With conventional sunglass lenses, dull colors mean less contrast, and that makes it more difficult to track a ball in the sky or on the field. jmetz Nope. It’s a part of baseball etiquette. Unwritten rule if you will. You can get up there with prescription glasses if you want (ie Tyler clippard, alek manoa) but don’t tell me you’re going to get the hell up there and pitch with tinted oaks buddy.

@@tmpacificnet ...what do you mean "nope". Again, you can't cite the rule, I've asked you twice, but I know why because THERE ISN'T a rule against sunglasses. AND, no one said we were talking about tinted Oakley's "buddy". There is not a rule in any code that restricts a pitcher from wearing sunglasses. Kody Hiles comment says pitchers aren't allowed to wear sunglasses, and that my friend, is NOT TRUE in any code. And, to further discuss your point, ...it's not "unwritten rule" ....however, if anyone determines or feels sunglasses are a distraction, then they must be taken off, but one last time, there is no rule restricting sunglasses on a pitcher.

So which Oakley PRISM lenses are better for baseball HITTERS on bright sunny baseball day games? The Prism Baseball INFIELD or OUTFIELD lenses? I note that the OUTFIELD lenses look to enhance contrast between the white baseball and the blue sky better; and that the INFIELD do it for grass/green and baseball and also allow 10% more light to transmit... The Oakley Prism GOLF lenses seem to do the same as the Prism INFIELD but allow an extra 20% of light transmission over the Prism OUTFIELD lenses. I sure would like to see a test between these three... What is amazing is that you get all of these these in the Oakley True Digital Prescription lenses - if you pick the Flak 2.0 XL Oakley frame which are very cool...

depends are you a power hitter 3,4,5 or a contact hitter 1,2 or 6+ if your a power hitter your focusing on the outfield so you would choose prizm outfield and if you were a contact hitter prizm infield because your focusing on the infield and if your 6+ just prizm field because your focusing on everywhere infield and outfield.

I just ordered direct from Oakley RX lens "PRIZM Field" for baseball, and the order build form I just got today says "TORCH IRIDIUM MIR W/BS PAR PLYNPLR PRZ MGNTA BB" My question is, did they make the right lens? No where on the form does it say PRIZM FIELD, it says TORCH IRIDIUM... Are these the same? Please let me know if I should give customer service a call?

you don't need them. The pitcher's frame on the mound blocks any possible directed sunlight to your eyes. If I see my catcher with Oakleys I'm aiming for his head.
