Obi Wan Kenobi Part 5 Reaction 

Seeing Obi Wan outsmart Vader was EVERYTHING. I love how their whole sparring session was correlated into this episode. And Tara's death DEVASTATED me....it brought back 'Rogue One' emotions that are still there. 😭😭😭

My heart is so full with joy watching young Hayden and Ewan sparring for one last lesson! And finally, we get to watch Vader in all his might; this fan is happy.

Regarding Vader’s fight with Reva, most of those weird moves weren’t hers - that was Vader pushing her around. I for one did feel at least a little bit of sympathy for Reva when Vader referred to her as ‘youngling’ after stabbing her. He was telling her that he knew she was playing dead at the temple and had just been using her like a pawn all these years to get to Obi-Wan. That kind of long game is extra evil in my eyes.

This Vader fight was.... first Vader's real fight I saw in my life, and he was playing with her 😊😊masterpiece.

I was happy that Vader knew who she was the whole time and helping Obi Wan to get to him. If there is one thing Vader is not, is dumb. I'm really glad they didn't have her doing all this under his nose. Reva going in for the kill was exactly what Obi Wan tried to warn Anakin against. Her anger and need for revenge blinded her to all rationality.

I actually did feel something for Reva in that scene with the fight with Vader. She overestimated her ability but took her shot at him. It was so intense seeing Vader with her then and then Anakin from the past and her juxtaposition of her and her self as a youngling. This episode was excellent.

The blatant confidence that Vader has fighting Reeva is top tier. Doesn’t pull his blade, but steals hers. Not once, but twice. Uses nothing but the force for the first half just to prove a point. THAT is Vader. And I love every bit of it!

It was fair for Reva to ask why Obi-Wan wasn't there. I highly doubt the younglings were briefed on what the Jedi generals were doing throughout the war. Yet she would have seen Anakin and Obi-Wan together around the Jedi Temple.

Alriiiight this was such a good episode!! The way Obi-Wan outwitted Vader was incredible.

Darth Vader fought Reva without a light saber just like Kenobi fought Anikan with out his. I am having fun with the parallels in this series.

Your take on Reva is a little harsh.. with no good reason either. Mind you that everyone has their own opinion but you're the only reacter I know that not only dislike Reva(not saying you said you didn't like her but cmon it definitely seems so) but also not care. Her background was clearly understood and can get why she felt the way she felt.. having no sense of caring even a little is just completely bliss.

I'm not here to say Reva is the most amazing Star Wars character of all time. She's below average on the scale for sure. But I was honestly surprised just how much she didn't work for you. Not that there's anything wrong with that opinion of course or that it's "wrong," like I said, she's not the best character. But I did feel a bit for her at the end, and I think the saddest part of her story, the whole purpose of her story, was to use the metaphor of the Darkside to show how dwelling on negative emotions like hate or rage to deal with your trauma get you nowhere. This whole show is really on big metaphor for trauma and mental well being dealing with it. Obi Wan was avoiding it in the beginning. In the episodes he first see's Vader, he has a full on panic/anxiety attack, not some movie BS, but an actual panic attack. Then he learns to slowly deal with it, to confront it because he sees other people moving past their own painful pasts. Reva is an example of someone who only learned to hate and ultimately repeat and inflict the same pain she experienced on other people. She was a youngling who saw Anakin march in with a bunch of clonetroopers and kill her family. She then is doing the exact same thing by sieging the base full of families and children and march in to kill them alongside her stormtroopers. All justifying it in her quest of vengeance. Similar to real world parallels of child victims of abuse often growing up to become abusers themselves. But at the end of the day, after Vader has defeated her and showed how useless and futile all her rage is, when all of that is gone, she's literally in the same position she was 10 years ago. She reverts back to that same youngling, looking up, scared, as Anakin/Vader drives a lightsaber through her. The Darkside, anger, hate, all that supposed "power" in the universe didn't do anything for her. She never moved past her trauma. She was, has always been, that scared 10 year old girl.

