The TurboGrafx 16 was my first console. I was the only kid that owned one. It had some weird games. It had a pack-in game called Keith Courage in the Alpha Zone. Very weird.
That's awesome, I bet all the neighborhood kids were like wtf is this thing? The first console I ever played was the Intellivision, not that I'm that old, but my Grandpa had one and when I went over there as a kid I played it. It was so basic it's funny. The first console I owned myself was an NES my mom bought for me as a kid. Thanks for the story and thanks for watching!!
As a 62 year old Japanese gamer I worked at Japan TV in 1984. We made a game to show called game center cx and you can find videos of it if u look hard enough. We used the Famicom titler for editing and graphics alongside other Sony equipment to edit video. The Famicom titler had special gen lock boxes made for tv industry to sync with our switchers. I remember when we upgraded to better equipment we literally threw away 50 or more titlers cuz they were obsolete. By then Nintendo sent us dev kits with the appropriate time code and sync outputs we required
It is crazy to think that not too long ago, games were just dots on a screen. Now with Unreal Engine 5 its almost like real life. Graphics and computing power have come such a long way. I cant wait to see what the future holds for gaming. I'm finishing up part 5 now and it will be up this week. Thanks for watching!
I just finished filming Tier 5, and the Fairchild Channel F is the first one on the list!. Only reason I put it so low is because I feel like most people don't actually even know about it. I'm finishing up editing tonight/tomorrow and plan to Premier it Thursday or Friday night. Thanks for your input and thanks for watching!

Correcting mistakes: 5:02 The SG-1000 was outsold right away, not in 1984 5:38 It's not that rare, quite a few were made. 8:48 The PC Engine was released in the 1980's too though 11:32 The Laseractive and CD-i beat it in this aspect
While I do agree, the tiers are set based on the popularity of them and how well they are known. My thought process was; if I asked people to start naming every video game console they could think of, how long would it take them to get to the TurboGrafx 16? I think there are a lot of other consoles they would name before they ever got to it, and thats how I ranked them on the iceberg. Thank you for your input and for watching!
I did a little bit of quick research and it doesn't seem like it was. There are a few "reference vehicles" that were built as exact copies of the movie Explorers, and they all have Panasonic electronics. The front monitor is a 9" Panasonic BT-S901, the rear is a 7" Panasonic BT-S702, and the CD/DVD player is also Panasonic from looking at pictures, but I couldnt see the model number. Good question though... Thanks for watching!
That is the only decision I actually think I made a mistake on. I dont know how I did that but I definitely feel the Turbo 16 was way more common and known than the SuperGrafx. I definitly plan to see if its possible to reorganize them in the full length doc without totally redoing both segments.
its not meant to go super in depth for each console, that would require a separate documentary for each one. its already going to be over 4 hours long by the time im finished. this is just an iceberg tier list, and simply that. i only spend 2-3 minutes briefly describing each console on the list, and i have to leave a lot of info out. thanks for watching though
