damn, UK in the late eighties to nineties seem like a frickin awesome place and time to be alive.

People can say anything they like about this album, nearly 30 years on it's still up there as one of the best. Pure, unashamed, in your face rock n roll. Me and my mates were lucky to have been bang on the right age when this music was around, and I'm pretty confident saying all of us still find our way back to it quite often. What a time, what a band, what an album.

Liam’s vocal on the basement demo of I am the Walrus is simply unbelievable- off the scale. If ever a time machine was needed to be invented it’s now, take us back.

An oasis reunion would literally Stop The Clocks, definitely. Maybe.

I saw this band in a small venue in Memphis Tennessee in 1995, with maybe 100 people there. They blew me away. I was hooked every sense.

Nevermind by Nirvana captured the mood of 90s America, Definitely Maybe captured the mood of 90s Britain

i grew up working class in Australia, i didn't find this album until I was 19 in 2004. After this I got into The Beatles and rest is history I guess. Thanks Oasis.

What made Oasis special from all other bands were the brothers, their love hate relationship for each other, the Yin and Yang, the heart and soul, their humble working class beginning the personality and attitude their positive outlook in life which related to every boy and girl in britian recognising them as one of their own. They knew each others strengths and weaknesses what bonded them during some difficult hardship in times still continuing, for a moment through the love of music they became one with fans, bringing biggest gathering of people from every corner of the UK to have the best most joyful happiest time in their lives. Writing and singing most beautiful anthems with deep insightful, purest and touching lyrics that's still making huge impact to our every day lives to this day. The unique relationship between us fans and oasis with real feeling and passion made them stronger and untouchable and becoming one of the greatest most influential band changing a generation. The same relationship what raised them high eventually also lead to the downfall creating sorrow and pain between them and us all. I know for sure, deep down they still love and care about each other (well they blood after all). Even after all that the music and the legacy they created will never ever be forgotten for years to come and will go down in history. ♥️✌️

Their music is ageless.

It was recorded and released 25 years ago and it’s so fresh it sounds like it came out yesterday. That’s the mark of greatness. It’s always in the top 10 albums of all time and it deserves to be. Because it’s absolutely fucking brilliant. It’s one of those once in a generation great albums.

Slide Away is one of the greatest song ever written

Slide away is the best song they ever did. Liam never recorded a better vocal. There was none of the sunshiiiiiiinnnnneee parody of his singing now. It was beautiful and for me the best chorus in any song ever. Takes me right back to my youth

Liam's voice and presence really made the music alive, its unique and I don't get why some people are trying to dismiss its worth and part in oasis' success, if you listen to noel's demo vers of supersonic stand by me etc you understand it could never had reached this level of perfectness with someone else, both have their own talent and it's enough of a shame their rivalry made them both lose it for people to take sides now

The most important thing about this for me is the part about Liam's voice. It made the sound of Oasis. No matter how much musical and song writing genius Noel possesses (which is huge), that translation into an unforgettable, emotional experience for us needy people belongs to Liam Gallagher alone. So many classic albums turning 25 at the moment. I was 17 in 1994 and Definitely Maybe came out two weeks before I started university. An amazing time to be that age. When albums were an event rather than just going online and listening to any old shite.

Best 1st album release of any band in my opinion. I was lucky enough to see them at knebworth in 1996 when they broke all records and played to the biggest crowd in British history. Certainly the most influential band of my childhood.

The best song on the album is bring it on down IMO. That drum bit at the beginning is brutal. I love all their proper heavy stuff like headshrinker, fade away and tunes like that.

Oasis where not just a brilliant band they moved a generation and took everybody else with them... 94 playing in small venues and 2 years later playing Knebworth... Thats the power of these guys... They will definitely live forever with the millions of fans they took along for the ride... Legends

It's nice to see Mani being so nice to Tony, that probably felt pretty good and validating, especially with no acknowledgement from Liam or Bonehead and mostly negative words from the rest

I've known of the Oasis since I was a kid in the late 90's but, It wasn't until 2019 on a trip to Ireland out of all places that I ended up becoming obsessed with their first two albums... Some guy covered "Don't Look Back in Anger" in a pub, and my life was changed

Wrote the lyrics to Supersonic in a half an hour... Noel's genius is unmatched.

30:33 cant agree more the pace of Supersonic is perfect. any slower it would drag on and the faster live version just sounds rushed after hearing the studio version

Was at my folks cooking out years ago. I can't remember why but I was watching this documentary while I was cooking and l was absolutely blown away by what I was hearing so l threw on the album and was sucked in and immediately dumbfounded by what I heard! Phenomenal stuff truly

Just watched a 240p quality version of this only to find a 480p version right here that is actually 7 minutes longer.

Noel's tunes are so good, the mix doesn't matter. You can play Live Forver on a cheap guitar, so long as it's in tune, it sounds amazing.

Bought this the day it came out and is Definitely the greatest debut album, just. From the opening track through to the majestic Slide Away, best vocal Liam has done, maybe Cast no Shadow. Columbia is mad as a box of frogs!! There has not been a band since to make that sort of impact in such a short space of time. Fact folks, The Libertines, no. Coldplay, no. Name a band since people
