As an option, you could use the vanilla basalt generator (soul soil next to blue ice, lava over the top) and then use the destructor block from refined storage
@@ICountFrom0 I don't know much about minecraft anymore, but ya watching I was thinking uhh... I'm pretty sure you can create basalt, without machines :)
Dire, I'm making a separate comment so hopefully you see it. Don't use a fluid trash can in your lava setup, the system will get confused and send lava there while there is still room in the tank. Use an item trash can. When it can't export to a tank, it makes an item that contains one bucket of lava. If it can't send that anywhere, it shuts off. With an item trash can, it'll have a place to send that, so it'll only void lava when the tank is full.
Fluid trashcan also works, but it needs to be the 'furthest' destination. It's the setup I use in my world, no issues with keeping my Magmators powered and tanks filled
The igneous extruder is so much easier to set up than the myst ag seeds, and you can save your ice and nether essence for something else, like blue ice for your reactors.
@@robertpickel2447 Older versions of the extruder didn't consume anything for making cobblestone, but did consume small amounts of liquids for any other kind of block. I'm not sure if he's used it since it became a device rather than a machine, though.
In myst ags defense.... It wouldn't be so hard if he would actually look a little closer to find the mechanical user. It's called something odd in this pack but can make his whole farming field much easier
The extruder isn't how it used to be, you don't have to put any materials in the machine, ice on one side, lava on the other, with the soul sand underneath. Auto production of the ice isn't necessary. Just need one piece.
Every 200th video or so, he seems to read the comments. So I've left a comment about the Igneous Extruder on almost every video so far. Let's hope he sees it. The Igneous Extruder is basically a CobbleGen and doesn't consume anything, passively making whatever block it is set up to make. The block it sits on top of and the liquids/blocks surrounding it determine its output.
I did blursed earth mob farm and had more mob souls than I knew what to do with. Running my entire basalt production off of the jar mod and it easily keeps a diamond sluice going continually.
for future viewers: you can feed power and items through the entangler directly to the plant sower (it can be entangled directly), which means you can save on a lot of the diremadness
Dire - upgrade your crushed basalt sluice into a Netherite one with your first Netherite ingot! This allows you to get upgrades that vastly increase the chance to get Debris Scraps for each operation, as well as ones that make it run faster and use less lava! With those upgrades you'll have more Netherite than you know what to do with!
You can do on demand lava generation if you go to the nether and steal a blaze spawner with mekanism boxes, then bring it to the overworld and make a generic mob grinder with mob grinding utilities. You can get like 5 blaze rods per blaze and each blaze rod can be converted into approximately 1.25 buckets of lava with mechanical squeezers
just watched this from episode 1 to 26 over the past few days.. then got sad because im all caught up.. then seen the new vid posted today... the addiction will continue.
Another way to get basault in groves is to hit up the nether. Those new pigman fortresses have a tonne of it just sitting there waiting to be harvested for sluicing
Get a bigger tank, it'll solve a lot of your lava issues with the automation interfaces turning off. Also use the Igneous Extruder; it doesn't consume its reagents so for basalt it only requires soul soil under it and then lava and blue ice on two sides of it.
hmm dire is all about the wireless but makes me wonder... does he NOT know he can hook up an ender chest to the Storage system? and use it to be a wireless storage storing? Also lets him take an ender bag with him and throw all the goodies in that which would then be input directly into his storage system? that also functions in other dimensions?
Honestly, the funniest part of all of this is that Dire's lack of vanilla knowledge is bending him over backwards on 'basalt' .. It's not like he has a way to 'automatically' break a basalt block that would theoretically be created if a lava flowed onto ... Say soul soil, with blue ice sitting ontop of the lava flow... that just happens to be on the soul soil it self.... There was absolutely no hints what so ever in the modded reciepe, and no one could have figured it out.. *cough cough* It's not like there are machines in vanilla minecraft that can create more basalt when you break one & move them away from the lava... nor are there flying machines that basically create a path out of basalt from the nether lava. >.> .. nope not at all. XD I mean, it's not like basalt is on the tier with cobble in terms of infinite generation of material for even vanilla Minecraft... *cough cough cough cough*
something that could tide you over until you have network transmitters/receivers is to use ender chests. some stack and speed upgrades are easy to make, and the transfer is decent. I've rarely had clogging issues - in fact I sometimes forget about it until long after I have netherite.. ^.^ looking forward to your next video!
Place a entangled block near the refined storage or underground rooms.....and binf it to the drawer controller of essences and set up a external storage to it...... That way you don't have to think about dire wire
@Direwolf20 if nobody have told you this yet, you can just use one of those mystical dusts on a already vanilla farmland and they becomes the correspondent farmland. I think the crafting receipt is for when you don't have silk touch and need one of those in a pot...
you can just click the mystical essences on the farmland to upgrade them to mystical agriculture farmland that way you also get the essences back if you break the blocks. additionally there is a locking feature in the plant sower. that way. you also don't have to use regulator mode. also the igneous extruder doesn't consume the items you place the soul soil under it the lava on one side and blue ice on the other.
