Paul and Ringo love 'em, George didn't like 'em. If I had to guess I'd say he would've liked them but he wouldn't have been a fan of Liam. Liam also probably wouldn't have turned out the same had Lennon not been dead.
boondoxroxsox George was becoming a grumpy old man in the 90s, and said that he didn't like Liam's manners, but he liked Noel and thought he should sack Liam! I think John would have enjoyed Liam's adoration. Lennon was pretty insecure, with all his success and tough guy image, and enjoyed his musician peers' admiration. He was very nice to Elton John, for instance. I think Lennon would have been pleased to be so influential in the 90s.
Fer Abra You're very right about George. He got the biggest ego after the Beatles break-up. Ironic, given his stance about not focussing on materialism and whatnot.
boondoxroxsox George and his "non-materialism" is very funny, considering where he lived. His Frian Park mansion has to be the biggest any Beatle ever had.A veritable palace. He used to live in tax haven Switzerland to pay as little taxes as he could. He didn't write Taxman by chance, the guy was worried about taxes! you can't get more materialistic than that. John's "imagine no possesions" is another kettle of fish. In the context of the song it works. He says he would really like a world where possesions, religion, etc, are not important.
Fer Abra Yeah. I get that, being a Beatle with all that money, it would be hard to turn down such luxuries, but I know they'd all prefer a world where it didn't matter what you had.
I like the album version, but this version catapults me into a beautiful summer afternoon.I am a though boy but this version just makes me cry out of my happiness (:
This is just the author's version. An author's version is always more felt and personal than an interpration by everyone. I think for this reason this version touches more than the published one.
Some might say that sunshine follows thunder Would you tell it to the man who cannot shine Some might say that we should never ponder On our thoughts today cos they will sway over time Some might say we will find a brighter day Some might say we will find a brighter day Cos I've been standing at the station In need of education in the rain You made no preparation for my reputation once again The sink is full of fishes She's got dirty dishes on the brain It was overflowing gently but it's all elementary my friend Some might say they don't believe in heaven Go and tell it to the man who lives in hell Some might say you take what you've been given If you don't get yours I won't take mine as well Some might say we will find a brighter day Some might say we will find a brighter day Standing at the station In need of education in the rain You made no preparation for my reputation once again The sink is full of fishes She's got dirty dishes on the brain And my scratches itching itching in the kitchen once again Some might say...Some might say... Some might say ... Some might say....
This is sublime (didn't want to use the word 'beautiful'). It would be fitting being played over a montage of video clips as a term of endearment of someone's life. Noel is extremely special
To all the people that wish there were bands today bringing out raw rock & roll, check out INSQUIRED - COME ALIVE They are doing there bit to RESURRECT ROCK & ROLL!!! Do your bit and show your support! Especially for the LOCAL BANDS.
There are certain Oasis songs Noel shouldn't go nowhere near as they belong and suits only Liam. This has to be one of them but I also absolutely love Noel's beautiful version really warms your heart.
