Whatever you do, DO NOT do this quest at a high level, or at least with high armor and health stats. I remember waiting for him to kill me and it took forever, I tried finding other ways to decrease my health, like jumping off high places. I just gave up and left my game on for a while.

If you fail the Molag Bol quest, I think it keeps you from completing every daedric quest and you can't get the Oghma Infinium book. That is a MASSIVE loss in the late stages, passing up a +10 boosts in two attributes and three skills. Don't do that.

Gods, the nostalgia... I 100% cleared Oblivion(and it's two best expansions) back o ln my 360... Sadly, I had never connected it to the internet, and it was lost due to water damage... so I lost my save, all my achievements, and my completely filled quest log... I played for hours each day for a full year... If I had the money, I would buy it again, and do it all over again... BEST ELDER SCROLLS GAME!

I always hated this quest. I remember the process of being killed and revived by the alter bugging out my permanent buffs and quest rewards.

I remember when I did this quest for the first time many years ago, I failed because I was playing a very high level character with loads of enchanted gear, which also somewhere included reflect weapons (or whatever it is called). He ended up accidentally killing himself by hitting me reapetedly which was hilarious and is one of my favorite Oblivion memories.

Why anyone would willingly worship Molag Bal escapes me.

Ok so we know hes gonna cover whats left of the daedric quests and the fighters and mages guilds, what im curious about is if hes gonna go over the four dlc home/buildings or whatever you call them that are themed off the four guilds. He may have mentioned if he was going to or not but i dont remember.

As I have literally never played oblivion and have just been playing vicariously through your ... walkthroughs? Lore-throughs? I don't know much of anything about what happens in Oblivion... but it feels kinda like maybe that whole group of ppl were retired adventurers? Well, I mean in the end *you* retired them :D But yeah :D

Maybe a dumb question, but will these short videos later be uploaded as a long video. Like the ones of the brotherhood and thief guild questline. Also excuse my ignorance if this is not part of a long questline and can not be done. I never played Oblivion, but loved the long videos.

I always sacrificed the mace of molag bal to the main quest and let Martin destroy it. That thing kinda sucks in terms of all the other daedra uniques.

I am really starting to notice the similarities of some of the daedric princes have to Canaanite/Mesopotamian deities. Both in nature and in name.

Cannot wait for the Oblivion remaster. Hopefully the limitations of the original can be heavily improved.

Priest of Divines sending someone to seek help of Daedric cultist to learn conjuring, is like a christian priest sending you to satanist to learn how to develop your black magic. Especially since Conjuring should be taboo subject to Priests of Arkay especially. It is potentially interesting idea, that Daedra worshippers have infiltrated the clergy of the Divines and subtly sending the disillusioned to become thralls of Daedra. Though this is simply my headcanon for the confusing situation.

The mace looks so much better as the Cursed Mace. The Mace of Molag Bal in this game looks like it was made in China.

I had to pause at the two-minute mark right after the guy said he wanted to convert the Nords to worshiping the 9 from their heathen gods. While I know that Skyrim takes place many years after the events of Oblivion, I always got the impression that the Nords have been worshipping the 9 for long enough that they are offended that others are saying one of those guys isn't actually a god and it's the 8. Now I know that some Nords like the Foresworn don't worship the 9/8 divines. But after double checking the wiki, I see that the Foresworn was founded AFTER the events of Oblivion. So I'm really at a loss here. What primitive gods is this guy talking about and why are they next to nonexistent in Skyrim? The only thing I can think of (other than writer error) is that Oblivion takes place 200 years before the events of Skyrim and so perhaps in those 200 years the Divine warship truly did take such root that a "true Nord" would never renounce Talos as a god. Unfortunately, that doesn't feel like a good answer. If we consider RL and the US for example, that's only existed for less than 250 years and we are still aware of this land's history from BEFORE the US was a country. Sure the US is predominately Christian, but we aren't unaware of the Native Americans. Yet here I am playing Skyrim and being a lover of lore and fully unaware that apparently the Nords were fully converted to the 9 worship between these two games.

Rah you're not supposed to fast travel. It defeats the purpose of the game. Especially being a role player. Fast travel is cheating and I'm glad to see in the survival mode it's prevented. Take in the sights. Again. It's worth mentioning how deadly they can be, these fictitious worlds are also so beautiful. Not to be overlooked.

Still keeping up that "Gruffy" voice, eh? A bit less than previous, which was obviously just too much to watch Meh, sounds forced... it kinda makes the lisp you have even worse. I don't recommend it, but you do you i guess. Most popular ES videos from Drewmora and Fudge muppet are calm, and your natural, smooth voice would DEFINITELY fit the tone

I appreciate you sir. Providing perfect bedtime material and lore from a game i never get around to playing. Love me some elder scrolls, but i have no personal nostalgia for Oblivion to help me get through the more aged aspects of it. Documentarians on RU-vid definitely stoke my interest though
