Nobody can do a Neil Young song like Neil does. And I've never been much of an Oasis fan. But this is, by far, the best Neil Young cover I've ever heard!

A cover is supposed to be an artists take on the original..This is a great cover by a great band! The Original is supreme and shouldnt be compared..instead comment on the quality of the cover! We need bands like Oasis who can bring back RockNRoll for generations who have no clue of the great music that ruled the 60's and 70's and are just immersed in all this popshit commercial music!

Oasis' version misses the harrowing harmonica. Neil also originated a 'grunge' sound before grunge was even a term. There's no comparison that Neil Young wins here, but Oasis' version is still fantastic!
Yet without Neil Young's song, Oasis wouldn't have a version to perform. But I doubt either of us will convince the other here, so good evening, and all the best.
Like it when Noel shows his great taste in music but i bet almost no one in the crowd have ever listened to Neil Young. "BETTER TO BURN OUT THAN FADE AWAY" is one of the greatest lines in any song ever

I love this cause. I'm a Canadian songwriter, and Noel is my biggest influence. And heres Noel a UK songwriter, doing a cover of one of his influences, a Canadian songwriter. I hope one day to cover one of Noels tunes and do it the same justice. Rock on Noel
I'm a huge fan of Neil Young and a huge fan of Oasis. Noel and the boys did a great job. Rather surprised that they pulled it off so well, and I'm happy they did!
Glimmers of Noel the front man and premonitions of things to come. This version is good, but the fact that they chose to cover it ... that's genius. "Better to burn out than to fade away..." Neil Young wrote it in 1979, but it might as well have been about Oasis 30 years later.

Noel actually smashes this. Yeah it's a slightly different take on the original, but Noel is a Huge Young fan and it's with complete homage, You can tell he cared about this cover Fucking awesome and you can see how much he loves it!

great cover, but I hate it when people are all like "eeh so much better than the original." Well of course any talented band like Oasis will be able to add their own spin to an already great song and it'll sound amazing. 90% of the work has already been done. Anyway, it has a completely different feel to it than Neil's. my personal favorite is Neil's "out of the blue" version (or whichever one is acoustic). No band would be able to improve on that version or have as much feel.

this is how a mate of mine got into neil young.when i played him the original he still preferred the oasis version but after a while he was asking to borrow a few albums off me.we have seen neil young together twice now and both times were the gigs of our lives...

Went to Murryfield for this tour and they were bloody fantastic. Was a great gig and so glad I went..even if I did get jumped on outside the stadium by a load of Newcastle fans for wearing a Sunderland shirt! One of the best I went too