Reeva was one of the children from order 66. Anakin killed her friends and family during that time period when she was a kid. Anakin killed so many children, so he left Reeva alive when she was a child. So she's all grown up to get revenge on Anakin for the things that he done in order 66. What part that you don't understand about Reeva's character?

YES!!!! We finally got a glimpse of how immensely powerful Vader really was!!! Just stopping the ship midair, tearing it's walls out, thinking so little of Reva, that he just toys with her.... Not even drawing his own lightsaber, but just teals her, toys some more and then disarms her and stobs her, with her own lighsaver!!!! In those tunnels, Obi-wan's Soresu is perfect. The same way a small force can hold a chokepoint all but indefinitely, Obi-wan was shielding those behind him from blaster fire. It's actually how the clones were trained, and you can see it in Episode II on Geonosis: the clones run in columns two men wide so the Jedi leading them can shield them from blaster fire coming from the front.

Reva's fight style is called the eVader technique (evading). 😏

The Grand Inquisitor's race has two stomachs, that is why he survived. Reva just survived because of plot armor. With the last few minutes of this episode I had issues of how stupid they made Vader look. He caught a ship and ripped it open then watched the second ship take off. Was he replenishing his stamina bar?...Then there is the fact that he apparently knew she was a youngling who knew who he was the entire time! Vader has crashed a ship of imperial clone troopers just for knowing who he was, he was considering executing Thrawn because he SUSPECTED he knew who he was. Had I written the last few minutes of that episode he would have grabbed the second ship as well and THAT is when she would have taken the swing at him. He would have had to let go to properly defend himself.

This episode has always given me LEGO Star Wars vibes -- particularly the parts where you have control over SEVERAL characters and have to match each character's abilities to their specific interactable object. (Young Miss is a "shortie" class, and can fit into ducts, etc)

My theory is that Vader needs Obi-Wan alive, because he ultimately wants to turn him to the Darkside as his apprentice. That would be the biggest win for Vader as he’s secretly plotting to overthrow the Emperor. a real reversal! Also, Vader stabbed Reva in such a way as to leave her alive, because he’s not done using her. Plus brutalizing her might just make her angry enough or strong enough for her to be groomed into a worthy apprentice one day. He knows exactly what he’s doing.

Fandom - Chapter I: "I don't like Reva. She's so extra. Yucky." Fandom - Chapter V: "Oh. Well...shoot. If only I had waited for a few episodes." The central lesson of the episode: Patience. How's THAT for irony? Because it seems that some still haven't learned anything. *shrugs* "I think I'm just being picky now." Yup.

Next episode will probably allow Vader to know that Luke is his son. This could probably lead to Vader saying: "No, I am your father."

She rolls one way to attack, it gets blocked so she rolls the other way, Vader moves to block that and she rolls back to the side she attacks to put space between them and to get back on to her feet. Its not about the stakes, is about the realization. Finally she realizes she's been fighting herself more anything else, and she lost. She should of died for it, but we will have to see what happens next. Reva has always been a means to an end. Least that is how they have set this up for her. They tolerated her because she could get things done, but she was never really one of them. Its only now that she realizes it. least that is how I see it.

Tala was such an interesting character but they still deceided to give Reva the spinoff...

"Passionately frustrated" is the perfect phrase for how this show makes me feel! It's so disappointing though it's nice to have Ewan and Hayden back, and the wonderful actress as Leia, but each episode has deflated my enjoyment a bit more.

You seem hung up on wanting to care about Reva but not. You’re not supposed to. She is a bad person. She’s given into her hate and desire for vengeance and is full Dark side. Just because that hate is aimed at someone who’s evil doesn’t change what it is or lessens the atrocities she’s committed in service of it. She is a villain. She isn’t part of the show to be redeemed, she’s there to add an element of chaos. What she adds to the show is “what is she going to do?”. She’s been the instigator of everything that’s happened in the show. The only reason Obi-Wan and Leia were brought together was because Reva had Leia kidnapped. Reva is the catalyst for the story of this show.

