Excellent video. What a great story about the Oberon to Tarana branch being brought back to life. That is something I would love to ride on, in one of those fantastic end platform carriages. Wonderful layouts too, especially the family effort, such a nice story. 😊
Will, great video, as usual. The Model Railway Exhibition looked like a great event, and you hace captured the details beautifully. I had the privilege to visit the heritage centre a few years ago, and had a great discussion with one of rthe volunteers, they are sooo enthusiastic, and it is a great job they are doing. My mother came from Oberon. She used to say the train was so slow you could get off as it entered a bend walk across the field, picking wildflowers, then get on at the other side of the bend. (She would have been talking about the 1940's.) Also, my uncle used to pronounce Tarana like Tar-anna.

Will, That is Fantastic, Great attention to detail on the layout. When the Railway from Rosewood i leant my works free of charge with Surveying and Engineering workings and ideas for the lin from Rosewood to Grandchester to Marburg originating from Rosewood with an idea to stretch the line beyond Rosewood to Marburg which i believe is open only in places now i think but i Flew a highly surveyed route from Marburg to be a very really possibility and to pull up the rail and relay from Rosewood and continue onto Grandchester, what a shame it did not go ahead n full instead of a small system, People are getting sick of the Ips Ipswich to the Grandchester run, why they ripp 20:02 ed up the Brisbane Valley line is also beyond me and Caboolture and Kingaroy lines, these are the tracks that people would love and the scenery to blackbutt, nanango and yarraman.. Its somewhere off the main line. Brisbane or ipswich to toowoomba even. The thing that gets to myself is that Brisbane wants to hold the Olympic Games, Olympic Games.takes infrastructure and that means Trains from far away places such as Toowoomba, Kingaroy, Kilcoy, and the msny other country spots, Train.needed, get on with it premier and don't think these.games are for.Brisbsne only Nive video to will!
Wonderful video Will and there's a signal box just east of Oberon but it's a fake for it was used as a movie prop. Here's a home made trike ride on the line from Carlwood (mid way point) to Hazelgrove done in 2005. We get to see just how sharp the curves on this line really are and being unfenced stock moves freely over the line. This trike ride was done before the OTHR took over the line. In NSW closed lines aren't ripped up but just left to be reclaimed by nature. Farmers also take rail line to use in fencing and also extend their fences over the old rail line.
