How wonderful to post this video. How wonderful that we are all one in Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament of the Altar. How sad that there are seeds of division here, rather than of joy. What a terrible witness to the faith.
How I wish for our church to go back to this. People in church nowdays are so lost some of them do not even know who they are coming to worship therefore there's no "reverence". to our lord. They act are they going to the theater or supermarket absolutely disrepectful Pray pray and pray for the world is lost even inside the chruches.
Oh Jesus I adore you. Lord have mercy on us and all our seperated brethren. please bring them back into the fold of the community of faith. Forgive all errors and open their hearts to recieve your true and most Holy Spirit into their souls. Thank you Lord Jesus Amen! Thanks for sharing this video. It is serene
Heavenly!I was in the Monastery of Mother Angelica in Alabama some month ago for a visit with my brothers and I felt the spirituality that flow there.Pax.
I've been to the Shrine of The Most Blessed Sacrament, several years ago. It was beautiful. There is so MUCH reverence toward the Blessed Sacrament. I was so moved, that I wept tears of happiness. I also wept because I felt at peace. I felt so much love for the Greatest Treasure the Roman Catholic Church possesses, Jesus HIMSELF, in the Eucharist. Sadly it is lacking in our Diocese of Grand Rapids, Michigan and elsewhere in the world.
In the Hebrew context, the word "memory" or "remebrance" literally means " to make a reality present. And, oh how it is. too bad that so many think that the bible was written in English with little numbers before each verse. Oh what a redemption we have! What a privilege, like the two on the road to Emaus to know him in this most precious Sacrament.
My heart rejoices at seeing this piety and devotion. The novus ordo is a desecration to the Holy Mass, it is an unneccessary and horrid solution to a non existant problem. We MUST return to the Trent Canon of the Mass, and traditional Dogma
As Jesus says in the Good book (Matthew 7: 1-3): "Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured unto you."
It's a pity that this is such an rare event at Novus Ordo parishes that it merits posting on RU-vid. Of course Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament can be found at any chapel of the Society of Saint Pius X. Thanks for posting this.
Deus presente entre nós, Emmanuel, Deus conosco, é maravilhoso o presente que Jesus nos deixou, a Santa Eucaristia, seu Corpo e Sangue. Bendito seja Deus para sempre! Salve Maria!
So, there must be a way that we can get together and let the Bishops of America know that Catholics in this country want to return to the old traditions....maybe we can start a petition or letter campaign....
@MegaFaithalone God bless you and your "knowledge" of the catholic church. We catholics OBVIOUSLY dont know anything about our faith. its amazing how someone out of the church can know so much! its amazing how you treat us with love and respect too! Jesus CLEARLY said "Love thy neighbour, as thyself" true christians would leave us alone move on with our "lies" as you call them and pray for our souls because apparently we're damned. Weird how you guys preach about love, and how God love us all.
Dennis Stewart you are so lucky. So many of my other millennials have died by the wayside, not knowing how real the faith is. Brainwashed by media to never know.... it breaks my heart. Plz anyone who reads this... pray for the souls in purgatory.
That is alot closer to what a church should look like. Return the Latin Mass...please...then move the dinner table and put in a proper altar, facing east. Thank you so very, very much for posting this.
At my parish The Basilica of the immaculate conception we have the Latin mass on sundays and benediction every day at 12 all catholic parishes should be like this. Catholic traditions are for Catholics only non catholics who do catholic traditions should not they chose to leave the catholic church.
@belladona001 You are making the correct choice. I welcome you with open arms to The True Church founded by Our Lord Jesus Christ himself over two thousand years ago. God Bless You!
O salutaris hostia quae caeli pandis ostium bella premunt hostilia da robur, fer auxilium Uni trinoque domino sir sempiterna gloria qui vitam sine termino nobis donet in patri sit sempiterna gloria qui vitam sine termino nobis donet in patria AMEN we sing it every monrining in clas lol
Wow! They pronounce the Latin perfectly! In exposition I as well as many other mess up a little here and there. I suppose it is because monks do this very often and took a few years of Latin.
Actually, the Shrine featured in the video above - Our Lady of the Angels Monastery - is in Hanceville Alabama. Hanceville, while not all that far straight-line distance, is about an hour drive from the EWTN headquarters in Irondale because of the way the roads are laid out.
oh wow this is Beautiful... i'ld love to worship in this church, wats the name? i need to convert to the catholic church soon and ineed y'all prayers, i'v learnt many of the Catholic doctrines, and i think i'v made up my mind to go with right church... the Holy Catholic Church...
Sacred tradition. This is part of our faith...it is truly beautiful. I am sorry you find it to be disrespectful. The English language is derived from Latin, Greek and many other languages. So to think it disrespectful is a lack of understanding of our Catholic history and present day tradition.