I feel like the intro is a bit awkward considering what happened. I am by no means the biggest fan of the Reva character but you are way too harsh. Hearing what happened to her in the temple made me feel for her and I don't need to live in a country where children hide among the bodies of classmates to feel that way.

Something I loved about this episode is the music. This is the best Star Wars soundtrack I've heard since Revenge of the Sith.

You’re not supposed to care about her, I think. In my opinion, she’s a FOIL. She’s supposed to be used to bounce off of, to show us the coolest bits or Vader & Obi respectively. The show did exactly what it meant to do. 👏🏾. People need more faith in the writers and craftsman who poured hours and hours over this. And we’re out here thinking we know better. 🤦🏾‍♂️. She wasn’t a waste of time. She showed us how in-control Vader always was. Her pursuit gave Obi Won time to improve and get back on his A-game and show us he is back and ready And she may still have more to do next episode. I wish critics (in general, not you specifically) would give shows time to breathe and complete what they set out to do. I’m such a big fan of this show. I care about Reva, and feel sorry for her. As a child she was a victim of one the most horrible tragedies in the Star Wars universe, so she was broken from an early age, has probably felt alone since, and had to be amongst the people who murdered her friends. We saw how the competition was between her and the other Inquisitorious, so she probably grew up with no one but she can love or trust. Now, you fawn over Anakin, but of the two of them, who has a higher body count? And how many children did Reva kill? And the way she was fighting Vader she was probably going for his legs, bc going high didn’t work😂 But it backfired bc Vader is THE badass and deceptively fast!

that was a master class in fighting with the Force from Vader. Every move was him pushing, pulling and beating her down. I don't think you are meant to care about what happens to her. She made her choices. She wanted to be Grand Inquisitor and did what she needed to get there.

I understand where you’re coming from with Reva, but I haven’t written her off yet. If Anakin can be resurrected and redeemed to the light from the dark god of hell that is Vader, then surely Reva, but we shall see, that would be my hope, she could have become a very powerful and interesting character in the future, but there is no mention of her existence, or evidence of her survival and redemption in any of the future Star Wars canon. This is a big problem with Disney tampering with Star Wars canon. When you tamper with canon you create more problems for the established storyline. PS. I really liked Tala she was a very well played character and I was hoping they would keep her.

Well. Huh. Guess a light saber’s a cauterizing weapon? Maybe it depends on exactly *where* somebody gets run thru with one, whether he bleeds out or gets just sealed enough till a medic droid comes along… Anyway, a case for Reva: re the “that’s not fair” moment, this is the mature assessment. But Reva’s not emotionally mature. She’s psychically frozen in that moment of trauma. And that part really hit me not only for what she relived in the moment, but also for Obi Wan’s torture at the recollection. Bet that burnt hotter than the vintrium coals Vader raked him over scant episodes ago. It’s the profound loneliness of Reva’s quest and existence that reaches me. She’s not on anyone’s side. And nobody’s on hers.

In the last episode in the tomb the 1st jedi you see is Tera Sinube he was in the clone wars animated series hes the jedi that helped ashoka track down the 2 thieves that stole her lightsaber

