And Nickel! There are like a million shows with Nickel in it. I only watch BFDI, II, and OSO, and BFDI and II have Nickels, so I call the BFDI one Nickel and the II one Nickle so I don't get them confused.
furries are superior to weebs the OSO Nickel guy is different. The II and BFB ones are the same. I’m pretty sure what happened was that while he’s eliminated in II, he’s chillin’ with the BFB cast in North Goiky.
In the point of quantity of contestants, I believe too many contestants would also result in lack of character development and / or arc. Having too many objects will give everyone less screen time and interactions, along with not making them interesting enough. I also think you should cover the topic of coming up with challenge ideas (if you haven’t covered it in the other videos, if you have I’m sorry I didn’t finish watching them). Really like the tips you gave!
In practice, your line of thinking seems flawless. BFB had 64 contestants at the start. How many had deep character development pre-split? Not many, I’ll tell you.
Here’s one of my tips; ALWAYS CREATE THE PERSONALITY OF A CHARACTER BEFORE YOU CHOOSE WHICH OBJECT THEY ARE. This stops there from being stereotype characters, like, a soap bottle who’s obsessed with cleaning, or, a tissue box who sneezes a lot. You don’t want those. You want actual characters that you could either see someone have in real life, or something that’s actually funny, (leafy, bow, ect) or just make sure it’s not a very specific personality. Also give them multiple layers of personality.
I think there definitely can be exceptions to this, but if you're going to give your characters personalities based on what object they are, there should be some sort of lore/worldbuilding explanation for it
Probably something I should add on to this: Add nonbinary characters, but if you do, don't make them being nonbinary their only defining trait. Paintbrush (II) does this pretty well. EDIT: As well, don't limit yourself to traditional androgynous NB characters. Masculine and feminine NBs exist, and there's plenty of NB identities that aren't purely NB (such as genderfluid).
If you want to make an object show with the traditional format. Do it to it's fullest potential. My object show will be the traditional format, but biggest goal with it is to use it to it's fullest potential. My ideas. 24 contestants Contestant vote. (Not saying all viewer vote shows are bad. I want room for character development, serious tone and atmosphere all of that good stuff.) Strategy (Nothing like Heather's multiple close calls early on.) Blindsides Every character having a part, even the hosts and interns. Good story arcs about the characters and the host themself. This is all I am planning to have, I just need to get everything ready to go.
Here a tip on creating characters. Add a good amount of characters lacking limbs for 2 reasons. 1. Makes the cast more unique 2. Less effort to animate Examples are like a ball character. Instead of giving you ball character limbs. Make the have none and they just roll around. Less effort for you and the ball technically doesn't need limbs. However it won't work as well with having a legless character that would need legs to move like a character in the shape of a cube.
THANK YOU SO MUCH I was planning on making a plushie keychain character and them not having arms would actually be really cool! They could use their keychain part as like a hand or something.
That's not original you just switched the letters around. It spells different but the concept is the same. Try adding a new concept instead of just using brands.
"Why? Memes get old very quickly." Okay so I've already made a joke object show, but... Multiple memes battle it out to bring back their relevancy. I mean it could work. Hit me up Disney.
Hello, for those who will make objects shows, just remember: Not everyone will like it and that's ok, just do better. And remember, it's all about making a good story :)
@@POINTYPOINTYPOINTYPIN in my *now cancelled but making a reboot* show I used a piano key for a contestant. Got a small amount of screentime and got eliminated in a tiebreaker in the 3rd episode. Piano Key's friend, Landline actually did something to get her eliminated but Landline was later exposed and eliminated by the viewers
I think the first step to make characters is to make up the personality of the character first and then pick what object it will be. Cause if you just do the objects first your characters will then turned out to be bland.
