Thanks Eric, it was a great year, I enjoyed it very much. Best of luck fixing your layout. If I lived closer, I would certainly volunteer to stop over and help you. Happy New Year to you and your beloved spouse.
Happy New Year to you and Lisa. Hope you guys are feeling better. All the talk of renovations would be good to vid them as well as separate section. Your knowledge and experience would be good to share, especially righting some of the basic start up errors which many will have done. Keep chuffing
Eric your layout looks great. I use to be in a train club called Magic City Railroad Club in Birmingham. Most of the guys have pasted away cause so many of them were older. I'm 70 and a lot of those guys would be in their 80'a and 90's now. In our club we were running O gauge trains. The head guy worked on Lionel trains for about 60 years and many hobby shops had him doing their repairs. I hope one of these days I get a chance to see your layout when you have your openhouse gathering. Happy New Year Eric, Barry & Aming
Eric, you will be very busy next year. Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences with your layout. Hope you and Lisa are feeling much better. Happy New Year.
Thank you for sharing your plans. Happy to hear that your layout is not perfect, and that little problems plague us all. Best of luck with the updates.
The layouts looking great, really come along way since I started watching your channel back in 2015. Glad your gonna fix a lot issues your having and bring the layout up date, that'll be fun to watch videos on that process. Anyway, Eric I hope you and Lisa have a happy new year, can't wait to see what's to come from your channel in 2024! Great video Eric!
Those sound like some great plans for 2024, going to keep yourself very busy! Completely agree, a layout is never done, even when it looks done the maintenance is always ongoing. Looking forward to seeing all the great work / videos.
Hey Eric. Congrats on reaching 70k subscribers. That is really awesome. I have really enjoyed watching all the videos you have made over the years. I was just talking the other day with my 80 yr old Uncle, who got me started in the hobby, about how we both enjoy watching your channel! We both agreed that your RU-vid channel is the best because of your genuine passion for our awesome hobby. Best wishes to both you and Lisa for a Happy and Healthy New Year!!!
Here is wishing you and your wife a great new Year. I saw where she had covid and you were sick. Get better and keep your channel going great. I have learned so much from you it is amazing. Thanks for being the best Train show on the intermit.
I've been watching you on and off since this spring so you get to start off the year with at least one new subscriber. And I do mean start off the year, it's only 1:15 am in 2024.
Happy 2023… I stumbled upon your channel when I was a young teenager back when you were reviewing trains on an unfinished layout. It is awesome seeing how you have progressed as a personality in front of the camera. You’ve built a community and can speak to it! Here’s to many more years. There’s going to be some nostalgia when you come full circle and start to build another layout.
Happy New Year Eric and and Lisa hope you both will be blessed with good health and are able to achieve your goals. Thanks for all the wonderful content. My 82 year old mother and I have been watching your Christmas videos over coffee when she visits for the holidays. We love your layout.
Thankyou for all your wonderful trains Videos they're always great fun 2 watch been following you since the beginning and it's been a fun ride so Happy New Year and hope you have many blessings in the New Year and thanks for being you and your Videos
Happy New Year Eric! Appreciate all your hard work creating all the videos. Love the 8 Days Christmas Bonanza! 2024 is going to be a big year for us replacing switches and track that is worn out as well. I built this layout at our home here 9 years ago. Your right components wear out. Anyway Happy New Year!
I have those same cows on my layout. My dad told me that I was the only one who got cow turds with them for my birthday lol. I had My old train layout since 2006 before me and my family moved 2 years ago. Great layout update Eric! Happy New Year 🎆🎊
See you at 11:00 a.m. Central Standard Time, Eric. Knowing what issues you have helps me understand why it needs fixed, and what's been bugging you. I can't wait to see whatever reviews you release because it helps me keep up with the 3-rail O-scale industry. Knowing what new products are coming out helps me see what I might want to buy in a future catalog should I get said catalog and those products be listed.
Nice bradys limited edition big boy in the background, John is very proud of those lol. All jokes aside, have a happy New Year, Eric! Wishing you a good 2024!
A couple of years ago, I helped my father to remove a hump near the top of the grade on his model railroad. He recently bought a dootlebug that just won't go over this hump. And his railroad, Fall River Line, is more than 40 years old!
I wouldn't wish track issues on anyone, but I have to say: it is comforting knowing that even someone as experienced as you still has problems from time to time. Happy New Year, Eric! - Ryan
Eric many thanks these are such wonderful videos So enjoyable it's great that you're able to have sharing all these wonderful trains and scenery never enough videos great reviews and commentary !! But of course you have to get some Break sometime LOL how did you get the sasquatch miniature I would love to get one how did you get yours?
A layout is not made to be finished !!!! It's the fun part of it . Concerning the lift bridge did you included at the time an automatic "kill switch" or other gizzmo to shut the power a couple of feet on each side of the bridge to prevent a big plunge ?? And Happy New Year always nice to watch your videos !!!
I'm just gonna call it right here. You're obviously starting to get a little tired of your existing layout and you're looking for a change. That''s why you brought up the idea of potentially buying a new house and starting new. Nope, nope, nope. I'm predicting that you'll tear your existing one out before then (buying a new house that is) and start new from the ground up. After all. No one can blame you after slowly building on this one for the past (almost) 20 years. But we all know that you'll build the next one, using all of the knowledge and experience that you've gathered over the years as far as wiring and scenery. We'll all be watching brother. Happy New Year!
Hi Eric, I appreciate the videos you put together and the information that you share. Have you ever done a video that goes into detail on how to double head either steam or diesel locomotives? Maybe I’m overthinking it my concern is damaging an engines motor if not done correctly? Also are there differences to consider between conventional vs DCS power and any power requirements that need to be considered? Thank You
Nice choice of placing Sinclair gas station. What issues do you have on the tracks? Looks like a plan that you well thought through. Nice to show you are human and still learning.
Always seems like problems happen in harder to access areas, lol, got to laugh about it while you are fixing it 🤬. I have an elevated town and a tunnel under it. Finally cut a very large hole so I could “comfortably” fit in there to fix track problems.
With that track that is giving you problems in the back corner. I have a good name for it the ghost tunnel. But that's a idea after you fix it. Because like you said train's do stop working back there so that name will fit. But I'll let you decide if the name will be used.
I am having similar issue with my track - opposite to where my connection is on my loop - my trains will die sometimes… unless commanding higher amps- only with Legacy
Never wanted to be a stickler, but since you mentioned it ;), personally some of the angles you catch seem recycled and stale. I’ve really enjoyed some of the recent footage you have tried from a camera on top of the train. But you can only work with what you have until you get things situated like you mentioned. Looking forward to what you have in store!