That Loader droid....ugh right in the feels! As for the lack of slaughter in the close fighting, it's pretty norm for SW. Hundreds of blaster bolts flying both directions and instead of waves of people falling they drop in far fewer numbers. The droids in the Clone Wars fights are like this maybe more than even the troopers. It's a shame emotionally Reva didn't click for you. I'm not sure her duel with Vader was any more or less goofy than the fight between Obi and Anakin. They both had a couple cool moments, and both had a couple silly moments. Not all lightsaber duels are super dynamic. As for the backstory with Reva, I feel like they set it up pretty well. I guess one scene of pre-Order 66 interaction would've been cool...something with Grogu...haha...but tv shoes rarely have the time to put in those scenes. She feels VERY darkside via path of trauma to fear to hate. I really enjoy her character...and I think she's not done yet. We know she's not getting her revenge but I think there's good in her and I'm excited to see it, as is the recurring theme with SW. There were a few moments where she emoted the traumatized child inside her pretty well and those were touching to me. Maybe we'll get a softer point of vulnerability that makes that child inside come through more. I've always been a bit on the fence with the inquisitors as a general theme but it seems like we're getting a pre New Hope universe with a lot more survivor Jedi and they make a good foil for that.

I don’t know if it’s Filoni’s little easter eggs or if he’s trying to make it canon, but one of the lightsabers in the bin looks an *awful* lot like Starkiller’s lightsaber from the Force Unleashed games

Not every character needs to be cared about, she is a villain at the end of the day with her own personal mission, she hates kenobi, but she hates vader more and used kenobi as a way to get to him, the irony of it was vader was using her the whole time

I think this was a good episode and I am feeling more empathy toward Reva now but I think if they had made Reva more enigmatic and mysterious like 2nd Sister from Fallen Order, it may have been better. I'm a little more hopeful the series (or season?) will end with a bang rather than a whimper.

Okay, I only found your channel with Obi-Wan and again I've mentioned this on other people's channels. I love your reactions and I love your passion but here's the deal I'm a Star wars original I still line for 6 hours to watch Star wars in 1977 and age 10. This has been a 45-year long passion of my life. And it bothers me the people nitpick and they're so critical of storylines and I want to be this way I don't want to be that way. I know you love Star wars and I know you're passionate. But just enjoy it for what it is. It's an amazing world of fantasy. Everybody reviews every episode is I didn't like this I didn't like that character. This is been developed over decades. They're obviously going somewhere. Yeah we didn't connect with Reva I didn't either but it's a sixth episode series. It's obviously going to go farther. The thing about these reactions that I watch with mandalorian, boba fett, and now Obi-Wan. Is that it's once awake for eight episodes. I had to wait 3 years for empire strikes back I had to wait 3 years for Jedi. I had to wait over a decade for episode 1. Yes see where I'm going here. Relax. Don't know for analyze just enjoy what you have. Young Leia brilliant seeing Obi-Wan brilliant. Just enjoy it for what it is it's Star wars. Finally somebody that is honest and speaks truth. Not just a Star Wars fan girl or guy. I appreciate your honesty and I feel exactly like you. This series is very wolfel in it's writing, flow of the story, its storyline and in its character development. This is really not a good series. It is just barely okay. And I so agree with you that the Mandalorian is the gold standard that it seems might not be able to be reached again. I for one was looking forward to this series more than any other. So my disappointment is huge. I cannot understand for the life of me why they do not have or can't find enough Talent to make such a rich wealth of information about Star Wars and Obi-Wan to combine it and make a good series. Just shaking my head. I really believe sometimes they just hire friends that don't really have what it takes rather than hiring the best. Just my opinion

Ha, the magic 8 ball did the deceiving. This was the best epi of the bunch, not that it was devoid of annoying stuff for us strict Canon types, but I expect the final epi will be even better, so you all will have that to look forward to. That being said, I’m still dumbfounded why they limited this to 6 epi’s, esp when the 4th one did nothing to move things forward. Had it been an 8, 10 or 12 epi series ok, but you cannot afford any momentum loss with only 6 total epi’s.

Ok, you missed it. She pieced together Bail's distorted message to Obi Wan. She heard 'Did they find out about the children?', 'going to Tattooine', 'boy', and 'Owen'. Tattooine, boy, Owen. She knows that name and now she knows he WAS hiding something. Notice how in ep 1 while interrogating a group of people, Reva paid special attention to Owen. She may have felt then that he was hiding something. She's gonna somehow repair her wound, head to Tattooine and find Owen to get to Luke to get to Vader. Seeing as Vader never knows about Luke until later, I think Obi Wan will get there and kill her to save Luke.