Im making an object show called Game On! It features 100 contestants travelling through the metaverse to locations i made myself. The show is aimed more towards 17+ for swearing and sexual jokes. One character i made is called Nautilus Shell, hes a cool guy and i basically ripped off his whole personality and even voice from a nother character called Pineapple Wish me luck guys
It truly is great that you are making this series to teach the new comers of the osc who want to make their own show how to make a quality show instead of something that may be rushed
Over the years as an Object Show fan, my Object Show idea has changed quite a bit. First, I wanted to make it a battle royale-esque competition with 92 objects, but I realized that it would take too long to flesh out because of the story I wanted to bring. Now, I'm working on a non-competition Object Show called "Tick-Tock" featuring only clock objects, and a romantic plot between a prince clock and a princess clock. If anyone's interested in reading it, I'll post a link to a WIP.
@@Gone._. In short, no. I've been a bit busy with university work and other stuff. I kinda lost interest with the story when I stumbled across writer's block. Honestly, most stories that I make never get finished anyways.
this gave me courage to really start making my show: Win it Or Lose it, which is kind of a show where each episode follows a pattern: episode X.1: normal challange, episode X.2: a challange that makes the name kick in like get the most cool thing and you either sell it or stay with it! The object with the least or the most amount will be ufe just have a normal amount in general, since I’m recent to making these a cast of 10 did the work! I already had the script ready so like yeah! Thanks!
I made an object show on flipaclip with 120 characters and here were the really cool things that unfolded on the show! Pixel gets eliminated because of small screentime Scissors wins the show (I planned for him to win before I made the first episode) Piano Key gets betrayed by Landline Gaming PC gains more and more popularity, forming an alliance with Scissors. Nunchucks lose popularity, getting them a quick elimination
gonna assume that you'll cover character writing more in your writing episode but I myself have a lot easier time coming up with a good cast when I put personality and/or dynamic concepts first and then design around those? I may just be an outlier ahahah either way, I'm quite excited to see where this series goes
Thank you for assisting me in making my object show power play objective I used these videos as a sort of guideline for example one tip I used is don’t steal a character even thu I wanted fries from bfdia since it’s my favorite food so I picked nacho fries
7:34 I knew my show was gonna be a lil short I just wanted to see how it would affect or how well it does. I enjoy making objects show and this video is a perfect this I needed to get started. But thanks for the tips.
Even tho this 4 years old, I LOVE this video! I wanna create a object show *but I have school and I also have a tiny amount of animating experience and I’ll have like 0 voice actor* but this was really helpful for me! I just don’t know what my characters will be battling for 🧍 I’ll be commenting this on your other tutorials about this!
I can remember having an idea of an object show of my own, and I can remember ideas for some of my characters, maybe three. There was Battery: She was going to be one of those shy sensitive characters, and there would be someone with a love interest with her. Someone who was always patient with her and blah blah blah Then there was grape: He was like Rocky, but instead of doing nothing but stand smile and barf, he would actually be one of those dumb characters. He was small, and had I imagined him with a high pitch voice. And there was Propeller: He was part of a group, which was three characters. Him, a keyboard, and another object I can’t remember. They were suppose to be the bullies of the show, a little inspiration from Blocky, Pen, and Eraser. He had no arms, and he barley showed any emotions or expressions, most of the time he would have like a bored facial expression. He wasn’t suppose to be emo or anything, it’s like, I just gave him the option to not show emotion if he doesn’t feel like it. I had this scene in my head: Two objects would be talking, then the frame cuts to Propeller flying, holding a water balloon between his legs. He drops it onto one of them and makes a big splash get one of them or both wet. Then he flies back to the Keyboard and Other Object I can’t remember, and high fives them with his feet as both of them laugh, while Propeller just has that same face.
I imagined a finale in my show of 120 characters. Scissors Male Sarcastic and Mean Baton (like a relay race baton) Female Bossy and Mean I imagine the viewers wondering how Baton managed to get to the finale when she's basically mean blah blah blah.. The last challenge is a race to climb a tree and scissors won, he was an experienced climber and had the legs to do so Baton was a gold medalist in running, hammer throw, javelin throw and long jump. But had silver and bronze in Climbing and Pole Vault!
