I find it strange that so many comments are fixating on the group members' sexual orientation but ignore the fact that these boys were being plied with drugs and alcohol and were being sexually abused by men who maintained the band (group owner Edguardo Diaz was just one of the men accused by multiple band members).
All this questions are funny to me especially that after 30 years 2 of them are gay, and the other 2 were caught doing drugs and kicked out of the group.
I personally know Ruben and those drugs you talk about were planted on them by management. They wanted to kick them out because they didn't like how Menudo music was turning to more Rock. There is so much more to it than what the public knows & it breaks my heart that all people remember about Ruben (and Sergio) is how they were kicked out. Both are amazing singers & performers to this day. The music industry is hard,even if you are already in it.

In the early days of the group, any member who had either turned 16 years old (Ricky did so on December 24, 1987), grew facial hair, grew too tall or his voice broke (any or all of these traits, whichever came to him first), he was out of the band and replaced with a much younger member.

Angelo is bisexual, not gay. He loves women as much as he loves men. Ruben is not gay. Sergio doesn’t seem to be gay but he chooses to maintain his privacy so that means it’s none of anyone’s business. Why make assumptions about people’s sexuality? They were kids in a popular group and were told how to act and what to say. They didn’t even have a chance to know who they were as people yet. You can’t take what they said as part of a tightly manufactured group that is all about image and keeping the girls wanting more of them and then draw conclusions about who they are or would become as people. Angelo has said many times that they told them what to say and controlled every aspect of their lives. They were used and exploited and they were sexualized as children. They had a lot of mixed messages and confusion to deal with.

My answer to the question, do you all have girlfriends, would be, no because it's pretty hard to have a girlfriend when we are all to busy being gay. Obviously not what they would want to hear in the audience.