I cried 3 times in this ep. So good. I love Star Wars so much. 💜💜 ps: you were the only reactor I watch that didn’t freak out over Vader scenes. His display of power pulling the ship down, his playing w reva.

Thank you so much for your passion. And thank you for voicing the frustrations I share with this series. The point I think this story misses is that it’s a prequel. We know Obi Wan lives, so putting him in danger is worthless. We know Luke and Leia live, so putting them in danger is worthless. And yet this show does it all the time. Instead, I want to see the expansion of the relationships between these beloved characters. We get that, but only briefly before we put our protagonists in fake danger again. I enjoy this series, and I’m glad I saw it, but it deserved better.

You know for someone who didn't care about Reva, you spent the whole video talking about her it must be the Jedi mind trick.

That actually is the story of Reva. She has no story at all. Her soul died on the night of order 66, and all that young girl wanted since then was revenge. It was fruitless and meaningless from the start. And in the end, a blink in the eye of Vader.

To be fair, we need Reva. Neither Vader, Kenobi, Leya, Luke, Bael or ANY character we care about, not even the actual Grand Inquisitor CAN be in actual danger. We know when everyone of them are going to die ^^ And getting someone to care about a darksider is, by the pure fact that they are on the Dark side, really really difficult.

Seeing Hayden aka Anakin as in the prequel flashbacks literally i cried about throughout that scene . But from starting to ending this episode was surreal . I think they needed to use the OG imperial March Vader theme song , not a remix I don't get it , why is everyone trying to fight Darth Vader Man you get fight time cause he wanna play with you, if really wanted to fight , well you dead before starting The way he just crashed a fking spaceship just in his force , that's so sick Loved your reaction and reviews

Unfortunately they made Reva painfully unlikable in every episode preceding this, and many people already made the connection that she was the youngling in part I. I feel like the writers could have done so much more to flesh out her character. We could've had scenes where she feels some guilt for killing the innocent, but justifying that her actions allow her to get closer to her goal of revenge against Vader. Instead we got pretty much a one-dimensional character for 4.5 episodes then a few minutes with obi-wan trying to drum up sympathy for her character. I admit I felt a little sympathy for Reva when Vader called her youngling, but throughout the duel the overwhelming feeling I had was that she was getting what she deserved, which probably wasn't what the writers were going for. That said, I feel the duel itself is one of the best things to come out of this series, we get another look at Vader's nigh unstoppable power and why he is feared across the galaxy. I should probably save my final judgement for the next episode, but I can't help thinking what could've been if Reva's character was more well written. I don't think it has anything to do with the actress, feel like its another case of someone doing the best with the material they're given.

This was a great episode! The flashbacks were amazing and heartwarming. I hope Reva redeems herself by helping protect Luke but gut feelin tells me she'll go after him to bring to Vader. I hope I'm wrong. May the force be with you!

You are not wrong at all. Many of us feel the way you do. It mostly boils down to bad writing and disappointing direction. Really expected Chow to do a great job after Mando. 100% they did not make us care about Reva. Leia really shouldn’t have been in the show at all, but certainly not to the level she has been. They should’ve featured a ton more flashbacks. They should’ve put Luke in some sort of danger that Obi had to foil from the shadows, etc. The inquisitors could’ve been their own show before this to establish them and make us care about them. You’re right to be emotional over the miss handling of this.

I like Reva, and the show on the whole a lot more than you I think. That said, leaving characters for dead and then having them come back might be becoming as big a Star Wars trope as getting limbs cut off. Reva, the Grand Inquisitor, Anakin, Maul, it's a thing.