3:15 oh my god thanks for this part because I thought it was to limiting but I still thought that for example my character shield I thought was ok until I saw that it has been done before but thank you for saying this it will help me so much
1. Concept 2. Creating assets 2.1. You can copy assets but give credit 2.2 DONT COPY THEIR PERSONALITY 2.5 Don’t use complex designs 2.7 Don’t use memes or brands as assets 3. Intro creation (there is a video about creating it) 4. Title? Create an Ep. 1. Think of anything (ex: Conversations) 2. Animations 3. Voice Acting 4. Episode Title This might be helpful. Tell me backup steps if you want
Tip: if you're making a challenge object show, make at least one character really good at the challenge and cute and I whatever I took that from X in BFB but its maybe fine with them. 😅
7:47 Fire Extinguisher: One show that I believe has too many contestants is... Me: I think he will say BFB because of 64 contestants. Fire Extinguisher: I think it's my own show a.k.a. "Object Lockdown" that I believe has too many contestants.
Im making one, but i cant animate, so its a comic. Its called the Battle to Feed Rocky, and i have roboty, but he will be changed into something else at the finale
This is a great help! Thanks! I’m excited for the next video! I really am interested in making an object show, I’ve gotten it planned out, and I’m kind of on writers block for episode one, I’ve roughdrafted 6 scenes! My OS is planned to be 14 episodes with a cast of 14 characters! 😁
This was my first pretend object show.* Name: Future Island* Contestants: Ballpen, Colored Pencil, Ruler, Paper & Tape* Prize: An Island* Concept: Competition *These are some of the contestants at the beggining, but there are a few more that I forgot. *The same prize as BFDI! But not Dream Island. *My brother and I both created Future Island, but I was the one who came up with the plan to create it. *We renamed it several times and now it's name is Lego Objects.
For the cast part,if you think you're cast is pretty big then my old show Battle for something which now is the fight for something had 48 contestants and 3 hosts 1 host and 2 co host being a total of 51 Don't worry the cast is being cut down in the fight for something.
1 tip:Making an intro for the object show 1. You should not make your intro too long or too short. 2. Dont make any classic intros. Example: BFDI. Make yours like Fight in Flight or the Code Red. 3. Introduce you characters and their names in the intro. For example, Object Redudancy. It says the name of the contestants and already know quite a bit of their personality by their pose. 4.Make your intro like Object Lockdown. It has all of their personality in it. Example: In Object Lockdown probably Milky and Bottle are the enemies because the intro shows they are fighting. That is all! I hope you reveal this in your next tips and tricks Object Show video!
*some other tips about object show that kinda are opinions of the vid* Concept: -Something I felt should've been explained was to try and not make it look like your object show is "original" by adding a few not needed tweaks to the survivor perspective. BFOD is an example. It tried to be original by added dumb stuff like, "I'll choose the teams by chance" or "we'll use points instead of eliminations". Sure it was kinda cool, but in reality, it was never really needed. Creating Objects: -Don't try and change the brand name so you don't get copyrighted. Examples such as Gameboy to Gamegirl, or Rediwhip to Mewhip. This just makes the characters somewhat unnatural. -Don't add verbose names object (unless if satire). This is not talking about something like "My Icon But make him green and have headphones etc", but things like Bag of Rice or Bustard Sewer Pipe. It makes the character random. -Don't try to add characters that are not objects, (again unless if it's satire). People like Yellow Spider, Bird, or Lion, don't add that much humor and feel weird. Finalization: -For casting, if you are making a satire show, making that show have 10-14 contestants, cause if there are more, the show will become more and more tiresome to make. -If you want to have a title that doesn't have "objects", "inanimate", or "entities', try to use tags to get your show noticed, just don't use them wrongly.
