The Itemizer Orb/Mirror Move one is just so good, like it's amazing the devs even thought of that.

Since the game stops fast movement every time there is a decision to be made, you can actually use a Mobile Scarf to locate items in walls. If the decision to be made isn’t immediately obvious (like running into an enemy or reaching a fork in the path), then odds are that there’s an item in the wall.

0:34 I actually figured that out on my own. Its cool. The Terraformer IQ Skill was pretty common in Blue and Red, my Charizard and Swampert had it.

I remember meeting that shiny Ho Oh in Gates and just losing my mind. Took me forever to realize that’s whether it was shiny or not depended on if the reward was a Gold Ribbon or not

You can also get money as an item walking over the coin while pressing B so you stand on top of it. Then you open the menu, select "Ground" and switch it for another item in your inventory. Much easier imo

4:23 Wow, this is something I wish I knew back in the day. I remember spending a lot of time trying to recruit a female Umbreon, but I had a lot of difficulty finding one. Probably would've helped to know that looking for this Pokemon on odd-numbered floors would be a waste of time, especially considering I'm pretty sure I did most of my searching on the first floor. I know a lot about PMD and it’s one of my special interests but i didn’t know that shiny ho-oh fact! there’s not a lot of coverage of this series online (relative to other pokémon stuff especially) and so it can be hard to track down things like this! I also didn’t know the floor=gender one:) thank you for making this!

this video is great!! it's pretty nostalgic, not just because it's about mystery dungeon, but also the format of it i guess. i knew almost none of these facts as well, so you definitely picked some good ones! the gender differences one surprised me a lot, especially with genders being dependent on floors

Yo, I didn't know about the different genders having either an increased crit rate or increased evasion! I knew about what floors the genders got assigned, but I didn't know that. It certainly explains why my Chikorita partner dodged a lot of boss attacks.

This is a cool list of facts from the Mystery Dungeon series that I wasn't even aware about! I find the gender differences fact super interesting and it actually reminded me of something I found out years ago from playing Red Rescue Team on GBA through an emulator. During one of my (many) playthroughs of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team, I decided to put the move Attract on my player Pokemon (I was a Totodile for that playthrough) for giggles. The thought of a Totodile running around batting her eyelashes at Pokemon she was fighting and charming them with Attract was too hilarious of a mental image to not do in my mind then lol. However, I found out something interesting in doing that. We all know that during the Pokemon Quiz at the beginning of those games, we pick whether we are a boy or a girl (which has been pretty much a staple for the start of each Pokemon game, even Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games at times). But even if we *do* pick our gender, the game in Red Rescue Team doesn't seem to consider our choice when it comes to moves like Attract. Why? Because the Rescue Team games in particular didn't specify the gender of Pokemon you fought in dungeons. You could attract any and all opponents in the dungeon, regardless of your chosen gender in the game. Funny, right, lol? When I realized this, I was a *menace* using Attract in that game, lol. And then I went into one of the boss fights with one of the legendary birds. I think it was either Articuno or Zapdos, but I cannot remember completely. But in the middle of that fight, I accidentally picked Attract and used it on them. A simple mistake due to speeding up the emulator and a misclick. But then it WORKED. Turns out, Attract as a move is BUSTED, not just because of how it works, or how broken it is within those particular games and how gender works in those games specifically, but also because it technically can work on genderless Pokemon too because of those factors. INCLUDING legendary Pokemon. I still think that is hilarious to this day, if not slightly interesting/amusing, lol.

Tbh, gates and EOS alone could easily make up a dozen more of these videos by themselves considering all the weird oddities Like how they share a dungeon between both games! or how (iicr) gates's dlcs have certian items that never appear in any other pmd game except for scrapped content!

The shiny ho-oh looked awesome.

The money trick is actually doable completely on its own by any pokemon (at least in md2, i dont know if the mechanic is new to it). You have to hold the fast walk button (B on console) that allows you to walk over items without picking them up, and then just enter its command menu through ground in the main menu and swap it with something in your bag. Like other unintended items, it deals 2 damage when thrown, but if you sort your inventory it will disappear as an item and be added to your total money (note that this prevents Coin Watcher from increasing the yield). I don't know if it can get sticky or if this will affect its behavior at all.

This is a great video! I played the game a lot as a kid and even had the Time/Darkness guide you mentioned, but I didn't know most of the stuff here outside of the gender fact. These games continue to surprise me!

You can also get money as an item by just running over a coin so it doesn't automatically pick it up, and then set it as your held item via the menu's Ground options. I assume you're not including that one because it's not as funny though.

Alternatively with the Poké/Money thing; if you speed over it (like holding B while walking over it), you can also interact with it the same way as another item. Tossing it (even the skill to hurl it through walls affects it, hilariously) and it can do damage if the enemy doesn’t catch it. At least in the older games (Rescue and Explorers).

There is also quick save manipulation that guarantees kecleon recruit 100% Someone made a tutorial on that. No more grinding needed for the op lizard

I miss in red/blue rescue team when any pokemon could learn how to terraform dungeons. Some pokemon being unable to learn IQ skills like trap avoider to not step on visible traps and other IQ skills that feel like basic necessities was one of my least favourite things about the explorers series

one thing that is prob worth explaning every mon has there own iq pool wich does not change one bit meaning you can have 2 of the exact same mons iq wise but stat wise and move pool can be diffrent (this is very handy for eevee in the dungeon series as they all share the same iq pool)

Using cheats, you can recruit Primal Dialga and he has different dialogue than Dialga.

Fun fact: in Gates, if you bring two giant pokemons, go to the central part of Ragged Mountain and start a battle with a wild pokemon, the game will crash Edit: the crash happens only if you're playing on the 3ds/2ds i think

while the thing about the money is interesting, weren't you able to do the same just by moving over the item (I forget whether it was walking or running) and then going to inventory and choosing "swap"?
