Liam’s vocal can encourage people and that is the differentiate point from anybody else. That is from Liam’s character or his talent, I don’t know but this is just brilliant, biblical I should say.
I just found this song less than a week ago. Can't stop listening to it. And now I'm listening to this banger with Liam on vocals? Can we just inject his powerful voice on this song directly into my veins?
Lyric: What I said, I said to her "I'm alive when you walk that way" Can you hear what I can hear? It's the sound of a brand new day I met her down the disco in a beat-up car She was burning down the road She looked just like a star in a jaguar but I need to lighten her load Because you might Think you're gonna cry It will be all right Step out tonight You might Think you're gonna cry It will be all right Step out tonight What I said, I said to her "I'm alive when you walk that way" Can you hear what I can hear? Liam almost definitely couldn't have consistently pulled it off live. The entire vocal is at the very, very top of his range. That may have been the reason for him not getting the final lead vocal. And hey, can't blame Noel; maybe Liam gave it a shot and decided it didn't suit him or he didn't want to do it live. Who knows. Personally, I'd have let him do it for the studio version and then drop the key when playing it live, but some people are stubborn with changing keys, thinking it's cheap and you can't live up to your recordings or some stupid shit. Oasis didn't start regularly lowering the key of some songs until the early aughts, I believe.
I LOVE Noel's vox - it's like a cello or something and he does GREAT harmonies - but on Step Out he sounded strained and I was not long ago wondering how it woulda sounded with Liam...
At this time in the 90’s liams voice was miles better than pretty much anyone. Noels version is good but a crappy Liam cut over the instrumental slaps noels version for fun. Noel on backing vocals would take this track over the top
What she said 그녀는 내게 She said to me 말했었지 Take me high on a mountain side 높은 산에 가고 싶다고 She was dressed up in leopard skin 호피를 입은 모습이었지만 And her soul would never be denied 누구도 그녀의 영혼을 비웃진 못할거야 I met her down the disco in a beat up car 디스코가 울려퍼지는 낡은 차 안에서 She was burning down the road 그녀와 난 도로 위를 질주했지 She looked just like a star in a Jaguar 그녀는 별처럼 빛나고 있었지만 She needs to lighten her load 마음만은 무거워 보였어 And when you might 언젠가 네게 Think you're gonna cry 울고 싶어지는 날이 오겠지 It will be all right 하지만 다 잘 될거야 Step out tonight 오늘만큼은 잊어 What I said 난 그녀에게 I said to her 말했지 I'm alive when you walk that way 너의 길에 내가 함께할 거라고 Can you hear what I can hear? 이 소리가 너에게도 들리니? It's the sound of a brand new day 새로운 시작을 알리는 멜로디 She met me down a disco in a beat up car 디스코가 울려퍼지는 낡은 차에 그녀를 태우고 I was burning down the road 난 도로 위를 질주했지 I can be a star in a Jaguar 이 차 안에서만큼은 난 스타야 I need to lighten my load 모든 걸 잊어버리자 Because Well my whole life been sinking in the water 지친 내 삶은 물 속으로 가라앉아 버렸어 I need a shipment of your sweet lip tonight 난 이제 너의 달콤한 입술이 필요해
Ah, I recognise the chorus. I'd forgotten about this song. I don't think I'll be forgetting this for a while. Liam really is like THE INSTRUMENT any band could use to make there song THE SONG.
@@bacon_boyalex488 Yes, the attack leaves no comparison. This is a rock singer doing this song justice in a way Noels voice simply can not deliver it in this way top to bottom In his Prime LG is untouchable and the greatest RnR voice
This would be a welcome and unusual addition to Liam's live set if he could work out a decent vocal on it. This and his version of Don't Look Back In Anger added for Hampden and Knebworth please👍😁 Oh, and if Bonehead and the band could start with Swamp Song, that would be great😆 Wonder if Guigs would come back for a tune or three.....
The cig in ear, I bet he copied that from Dave Lister from Red Dwarf as apparently Liam and his bro's were huge fans of that show. Lister would put his cig in his ear to eat or play a pool shot.
because the version you are listening to has been digitally altered with software. when Liam recorded his vocals they had to slow the tape machine down half a semitone. he couldnt sing the chorus and hit the high A note. Noel sang it with ease. playing it live in a different tuning was more hassle than it was worth so Noel sang it.
Liam is the the sharp to Noel's smooth. Liam crushes the heavier Oasis songs and Noel is perfect for the acoustic and softer songs but both can do each.
@@badgasaurus4211 I agree. Liam is the voice. Noel was the force behind the actual music. Both of them together is unstoppable. The voice is an instrument and can be just as important to the songwriting and music. Oasis would not have been as successful if it was Noel singing all the songs from the start. Liam made those songs with his voice.
@@badgasaurus4211 Eh, disagreed. I don't think Half The World Away would be as good if Liam sang it. Same goes for Little By Little and I actually think Married With Children is kinda eh. This song has Liam written all over it, though.
This just proves at the amount of songs Noel sang around late 90s/early 2000s that Liam would've smashed. All those shit Noel sang B-sides from the SOTSOG/HC that Liam would've elevated.
As great a writer as Noel was, he should've let Liam sing all the songs. Liam's version of Lord Dont Slow Me Down is so good. DLBIA would have been better with LG on vox too.
Ridiculous. Noel's vocals have stood the test of time. This song was suited for Liam, but he couldn't connect with the songs like The Masterplan, DLBIA, Little By Little ect
@@shaunmcnally3064 Noel suited the acoustic whimsical stuff well on B sides and a few great album tracks. He got way out of his lane with his ego as time went on and sang way too many songs, that Liam could have sung far better. In the end it was like half and half, and when you have one of the greatest rock and roll singers of all time you just don't do that....unless you're a prick like Noel.
Liam sound-wise in his prime, absolutely. But I would much rather have Noel’s singing voice, he had a very wide range, sang naturally, and his voice gets better and better. Liam’s is fine today, but years ago it really went downhill.
@@badgasaurus4211 They started playing it live in 2000, they played it with Noel on lead vox at Wembley Stadium, it's on the double-CD version of Familiar to Millions.
Where did it all go wrong music video. Video showed him joking around with a reporter while Noel was singing. Sunday morning call was based on one flew over the cuckoo’s nest with Liam pretending to play piano.
@@badgasaurus4211 great songs. Stay young is in my top 3..but those songs have a specific singer. I’ve never heard of anybody asking where’s Noel’s version of stay young. The footage of Liam singing step out created the buzz for it. Therefore fans want to know or hear his version. Same thing would happen if footage/audio came out if Liam sang the master plan..that’s all I’m saying. Not sure why you’d debate the demand for Liam’s step out
@@rycam418418 So we’ve both completely misunderstood each other. I was specifically responding to you saying ‘could be why Noel sang it’ and was providing a counter argument. I think Noel sung it for ego reasons. I didn’t realise you specifically wanted a list of Noel sung songs that should have been sung by Liam. Liam should have sung Step Out, I agree. Same with Lord Don’t Slow Me Down, and also Sad Song, basically any song where there is proof of Liam tackling it. But to address what you really wanted to know, I’d say the song people want to hear Liam’s take on the most is Don’t Look Back In Anger.
It was probably for the best this song wasn't on the final mass release for WTS. It's got a Be Here Now vibe, doesn't feel like it fits the theme of the record. It's a good song it just doesn't have the vibe.
@@bandwagon7177 oh i know. It just reminded me of that RU-vid short where someone one posted Liam singing and it sounded like he was in the shower. It cracked me up and this reminded me of that short! I will take this song with Liam on vocals any way i can get it!
