Red Roses captain Sarah Hunter returns to captain the side after a prolonged injury, the squad take on Italy in the Women's Six Nations and rotate the team for the match.
Awesome stuff by the Red Roses. I have been an England fan for 50 years and couldn't be any prouder since I discovered them. I hope the extra exposure and the stand alone TV etc. will have the massive impact on the expansion of the game of rugby as played by women. It is, after all, just one game - but the girls are playing it better at the moment - Go Roses!!
One thing I was glad to see was the off loads while running forwards at speed. It's what our biggest rivals the Kiwis are good at. It keeps the momentum of the moves going to the try line. It's hard for the opponents to stop, especially when it's done together with quick ball distribution from a good scrum half who can see everything and spot the little gaps etc around them.
so proud of our Ladies... one observation is that we need more backs who can recognise line-breaking runs, similar to Scarret, who are willing to run at breakneck speed
Good video but the talk is of Doncaster and Flog it!! Utter disgrace and shameful to have the 1 ranked team in the world playing at such an inappropriate venue. As for the BBC, no words to describe their lack of vision and integrity.
I agree, although previous to covid 1 of the reasons they were playing at different venues was to sell the product of women;s rugby across the country, to access as many family's and especially young girls as possible
@@1Molehill Yes, your right that one of the reasons they were playing in different venues across the country was to “ spread the word “ and attract more ladies to take an interest into rugby. It’s a theory that I don’t fully agree with but this time Twickenham was empty as was every ground . How many other all female sporting teams in England are ranked 1 in the world?? Just seems so wrong to treat this team this way.
Like you though I do have an issue over twickenham for the Roses. More often than not, they get relegated to the Stoop, & whilst that is a great ground, They should be in Twickenham like the boys
@@jonchess8844 Also how many English male teams are ranked as as high as the Red Roses - none. Playing at small grounds like Doncaster, Bedford and even Exeter , with their associated access difficulties, does not really encourage the support that they deserve. I went to Pau last year to support the RRs as one of a near capacity crowd (17,000) - the match was televised on French terrestrial TV . The RFU, ITV and BBC have a long way to go.
