I didn't know this so I looked it up Methods=Functions You call a function a function when it is outside of a class You call a function a method when it is written inside a class
I'm glad to see that you're building a strong educational platform Brad You've always been a great source of knowledge Bringing other people to your channel is going to help you reach out to even more people and help them learn Thank you for all your efforts
Wow! Brad is sooooo coo! I promise to give back to folks all the good stuff I've got from this channel, and other resources via my channel. So help me God 🙏
Thank you Caleb for casually making me get the "self" parameter! That *does* make a lot of sense now. I always thought it referred to the method/class, not the object.
What I definintely dislike in these new TM videos format is that lectors do not use VS Code as code editor. Brad likes it and he knows how good it is so he used only VS Code for his lessons. I love it as well thanks to Brad I'm using it for JS, Python, PowerShell and C++ every day. It's the best. As for the rest, in my opinion there's no Brad's charisma in those vids, alas. So I will keep watching just to support Brad and his family. To lectors: no offence guys, just saying what I feel.
This was such a great video. I was always familiar with the basics of OOP like inheritance and creating objects and methods, but never found a video that incorporates encapsulation and polymorphism as well!
hello .how are you ? i would like to learn programming from scratch (zero) ... from where should I start ? what should I learn first ?? I will be grateful for you if you reply .thanks in advance .
First 18 minutes were alright but from the next I couldn't understand anything Completely got confused ❓❓❓❓🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 Am I the stupidest one in here?
I am moving through Caleb’s c programming content currently. I know it’s a minuscule thing but unlike a white board the chalk board draws me in. Thanks Brad and Caleb!!!!
Hello everyone, I keep getting an error for the def_print_all_customers method: "Method should have 'self' as first argument" "Non-iterable value customers is used in an iterating context" Am I the only one that is having this error? PS. I love the video! I'm learning so much!
note on class method around 26:00. My VS code gives error on def and in customers. Resolved by put @classmethod above def print_all_customers(cls, customer). also add cls in brecket. Just in case someone else has this thing happen. Thx Brad and Caleb
I wonder what the #API call inside the upgrade_membership() function would do since we already got the membership argument? Is it like what rate you should charge for that specific membertype? I understand you were just illustrating. But if you can please give an example of the real world context.
Is there a way to clear contents of a variable before restarting a program ? On a raspberry pi, I have a script that reads and prints the input signal from a hobby RC receiver. My If statement is if the transmitter is off to blink an LED light (arduino) and print "NO SIGNAL". It only works the first time I open and run the program with the receiver turned off. When I turn on the receiver get my signal then stop the program and run it again with the receiver off, it prints the last values it had. How can I get it cleared out?
So let me get this straight... Getter and Setter methods enable me to add fuctionalities whenever a giver property is read or written by something, is that it? For example, I can block unwanted data from being assigned, or blocking a given value from being read... Is that it?
at 39.53 - the private attribute should be self.__name and not self._name. Also tutorial is great but i feel it should be labelled as "...beginner level"
Kept getting error/warning for the 'static' method in the example class. Turns out you should put @staticmethod first. It does run without that though.
Pls I have a problem with my self I want to be a programmer bot I find it hard pls I need gadians and even now I Find it very difficult to concentrate pls I need help

No "this video is supported by", or "hit like, subscribe, click Bell button". Goes directly to the video topic right from the beginning. Bro, you are gold
Great video mate 👍 When it comes to Forex trading, I always recommend newbies to Mrs Victoria since I started trade with her , I've not had a loss due to the signals she uses during trade. You can reach her for help..
__init__ is not a 'constructor' because the object is already constructed when this methods gets called (how else can it have 'self' , right?). The real constructor in python __new__, but it is save to ignore that until you really need it (probably never).
In a dynamic language the difference is academic because any member function can create new variables at any time. Technically even in C we can allocate new memory, we just can't name it, but it should be obvious that strictly speaking OOP doesn't have much of an advantage in these languages since it can't even remotely guarantee that instances of the same class behave identically.
hey Brad, you are awesome... you are giving a very good quality content about wed development but.. I am a little confused. I am a beginner as an absolute beginner... I have been watching the HTML & CSS playlist on this channel and I wanted to ask you that you have a lot of playlists on your channel and what should i start with first? so I could also be a better Web Developer please reply sir
Anyone know why I'm getting an invalid syntax error using the colon at the end of init method? The error just points to the colon. Learning from this vid, good stuff! =).
Wow, I just saw hes picture wasn't exactly interested in this particular topic but since it's him I gotta see it... It's been long since I came across him I thought he wasn't doing videos any more... Ps it's his java tutorials I came across him.... I'm glad he's here
“I was hoping by showing you an example without self you would have a better understanding of self. And as a result have a better understanding of your own true self” this guy kills me😂
Please bring Wrong Akram. A super talented but underrated RU-vidr that makes awesome frontend designs and developements using modern Frameworks like React
Hey Caleb, What list of beginner projects would you recommend of increasing difficulty. I feel ready to get hands dirty and build stuff but not looking to take on sth too hard that'll end being off-putting
Great video! What would be the best front end language for Python. I know that Python works with just about anything(from what I’ve been told,) but for a new can’t even use Facebook beginner like me which would be the most beneficial for me. Ultimately I would like to work in a machine learning field.
