I had the first gen and its the most comfortable boot ever. The issued boots killed my feet and back standing in the MRAP turret after just 4 hours but after these even after a 12 hour mission I was fine. This sounds weird but they were a definite moral booster, when I would get dressed in the morning I always got joy and a warm comforting feeling when putting them on.
I absolutely LOVED the first ones! Had two pair while I was in Iraq. Hated the fact that they changed the design but still ordered them. I wanted to hate them but they grew on me. Super light and super comfortable. I ended up cutting the heel cup out which put these boots over the edge! I started wearing wool socks opposed to my issued ones. I think Oakley boots will be my Go-To boots from now on, even in the winter!
I heard these weigh 9 or 10 oz. That's incredibly lightweight. I have the Nike SFBs and I thought they were light at 15oz. Hey do these Oakley boots fit true to size? I really like these. Thanks
Been a few years since you did this video you should do an update video on this boot not a lot of videos on it and the reviews are pretty wishy-washy some people say it's a great boot some people say it sucks I would like to know what your personal opinion is on this boot I'm interested in the boot I'd like to know true reviews...
Shoes Need to have more than just Regular AA Width for Narrow Foot. I'm a Medium-Wide B and they are killing my foot. After one day of wearing them, I have Huge Buldging Corn on the front corner side of Big Toes and the front of my toes feeling pinched in... Any Suggestions on making them Wider, other than buying a bigger Shoe....?
Had two pairs of these boots and i really liked them but now i can’t find a pair that is true to size.I wear a size 13 and they seem to be off a half size.And since they don’t make a 13.5 I’ve switched to the Rocky C4T
Yeah the original Made in America SI boot was incredible.. my original pair from 2003 or 4 only just bit the big one late last year.. meanwhile I've had 2 other SI boots which barely lasted a year..
I did. The stitching point where the heel cup meets the canvas is exposed triple stitching right on the heel = blisters. Additionally, the entire heel cup in inexplicably lined with the same rough canvas rather than soft leather. I got blisters in 5 minutes.
I have both in 13. The Assault 2 is more narrow. The original fit my feel perfectly. I’ve only worn the new ones once in the month I’ve had them. The length was true but they’re narrow enough to make my feet hurt like hell after just a few hours. The width is similar to New Balance so if you wear regular width with those then these should fit you well. If not I suggest ordering them in wide.
@@emahaffey2981 Dang, I might not be able to wear them cuz I do have wider feet n I don’t think they make these in wide :/ Thank you for the info though! Maybe I can look for the original ones
