I am using the Obsession deodorant stick and love it. But sometimes an "old" fragrance might be too overwhelming in terms of projection and longevity. For example Calvin Klein's Escape in the vintage formulation, which is so strong to a point of too much and nauseously - even the after shave version - but the Escape deodorant stick itself is really lovely and nice. So I wonder if the vintage formulation of Obsession might be the same and how the newest reformation is ?
Thank you for your comment. I feel the newer formulation is quite the same but toned down. But the performance is the same. I haven't wore Escape in a few years. I think I might revisit it now.
@@danielsan3681 And the one u have reviewed is for men version?. Lately I have read that the presently after reformulation it is not at all potent but you say it is still potent and performs well even after reformulation a.
My first "expensive" fragrance....purchased in 1990-1991...was a little over $70. Only owned the one bottle, i was just a casual wearer back then, so it lasted forever. I remember cinnamon, vanilla, and to me was a slight powdery...but in a good way...not sure what that note was. I'm going to have to pick this back up just for memories sake. I have heard some men also like the ladies edp version because it lasts longer....but i haven't smelled that one. Thanks for the review.
Yep, I too love cinnamon in fragrance...but these are generally packaged with thick, creamy and gourmand notes and accords...well, just because they go so well together. I'm not a huge fan of Obsession (by bottle is much darker colored than yours) because I had bad allergies during the 80s and 90s and, to me, it just smells dated to the this time-period unlike some others. However, I do like wearing it when it gets colder, and it actually smells quite similar to the female Obsession perfume - they compliment one another. Again, the problem with cinnamon for year-round wear is that this notes is dense and tends to be cloying in the Texas and Southeaster Summer heat. That's just a sad fact of living down South. Anyway, here are some cinnamon prominent fragrances I enjoy wearing (as much as possible): Burberry London, Boucheron Jaipur Homme, Chanel Egoiste, Costume National Homme, Creed Original Santal, DSquared2 Potion, Gucci Pour Homme II, Hermes Ambre Narguile, Calvin Klein Obsession, L'Erbolario Dolcelisir, Montblanc Presence, Parfums de Marly Oajan/Herod, Perry Ellis M, The Body Shop Red Musk, The Body Shop Red Musk Oud, Viktor & Rolf Spicebomb, Pal Zileri Fougere e Legni, English Laundry Windsor Pour Homme, Shaik Opulent Shaik Blue No.77 and Hanae Mori HiM. Your best under $70 bets are: Boucheron Jaipur Homme (EDT and EDP), DSquared2 Potion (may be discontinued), Burberry London (high recommended...even though it smells like Christmas), Perry Ellis M, The Body Shop Red Musk (may be discontinued), Gucci Pour Homme II (if you like a fresh tea-cinnamon scent), Montblanc Individuel (Original Santal smell-a-like) and Montblanc Presence (don't overlook this one since it's definitely a freshie, English Laundry Windsor Pour Homme and Hanae Mori HiM. The last two are definitely cinnamon heavy scents that have their fan base...sadly, there is something about each that didn't mix well with my skin chemistry (smelled fantastic on paper though). Finally, don't dismiss shelling-out $110 for Costume National Homme if you're into a bombastic cinnamon-cloves scents. Cheers.
Greetings Daniel, the few only affordable Cinnamon dominant versatile frags I can think of is Azzaro pour homme Intense and Alexandria Hafez Exclusive.