I always thought Reva was never meant to be redeemable because she was always meant to die because Darth Vader and all of the other Inquisitors couldn't die because it would create problems in the continuity of other movies and shows.

Forget Reva I don't even need Obi-Wan. I just want a show where it's nothing but Vader being a total badass after seeing the things he's done in this show. That's what I want. Like Vader finds 10 actual Jedi who survived Order 66 and and try to attack him all at once and Vader just crushes all of them using nothing but the Force, but have a scene with all 10 of them using the Force together against him like a game of Tug-A-War and Vader showing he's more powerful with the Force than all of them combined. Just give me stuff like that and forget everything else.

An theirs the problem with fanboys and girls. Making their own story. Then disappointed when it doesn't come up. Then try to convince others their story would be better. Instead of actually watching and enjoying it.

If Lucasfilm came to you and told you that they’d do any _Star Wars_ series you wanted, what would you do, Angela? You give Clone Wars era Obi-Wan and Anakin much love in your latest awesome video, but _Clone Wars_ has that covered. I want to see Donald Glover back as Lando Calrissian. All the intrigue going on in Cloud City before the Millennium Falcon landed in _The Empire Strikes Back_ might make a cool series, like _Casablanca_ in space.

I must say, that i was not suprised that the Inquisitor survived. I'm not only love the Films, i played the online Game "Star Wars the Old Replubic" too. When you played it, there is a scene, who you fighting with one Charakter calls Arcane. In this game you can sometimes choose if you give a Lightside(good) answer or a Darkside answer. When you choose the Lightside one, Arcane makes the same with you was reva did with the Grand Inquisitor, or even now Vader did with her. In the Game your Character survived it. Ok you can say it is only a game, but they make in the game many things what you can see in the Films. And in The book of Boba Fett you see how Fennec survived. Ok she was shooted, but the weapons also used Laser. Ok mostly she survived because Boba helps her, but she survived. So i don't thing that she died, because they don't show us the scene with Organa if she died. Something will happens next week. Maybe she will use Luke or she tried to kill him to hurt Vader and Obi stopps her. I think something like that would be happen and off course in that way that Vader doesn't now that his Children survived. We see it next week(unfortunately we must wait till them -_-) whats happen. But i know one thing for sure: It would be EEEEPIIIIIIIIIIC^^

8 episode or 12 episode series was a must. I'm very alarmed by Disney's current desire to turn everything into a 6 part series. The marvel shows are having the same issue. This really needed to be a much longer season.

I do not understand you people not getting Reeva. I think it's a great character.

Reva comes off as super brutal, so I think it would be tough to build a sympathy for her, but they defintely could have shown more of her history to try and get some kind of investment.

I agree with everything you said about Reva. I want to like her. I want to feel sympathetic for her, and nothing against the actor. But all throughout she just felt forced. (pun intended) Especially with all the screaming and yelling she felt more of a whiner than a true villain. The true villain is always Vader of course, but this show put so much emphasis on Reva as the lead "enemy" so to speak that it kind of diminished Vader and Kenobi's spotlight. I feel that if she had even an ounce of the cold and calculated aura that the real Grand Inquisitor had maybe she would have been amazing. She could have been the live-action incarnation of an Asaaj Ventress. And sure, I can sort of understand her anger now after this episode but the damage is done from the previous four episodes... she should have died this episode imo.

I'm guessing Reva's going to surive, leave the Inquisitorius and become some sort of freelance bounty hunter or mercenary, or maybe anothe hernit who uses the Force, if Vader ot the rest of her "brothers" and sisters" don't kill her first. They kind of already have done this story with Asajj Ventress, she was a young Padawan who turned to the dark side was learning under Count Dooku, but got out from under his influence and tried to get revenge, failed, and then ound up actually helping a former enemy: Ahsoka Tano. Im guessing they're going to do something similar with Reva if her character's not killed off. Cant imagine an attempt on your boss's life is gonna go over well with old Sheev, lol!