Note: The text of this hymn was composed by St. Thomas Aquinas and, along with Tantum Ergo, is strongly associated with Eucharistic Adoration, particularly, the Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. There are variations on the melody. O Salutaris Hostia Quae coeli pandis ostium Bella premunt hostilia Da robur fer auxilium Uni trinoque Domino Sit sempi terna gloria Qui vitam sine termino Nobis donet in patria Amen.
Having lived through the last of the standard Latin Mass & the process of Vatican II , I'm surprised at the lack of understanding of what took place. The Mass didn't suddenly change to the vernacular. It changed bit by bit & for years it was 1/2 English & 1/2 Latin. The 1st to change were the Epistle & Gospel readings. They could be read in the vernacular , but only after having been read (mumbled) in Latin at the proper side of the altar left - Gospel , right - Epistle.
I do hope that your ideas of priests and priesthood would really change. It's too bad that many still think that way of men of faith like this. I do hope that you visit one day one of these places where these men live and see that they don't live like "fat parasites with the money they ransack from the poor victims of the Catholic clergy". They do their share of work...
@toemac73 That's quite observant of you. However, I think the triangle is more representative of the Holy Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. And considering it's a monastery, they are most likely monks, but judging by their garb, not Franciscan monks. Those are very good questions, thanks for asking them.
Its Cor Iesu, caritatis victima, venite adoremus. I think it is part of the litany to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. "Heart of Jesus, victim of love, we adore thee."
It's some weird form of the litany of the Sacred Heart. It's actually saying "Cor Iesu", I made the same mistake in looking for it. However, they seem to be doing a variation from the standard that is availible online, when you google "litany of the Sacred Heart" so I'm not sure.
Very solemn and very beautiful, this is in latin isn't it. I thought that the priest didn't touch the Monstrance with bare hands, but wears a vestment to cover his hands, if I am wrong I apologise ?
If you were to uncover a few stones like I did, you'd find that "Truth" which you claim exists (you're one step ahead of the gang just by acknowledging its existence). If you're genuinely interested in the Truth, check out fisheaters [dot] com and take their "Challenge to Protestants." You'll be glad you did.
I grew up as an Anglican. Even the English communion service was more reverent than many a Catholic Mass. It's just horrible that the Anglicans left the Church. I wonder if there's any way they could come back ........
Why separate Yourselves into Trads? In the end, doesnt it come down to us being a One Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church? I know some people have preferences but cant we respect other "types" and not bring up Vatican2 and what it did to injure 1 particular persons faith and saying that we have a lack of reverence? Also lets not say "what the church is coming to" were getting stronger in faith and even if you try to go back to old ways it wont matter because we will still be bonded under Christ.
I'm adding to what I just typed .....one of the great popes of history was John XXIII , who began Vatican II. It covered a tremendous amount of things besides the mass. Read up on it. One example was a review of the official list of saints, because it was well established that many had never existed except in myth & were eliminated. One , was St. Philomena. Off topic : some one mentioned the Dies Irae . The most common music used with it is regarded as being the most eery piece of music written
@Ninflo1 yet here you are saying God will throw all the catholics into hell???? what the heck? if God truly loves us he would hear our plead in the CATHOLIC mass "Look not on our sins but on the faith of the church". God doesnt go around saying "oh my hes a catholic, throw him in Hell this instant!" or "Oh my a buddhist, throw him in hell!" NO he looks at us all equally, no matter what race, religion, gender etc. The only thing i could posibly think of that would make God dislike us is being
God is the master of reality. Any worship of him, especially as direct as this, certainly falls into God's "reality". Should God cater to your reality? Trying to fit God into one's own little box we call reality relates to Satan's temptation to Christ to fling himself off the top of the temple with the assurance God would submit to the little experiment.
The latin mass is the most reverend way to adore our Lord all that new jazz it is just disrespectful and don't even the Pope celebrate the mass like that. So, if you really are a faithful catholic loyal and true you must OBEY and follow the "Vicar of Christ". Who is better than him to show us the way to Christ? Not the "new age" Charistmatic.
It's a pain that some people can't respect other people's belief. Come on, yeah many people might be leaving the Catholic Church but a lot more is embraced by it. Why don't Christians just unite and work all together, and not bully each other (or more appropriately, bully the much 'stronger'). And please dont call Latin "pig", latin speakers dont call English "boar"...
@kiwichristian2009 That's really not an argument as regards what one should believe! To err is human, to forgive, divine. Your other posts are much more telling!
Well, I'm not bald YET, but I do intend to bake bread one of these days--nothing like it, fresh-baked by your own hands! Okay, so you're not an ignoramous, although a university degree doesn't mean much these days..... However, your comments betray ignorance of the Catholic faith.
What is a "traditionalist" Catholic anyway. And talk about your "banter". At the cacophony of the Novo Ordo Mass I've heard the result of baseball games; what restaurants had recently opened and scores of other unrelated non-religious talk while Mass was going on. I do not find that disrespect occurring at Tridentine Masses. I travel two hours to pray the Latin Mass. You sound disconsolate. Reconciliation should help.
