I finally gave these two new OAK flavours a go over the weekend, and I have too say, without a doubt this milk was my favourite over the other. I would have to say this is probably due to the fact I do not like cherry flavouring (or cherry ripe), and as such prefer the caramel. Very intrigued by the difference in yours and my opinion on this milk. As I definitely like it, whereas you clearly could take it or leave it. Nevertheless, another excellent review !
well that's pretty interesting! I have heard other people don't like the cherry ripe as much so I don't think you're alone in that. I think maybe because I like cherry ripe (I had also coincedentalyl been craving them that day as I saw some and hadn't had any in months) so I was a little extra generous. I still stand by it though, I really liked that milk and as always its a subjective opinion so we can't always align on these things :P thanks as always Seb :)
Me and Seb got a chance to try these over the weekend. I wasn't a massive fan of either - but I am not a cherry person at all, so for sure did not enjoy that sadly. it's always interesting to see how some people react differently, it really goes to show how subjective flavour really is. My mum didn't really like Dan's because it was too sweet- which I can agree with, if I wasn't in the mood for a sweet flavour like that I probably wouldn't be as positive about it either. gday mate, been away with work for yonks, so plenty to catch up on, While driving back to civilisation, passed through Meekatharra and to my surprise found this at a servo. Think you've been a bit harsh on it, I highly rate and it is my go to at present. Reminiscent of the Bickford's Violet Crumble to me but cheaper and more accessible. Thought I would flag we still have Oak's eggnog available here and its mid-May, so they must make it all year round. Keep up the good content.
Hey Craig good to see you back, I think you may be right- it seems its struck a better cord with a few commenters, but as for me, I just didn't really care for it. I had a few sips and tried going back to it to see if my opinion would change but, it just didn't grow on me. I will note those strengths over the VC, as I completely agree. That's so strange, I don't think I have ever seen it here same with banana by OAK. Big M has a flavour called 'egg flip' which I guess is the only direct contempory. The Norco Creme Brulee, although not directly, is pretty similar too and I really liked that one.
I don't think its impossible to see it happen but doing a little research I'm not sure when / if we ever would. Turns out Streets Icecream is owned by Unilever- which as far as I know don't have any real involvement in the current and past flavoured milk market. Golden Gaytime has done plenty of brand crossovers so we can only hope it happens one day