I really enjoyed this episode of the show, but this reaction video seemed to be somewhat negative in the overall tone. Maybe you have the wrong expectations for the show?

I think you hit on a lot of the same frustrations that a lot of us fans had with this series. I really love most of these characters and it hurts to realize that they just didn't quite knock it out of the park. Especially when you compare it to Andor with its impeccable storytelling. you know it had SO much potential but at least parts of it fell sorta flat. I still generally liked it but I can see the flaws.

This show is a lot of compelling ideas made unceremoniously.

Thank you for your honest and passionate veiw on this episode. Marie and I really loved it. In fact, for us...it was our favourite, so far. Your frustration with Reva is understandable. Marie and I have talked about it. We've thought that she was one of the Younglings, but we didn't know the path that she actually took to go to the Dark Side (actually, we still do not). Even though she said that she was actually going to go against Darth Vader...I don't think that was her plan. As I said to Marie...she seemed to tell Obi-Wan what he wanted to hear. Obi-Wan wants to see the best in others...maybe he projected his best views of her life on to her...and she wasn't really SOLEY after Darth Vader. Just my little theory. I don't think ALL the bad that she's done to get to this point, even killing Darth Vader wouldn't have made up for it. She has fallen too far to the Dark Side...to be redeemed with on petty act of revenge. Marie and I don't mind Reva as a character. There are superficial and shallow people out in the world...she was angry and her anger led her to the Dark Side. Darth Vader used her until he no longer needed her. We BOTH thought that Vader knew she was going to try to kill him. That lightsaber battle with her and Darth Vader was awesome. She was SO out of her league...and he showed her how POWERFUL he was. He never worried about her...and he never drew his own lightsaber. He actually stopped hers from spinning with little to no effort. What does she do next? Darth Vader stopping the transport ship from taking off and dropping it to the ground...and opening it up like a tin can...was AWESOME! Darth Vader at his prime. We so needed to see that. Now, like you said in your review...seeing the cut scenes of Padawan Anakin fighting Obi-Wan on Corescant was great. That teaching moment worked perfectly within this episode. At each story beat...the next part of that fight bore out at this later date. Loveed it. Marie and I talked about what we wanted at the beginning of this series...and something like this...was what we wanted. I don't even think they de-aged them at all (both Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christiansen really have taken care of themselves...so it wasn't too far of a stretch to see them as younger versions of themselves). I love Haja Estreed. He's a bad apple trying to do better. By the end of his life...he might become an actual good person...even dying to save others. On the way...he's a scoundrel. Love how Leia is a go getter. She's smart and capable. Vivian Lyra Blair is such a good actress. I wouldn't mind a Mini Series with her and her life on Alderaan. What do you think? It was sad to see Tala die, but it seemed the proper way to allow her to have her hero moment (her and NED-B). We were invested in her character, and it was sad to see her die. About the aim of Stormtroopers. They are NEVER going to be good. It is a running gag...that actually never gets old. We see it...and just "eye roll", but we still love the scene. If it happened in ANYTHING else, I'd call it out, but in Star Wars...that is JUST the way it is. We're okay with it. One thing that we thought was interesting. Obi-Wan felt her pain...when she got stabbed with the lightsaber. He always has the best in mind for everyone. He is becoming more in tuned with the force. Think back when Nari the Jedi played by Benny Safdie in the first episode. He didn't feel his death in the Force, but Obi-Wan DID feel hers. Not because she was a better person than Nari, but that she is a lifeform that Jedi are there to protect as best as possible. That scene was there to show his growth in the Force. Now, what happens next? We know that we end up on Tatooine with Obi-Wan looking over the Lars plantation...and him watching out for Luke...but there are a few things that will need to happen before that LAST scene. He will need to drop Leia off on Alderaan to reunite her with Bail and Breha Organa. Cute meet with them...and off he goes (hopefully). Obi-Wan needs to go back to Tatooine and commune with the Force and find Qui-Gon Jinn. We need this Force Ghost. They've been hinting at it this entire series...there HAS to be a payoff. Especially since there needs to be ONE more fight...and the outcome needs to be ONE way...so that the line from A New Hope still makes sense. Then we need a last fight with Darth Vader, where Obi-Wan bests Darth Vader and shows that he's still the Master...and Vader needs to get a little better. Now, we are worried about how Reva will mess things up. If she goes to Tatooine and confronts Obi-Wan...how will that work out (Darth Maul vs. Obi-Wan?). Quick and simple? Darth Vader CANNOT go to Tatooine. At no time should that happen. So, if Obi-Wan and Darth Vader fight...it has to be "elsewhere". SO much for just ONE more episode. Ugh. Now, Marie and I think it'd be great to have the Adventures of Darth Vader...with Hayden in the suit and reliving his past...like the novel Lords of the Sith by Paul S. Kemp...where he struggles with himself and with Palpatine. We'd love a series that does something like the comics go over. It doesn't have to be multiple seasons, but an 8-10 episode run would satiate us. Now, we would also love another season of Obi-Wan Kenobi, but where Darth Vader is looking for him, but they're paths never cross, EVER again...till A New Hope. Okay, those are our thoughts. Thank you.

