Ben, did you watch Obsidian October Week 4 talks on the Obsidian channel? An interesting demo in the second half about using Svelte in plugins. It looks like a good lightweight fit compared to struggling with React or Vue frameworks.
The way I see it selling information in the digital age is unethical. Books make sense since there is cost of production. But digital is free to reproduce. Not only that, but it actually takes effort to keep the information secret. Which means as a human you are spending time and effort actively preventing people from gaining something that would help them and if you did't do that they would gain value. As a human, how is that ethical? To be clear, I think info workers should be payed, but it should be for their time. So up front like a scientist gets money to spend time trying to get the answer to a question. Educators should be paid for the process of teaching, coaching, aiding in practice, support and such. That's my thought on it. Coming from someone who is getting into the alternative education industry themselves.
Interesting perspective! It's definitely a tricky line to navigate, but one that I think we all must continue trying to figure out as the world continues to grow and evolve with how we disseminate information.
