Good to see everyone returning home and my Father-In-Law, at almost 97, leading the way back to the reunion...Way to go, TDB!

I too have roots on the "sout-side" . It was always lovingly called that. All residents were "sout -siders". It was an honor. Why? Because the people of the South Side cared for each other and had strong family values. If anyone in the neighborhood was misbehaving, any adult or parent was responsible to rein them in. My mom was raised there and no matter where she moved, she would always say "I'm a sout-sider." I worked in ICU at Mercy Hospital and the love and care was unconditional. May this return and spread . Bonus, the traditional food is the best.

As an employee of The National Archives and Records Administration I am looking forward this historic Obama Library, Museum and Foundation. Who knows I may even have the oppertunity to be selected to work at this location. ;-)

How far down does the Southside of Chicago goes ? Do try and put it near a Amtrak station which the City of New Orleans uses. Where maybe Barrack might commission a railroad passenger car or two to be a museum on wheels. And they can load it and unload it with ease on their own platform, on their own rail spur.

It's interesting that a north side bakery was used as a representative business for this video. Off the top of my head, I can think of at least 3 south side bakeries w/at least one of them in Hyde Pk. And were the Hispanic people on the southeast side? Nevertheless, it's great that the Library and its accouterments will be in my old neighborhood. I hope they think hard about selecting Washington Park rather than Jackson Park. The reason is that JP already has the MSI, 57th St. Beach and other enhancements. Washington Park was one of the best parks in the city in its day, and there's room for it. That school that was built in the park years ago can now become the great institution someone saw when they stuck it in the middle of the park. President Obama, I hope you choose Washington Park. Jackson is already full.

why not put the library on the west side? They could use the economic boost to revitalize those areas.
