Love the brooch story, what a beautiful gesture from the QUEEN & Michelle ,also the girls getting a ride in the golden carriage ,sounds like a cinderella moment ,so glad they had that experience they have got that precious memory of The QUEENS KINDNESS SHOWN TO THEM
I heard Michelle let Hunter touch the Stick and Stones.. I guess people are forgetting all the racism Obama caused, corruption, suppression of liberties, and zero economic success.. Some people have low intellect or just zero intellectual honesty... Narrative run their lies... Denile is not just a river in Egypt...
I trust you mean the President and First Lady, albeit former, the annals of history will properly record them as such. By the way, the late monarch is also a former because she's deceased. So if she's the queen, please address them properly.
@@sandraatkins2539 Relax - there was no disrespect intended in the meaning of that comment - it was a gracious thing to say so let's take it for it's meaning and not split hairs. Let's try to be positive and stop trying looking for hateful ways things to say stuff in a negative way. Try to be nice.
I don’t recall ever seeing The Queen delight in the company of foreign visitors more than she did with the Obamas. She absolutely lit up in their company, so it is no surprise that she did this for Michelle and their daughters ❤️
She loved Reagan too. They went riding and she spent time with him his California ranch. Apparently George W Bush and Laura stayed there a few days. She was always gracious.
President Obama was and remains so articulate and thoughtful speaking individual and his tribute to HER MAJESTY was so elegant. It is clear why she took a shine to you and your family.
Thank you President Obama, for such kind words, and two beautiful stories that shows a caring, personal side to the Queen. I enjoyed the part of his daughters getting a chance to experience being "Princesses" with a ride in the golden carriage around Buckingham Palace. A memory of a lifetime! 😍 Just hearing him speak so lovingly of her Majesty, brought tears to my eyes. 😢
Amazing description of how really Queen Elizabeth was in reality and how thoughtful, considerate and respectful figure to UK and the world. Truly Queen in every aspect and she will be strongly missed may her soul Rest In Peace..
@@rosekimbeng9365 Wait a minute ? ... I thought she was a racist ??? Obama disagrees with Meghan? Cancel this guy !!! Why should only Piers morgan lose his job ?
Well said! I never met her, but I could see the kindness in the way she interacted with others. And I also noticed that she treated her staff with dignity and respect. May her soul rest in perfect peace 🕊️.
@@sandrawalker8839 as in giving many of them their termination notices even before the funeral? his nibs couldn't wait a scant few days? great start ...
@@brynneholt1990 I think everyone goes through periods of growth in our lives that we aren’t proud of. I think the Diana situation had an effect on her in her life’s journey. I’m glad she stated her support of Camilla to be Queen Consort. Diana can never be replaced but life does move onward. Camilla has been a stoic and dutiful addition to the royal family. No tantrums, just does her duty.
Barack Obama you have always had an elegant and very tasteful way of expressing your views no matter the subject. Your tribute to HM was a beautiful tribute which came from the heart...not only yours but you families hearts too. I always claimed that you were by far the BEST president the US has ever had....you had a way of easing tensions internal or abroad, I wish you were still president and had a long term of presidency.
He had his two terms. All voted officials should have a two term limit, but with the fabulous benefit packages they've created for themselves, said elected officials want to stay on the gravy train.
@@mangafq8 Wow, we really wanted and needed to hear THAT opinion! 🥴 Do you think Annette doesn’t know that a President in the US can only have two consecutive terms? IMHO you need to get off that high horse! Thank you, Annette, for your thoughtful expression of how MOST Americans feel about President Obama (and Michelle)!
The Queens kindness to the Obama's in general says more about how wonderful that family is. She would have done this, not from a head of state to head of state perspective, but with a huge personal element to it. Almost all the people I know, here in the UK, admire the Obamas immensely.
Thank you, Mr President, for that simple, moving and heartfelt, yet eloquent, tribute to our late Queen. I think both you and she were privileged to meet the other.
OH MY GOODNESS !! I absolutely love this story..........it's every little girls dream to ride in a golden carriage like a princess & for the Queen to offer this opportunity to the girls is just SOOOO beautiful. ❤️☮️🙏🇺🇸❤️🇺🇦
How have we never heard these stories? She let the Obama girls ride in her Golden Carriage? Wow! And the story of the broach is just so endearing. Thank you for sharing Mr. President.
A generous tribute. And one can imagine Obama's daughters telling their own grandchildren in 60 years time of the day they rode around in that carriage at Buckingham Palace-how thoughtful of the Queen, just really being a granny.
Queen Elizabeth had the manners, kindness, consideration and etiquette that very few people have. We need more people like her in the world. The British Royal Family is the reason why the U.K. is a kinder, more peaceful and more ethically advanced country than this one, the U.S. I often wish I lived there. 🇺🇲❤🇬🇧👑
Again, former President Obama shows how easily he can express himself when he paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth. It made me feel proud listening to him and reminding myself that what a true president should be able to do and actually show consideration, compassion, thoughtfulness and do it so graciously. He had so much class👏. I will always have a strong respect for him and so grateful that he was our president.