The actor playing Reva have taken some flak, but she does the best possible job with what she got from the writers. The real issue here is actually the script - not only with her character, but in general. All in all, they've generally written a lot of good scenes for the show, but there's also a lot of gaps in tying things up and weird things they had to fix with "plot armor" or other illogical stuff (such as having Leia run faster than adult, Reva just popping up at the other end of the tunnel, etc.). Unfortunately, this turns a lot of good opportunities into a rather lackluster overall experience.

The problem with this whole series so far is the lack of stakes or consequence. We know Leia will survive. We know Luke will survive. We know Bail Organa will survive. We know Vader won't find out about his kids yet. We know Obi-Wan will end up back on Tatooine watching over Luke. With only one episode left, I can't imagine what they could come up with that would make this series feel like there's an actual point to it.

My mom called the Reva story from the start. She was right.

Hmm… I honestly wonder if she wasn’t black if you would have held more empathy and hope for her. Granted it’s the writing and show creators error. There’s not a whole lot shared about Tala and yet you had a different response for her?

I think you kinda missed the point of Reva. Yes, they tried to make her a bit more dynamic in this episode and it didn't work great, but the most important takeaway about her is that she was basically just a tool for Vader to track Kenobi. Her being granted the position of GI, her being left in the dark about the real GI when the other inquisitors clearly knew, it was all part of a ruse to let her use her anger to track Obi Wan. There's no need to feel sympathy for her to understand how she was just played like a fiddle.

I get the Reva thing, although I don't like how toxic the discussion of her has become other places on the net. But, I do feel like you might be letting that distract from overall enjoyment. Sure, fights are much better when you care about the combatants, but I've always wondered how Vader could handle younger more agile fighters in a sabre duel. I thought when watching the animated duel between Vader and Ahsoka in Rebels that come on, there is no way a trained Jedi couldn't see those wide lumbering swings in his body armour coming from a mile away...BUT...seeing it live against Reva I was enjoying the sight of his badassery against Reva in their sabre duel. I kinda feel like if I had been so focused on how weakly Reva has been written I would have robbed myself of the joy of watching bad ass Vader. I guess what I'm saying is it feels like you're letting the Reva problems be TOO MUCH of an issue in overall enjoyment. I see her as a poorly written character too. I wish they had done more to make me care at all about her. But I won't let that distract me from enjoying other aspects of the show. :)

I liked the episode, but as cool as it was seeing Vader pull down a transport - where the *hell* did the second one come from? I didn't see it anywhere in the background, or any aerial shot, and if they had two transports why were they waiting for this one (or why didn't they evacuate with both)?
