Episode 175 - Cz 4 Oak monolith on table top - potting edges, grinding and varnishing / Oak monolith on the table top - potting edges, grinding and varnishing.
Sometimes it is so that it is not possible to fill the cracks at the edges of the board when pouring the entire surface. In this situation, the best way is to put the board on the edge and flood the cavities. Unfortunately, it takes several days. After saving the situation, I start sanding and preparing the bottom surface of the monolith for painting. I use ICA polyurethane varnish for painting. After curing the varnish, I drill holes for foot joints to avoid turning the top on the varnished surface. After turning the top, I sand the surface for P400 gradation and transport the top on fat300 to the paint shop. After cleaning and dedusting the whole, I apply the first coat of varnish.