@@heatherarcher8021 Thank you. I was about 9, and I'll never forget it.. My mum and I went to Princess Ann's wedding too and stood in the inner courtyard of Buckingham Palace. I can even remember the dress I wore. I can't remember the journey from Sussex one bit, but I can remember the moment we waved to her.
@@akhoris5634 why on earth would I do that 😂. They used to live in grace and favour at Windsor Castle. Lots of people do you know. Tons of people are employed there. He road the pillion horse pulling carriages
A wonderful tribute. Many respected Her late Majesty, but with her passing, a very real outpouring of affection has demonstrated how magical she really was.
what someone is, what someone was, at parting it becomes obvious ! Meaning when someone dies, we suddenly know more about him. When my aunt passed, I suddenly realized - dont know how - that her always being so nice to everyone - had been hard work and s.th. she had consciously pushed herself to. While when she was alive, I had always assumed, it was just her way, without much thought to it
I've always liked the Queen, but this makes me, shall I say proud. Proud in the sense of being of English blood, and also because I am proud of Obama's daughters, as two of the most impressive children of the presidential brood, so to speak. Obama rises to occasion without a whole lot of effort, because some qualities really are genetic. And what a great royal memory for Sasha and Malia.
@@mizi2075 Actually French and German blood - I mean, the House of Windsor was the House of Saxe Coburg und Gotha before the first World War. Just saying!
WOW. That was indeed a beautiful tribute to her Majesty the Queen. And how thoughtful of her to give Malia and Sasha a carriage ride around the palace. Definitely something, I'm sure, they will talk about and remember for years, to come. And wearing the brooch that Michelle gave her. What an honor. Considering she has a trove of heirloom jewels to choose from. LOVE the Obama's and miss the days when they were in the WH. Wish them all the best. ❤️
A genuine and thoughtful tribute to the Queen. who was truly lovely and gracious! Malia and Sasha will never forget riding in the Queens golden carriage!
@@theredhotchilipepperssexof4269 It's more like Andrew shielded The Queen. He wanted to prove his innocence if you can remember. But he retracted his statement since he realized that the case will drag on until Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee celebration, and he didn't want anything that may be a distraction from the celebrations.
The Queen and Prince Phillip have always been very fond of the Obama's. I remember seeing them both personally picking the Obamas up from their arrival in their helicopter. I think Prince Phillip drove the land rover around their grounds with the Queen and the Obamas as his passengers. I have been waiting for President Obama to comment about the Queen, and on my goodness, this is a beautiful tribute to The Queen.
@@pthesmith The thing is that even if he somehow was able to steal the election and remain president, he would not have been invited after the fiasco he created on his only visit. But I give him this. He would have had a better seat than Biden on his couch watching the funeral on TV like the rest of us.
That's a sweet story. The queen knew what would impact young girls. The storybook quality of living in a palace and riding in coaches was a real thing! She was gracious enough to let them experience it.
As gracious as the Queen was she was also a woman of strength. She had begun her monarchy in a world filled with male leaders, she not only held her own she rose above them. I think that's why it makes me angry when some insinuate she was ruled by the "men in grey suits". It may for PR purposes but Harry's suggestion that it wasn't the Queen's directives that he and Meghan had issues with just seems ridiculous.
President Barack Obama describes the late Queen Elizabeth II so accurately. I am grateful for his delightful personal tribute to Her Majesty.Blessings to Barack, Michelle and family!
An amazing tribute to a very special lady from a very special man xx. Thank you President Obama for your kind words of our beautiful and gracious Queen xx
This Man is the ultimate example of all I believe humanity should be. And what a wonderful and beautiful tribute to the Queen who also was the ultimate example of what humanity should be 💞
Love that the Queen wore the brooch from Michelle the next day. Reminds me of a friend who use to bring out photos of the guest coming and had them displayed in plain sight. She had a drawer full if framed photos. Class act, I thought.
When my son’s primary school class visited Buckingham Palace to watch the Changing of the guard, the front of the palace was very crowded with sightseers. The children and their teacher had managed to get near to the front of the crowd, but being only about 7 years old, still had some difficulty seeing past the people in front of them. By chance, Her Majesty’s car arrived at the palace gates, complete with police outriders and swept into the courtyard. Part way across the courtyard the car stopped and a man emerged from the car and spoke with a police officer. The officer then came out into the crowd and told the children and teacher that Her Majesty had seen that they were rather crushed and invited them to view the proceedings from inside the railings. Chairs were brought out for the teacher and parent volunteers and the children ,including my very excited son, sat cross legged on the ground to watch soldiers, complete with band, red tunics and bearskins do their impressive stuff. Her Late Majesty certainly was a kind and caring lady.
That’s a beautiful story. I’ll bet your son will remember that moment his whole life, not just for the pageantry but the unexpected kindness from, of all people, the Queen.
