks and the NZ surpassed us after that as well. We do respect NZ and always did and you were always our toughest opposition but in all fairness, you are not playing against our best players at provincial and national levels. The real challenge is playing our public schools where we are still allowed to pick on merit.
Watch the full game?.. NZ was down to 13 players at one stage.. for petty offenses. To win against the Sharks, our boys have to dig deep and win convincingly so the ref can't help
The whole world is over these islanders ruining our games. All they know is fighting. League and union is alot less skilful compared to years ago. Now it's boring this era. No real talent coming through. All media hype or fan hype. Like Samoan fans with their league team. All talk
Highlights the ref constantly allowing leopard players to be constantly offside without recourse. The usual pathetic irb legalized rolling maul by saffa teams. How this is legal when a player is shielded by its own players is beyond rules of sheparding. Other than a dodgy ref saffa youth rugby are right on track.
That's what South Africans have to deal with every time our national side plays, but we're told to shut up and stop complaining. So, shut up and stop complaining.
