One of the most incredible things about it is the unity around him. He always says "we won", "we made it", "what we achieve". I think that's the explanation of his great strenght. He was never playing alone, he was a family fighting together. So inspiring.

His brother, his friend too. They all saying "we this, we that..". Isn't that a huge lesson! A group effort, a group recognition, a group mentality. A group victory. Did it start with they mom saying "We must be tighter now, it's a full on family pact of connection"? 'Cos then it grew. Anyway, great great tale of achievements all around.

I think it was Kafelnikov that said prime Kuerten would beat prime Nadal. Kuerten career was quite short due to injuries, so it makes little sense to compare the career numbers of the two - especially when you're talking about each in their primes. Kuerten professionalized in 1995, had 3 french open trophies by 2001 and was out of the ATP rankings by 2008. It's hard to say who would win, but Kuerten was as good as anyone during his prime.

At first i found him a little funny to look at and as a Muster fan, i was hoping he couldn't keep up his level of play against Thomas. Boy was i wrong! With each game, i grew more enamored with him, and by the time he got to the final i was cheering for him. Recently i even bought his biography, unfortunately not available in English, only Portuguese and French. I think it should be published in English because he is a very popular player worldwide and his story is inspiring.