Like you said on the charterers I was gunna use Ruby’s asset but make her green for an emerald and his personality is going to be like he doesn’t want to copyrighted
haha I have 65 characters just in the first season haha oh god. It was originally going to be called YHIO (Your Honour I *Object*) But recently I've changed it to BFYL (Battle For Yoyle-Land) After over a year I've finally finished making all S1 Assets. This won't be much of a contest show, btw. I can't wait until the first episode is out.
i have been worrying about my characters. I was having a good time making my OS, but just recently i looked my cast up in the osc, and only 6 were original! but thanks to your tips i no longer have to worry about if I can keep my lock in my show or not :D
The BFDI assets are all free to use. As we see, this video is trying to make you learn how to make your OWN object show. But the BFDIW is basically fanmade scenes of bfdi, or just parodies.
Him: don't get characters from other objects shows and put them into yours Objectsided: ima put paint pallet in my show Wuggolo's comment: I didn't realize I was in zero, this is cool Me: what This comment was not to make anyone feel bad, it was just a little humor
thank you so much! Im thinking about creating an object show, even if im not completelly sure if im going to really do it, and i kinda suck at writing however, this video is helping me giving my first steps!
I will make a new show even with not very much experience and here are some stuff in process Name: fight of the logos (based on logos more than objects) Contestants (some): 20th century fox, Warner bros pictures, ВИD, viacom, screen gems, warner animation group, and disney dvd (debuts in episode 4). Host: MGM Prize: probably 1 million dollars but not established yet Concept: competition but has non competition videos as unofficial episodes Eliminations: instead of the viewers voting, the opposing team to the ufe team will vote in top secret that the viewer wont see. Makes it suspenseful in my opinion until episode 4
I am trying to make an object show. Yes it is the competition format but I want to bring the traditional format to it's full potential. By making it contestant vote and every vote being strategic. All the characters will have a distinct personalities. I am seeking for advice. -I am planning to have a revote tiebreaker like in Survivor and have a tie in the revote. But I don't know whether to do rocks like in Survivor or have the people in the tie do a tiebreaker challenge. Edit: The show isn't going to be a paper show nor an object show. The characters will be humans instead. Edit 2: The tie in the re-vote will be determined by what event from a wheel with all sorts of events that could happen in order to determine to tie. If it happens during merge then the immunity winner(s) won't be affected regardless of what the wheel lands on. Like a fire-making contest amongst those in the tie. A fire-making contest amongst those not in the tie. A review on how many votes those in the tie got and the one with the most votes is out. A review on how many votes those not in the tie got and the one with the most votes is out. Overall best player in the challenge gets the final say amongst those in the tie. Overall best player in the challenge (1st place/MVP in the merge challenge or best player in the challenge out of everyone in the game, regardless of which team they're in.) gets the final say amongst those in the tie. Overall best player in the challenge (1st place/MVP in the merge challenge or best player in the challenge out of everyone in the game, regardless of which team they're in.) gets the final say amongst those not in the tie. Etc.
When I saw your first thing to seek advice on, I almost commented "The HoH will decide who will be evicted if a tie happens", Then I realized that I was to deep in the Big Brother fandom XDDD
I’m actually going to make an object show. Here is some info: Seasons: 3 Characters: around 12-16 (S1) 18 (S2) 24 (S3) Name: Object Trajectory Aimed towards: Teens and Older Kids Extra notes: 1: it will usually have multi part episodes Because I have a lot of ideas for OTR’s episodes. 2: I am planning on using a character from BFB (which is flower) I also know that I need permission from the creator of BFB to use her. 3: it will be an immediate off flash but I don’t have a computer yet So don’t expect episode one to come out soon.
I have fourteen characters that I’ve designed, most are original but I’ve some are similar to other characters. I didn’t copy anything intentionally though. The characters are -Candle -Cracker -Ice cream -Outlet -Cherry -Vase -Dagger -Tennis Racket -Sunflower seed -Arrow -Spatula -Key -Milkshake

Who has the highest percentage of votes is out of the game.
I must say, this is an amazing video! I have a question that might be a *little* off topic... a bit... got any tips on what flash or any animation app to use if you want to make an animatic object show such as: Paper Puppets Take 2, Twisted Turns, etc.
