David is an absolutely insane drummer. Def look up to him

Been watching David for a number of years and his move to Obscura is well deserved. His laser focus and economy of motion is unmatched . Dude's got a number of fun and creative years ahead and I'm excited to see it unfold!

finally! been a fan of David Diepold since his Shemhamforash cover

I was sceptial at first when I saw a video of him playing old Obscura stuff because he his face looked like he was struggling even though he played it perfectly. After digging deeper into his works I realized that David´s facial expression is not struggle but concentration. He is so tight and clean and makes fun to listen to and wathc. On this record he plays some really delicate beats and immerses perfectly into the general tone of the album. It sounds lame but he really did what he said in the video. You have very complicated and delicate "over the top" stuff but he also plays these brutal classic Death Metal patterns. I would even say that his style is some kind of revolutionary to Obscura because he managed to blend in perfectly. At some points he is doing incredible stuff that is almost incomprehensible and within the same song he just sticks to a super tight beat over the course of almost a minute of runtime. Which is not that often heard in Obscura. So bottom line is that I really appreciate him as a drummer, musician and part of Obscura. I hope he stays in the line up for a couple more years because he compliments their "new" / current style so good.

The drums are crazy but what caught my eye was the studio using Reaper!