I think I remember him trying the planter locks, but it only locks type, not amount, so it could just fill up all the space with one type of seed if it was made more than the others.
And if you want to upgrade your farmland, you can recover your essences by silk touching it and tossing the essence farmland into a recycler. Which is useful for going any higher than tertium.
Dire last episode Create Ender Tank for Lava Also Dire forgets this and sets up lava production for the sluice To be fair the way Dire did it was most likely slightly cheaper on resources haha
And the fact that the yearly November backlog probably just finished (granted, Dire did "start noticing" RU-vid comments last episode). (Still waiting for Dire to right click farmland with essence, though...)
Specifically, the little red 'heart piece' trinkets that boost your health. Those recycle down to a netherite ingot each. I had a netherite sieve quite early by using this.
Fair warning when using the auto-hammers - they have a massive output buffer that can hold (at least) tens of thousands of items. Best keep an eye on them if you set up processing chains that dont use the output as fast as it gets produced without a way to void the extra.
I went the liquid mob soul + lava to get basalt. Blessed earth mob farm gives a ton of mob souls, just pipe into the jar. An ender tank in the nether for all the lava both to the jar and sluice!
Ancient Debris tip - once you get to netherite seeds (which give ingots), you'll still need netherite scraps for a few Industrial Foregoing crafts. There *IS* a sneaky way to get the scraps without resorting to sluicing 50 million basalt... Also, "Agglomeratio"? Wasn't it called Agglomero" at one point, or have I just been seeing things? heh Also also, is it just me, or do the hydroponic beds share power!? That makes cabling slightly easier.
@@csokasg *Spoiler Wall* Crush netherite ingots with an Immersive Engineering crusher, then use a combiner to turn it back into ancient debris, then use the Mekanism crusher to get 3 dirty scraps, and enrich that for the scrap. Those can be used for the Advanced Machine Frame recipes. Yes, it's a loss, but then again, when you have netherite seeds, you pretty much have infinite netherite.
The hydroponic beds do share power and fluids. They are so OP, mine have the speed, efficiency and processing add-on and ether gas. I’m getting 1 awakened draconian essence every 2 seconds from one bed at 12.5 rf/t. The power pots suck up too much power for my liking. You’d need a reactor for every one.
You have to have the igneous extruder on top of soul soil, with lava on one side and blue ice (a lot of crafting with the ice essence essentially) on the other to just pump out basalt. I'm pretty sure it has to be powered though.
There is basalt in some of the underwater structures - you should be able to get multiple stacks of basalt from each of the "baseball diamond" looking structures. But really - why not skip straight to basalt seeds?
My path to netherite was finding one of those big undersea basalt monuments, taking enough chisel basalt (raw) blocks to make basalt seeds, making a ton of of basalt (raw) out of the essence, chiseling it into regular basalt, crusing it, sluicing it, then making enough netherite to make netherite seeds. It took me three hours of sailing in my world to find the structure, which had me cursing dire for his luck with how quickly he found one earlier in the series. BTW netherite auto hammers can hammer compressed blocks at least up to 2x, haven't tried any higher because I'm using compacting drawers for my sluicing setup and they only compress up to 2x.
it would be smart to just plant more of the seeds you need to make the basalt then get unlimited amounts of basalts so you can crush and make unlimited netherite stuffs and not wait 10 years for 60 basalt by way of blood magic.
I haven't seen this video yet. I do have basalt seeds I've been growing. Got a rod of earth so I can place dirt blocks down for a small amount of mana. I did get one ender pearl, not from my mod farm. The mod farm is a little disappointing. Too many mobs spawning under the ocean, including drowned, so not many in the farm, and no endermen. I'm making progress slowly. You (Direwolf) are making progress much faster than I am. My current death count is 3X. I've been doing a lot of fishing and some smelting in a vanilla furnace to gain experience levels. Making charcoal is something I've been doing to produce mana from my "Endoflames." Keep up the good work. I look to you for suggestions for what to do in my own game. Power for my base is currently supplied by 2 wind turbines and one solar panel. I also got into "Refined Storage" as my storage system. I do intend to get into "Applied Energistics" at some point, mostly because there are quest items for both mods. I still have not gone to the nether, or the end. I hope others watching this series find it as helpful as I do. I really wish I had more ender pearls. Having a few ender chests would be most helpful to simplify my automation. @ 2:24 I use a crusher to make my crushed basalt. That being said, you have to use chisel to convert your basalt into a form that can be used. At least that is the case for my game. I also use the jars mod to make the lava I need for my sluice. @ 5:01 Oh, you use the same button technique I use for creating seeds. That really is the easiest way to trigger the creation.
The easiest way to trigger the seed creation is to put a block of redstone under the seed altar, so that if you have everything in place it automatically starts
You can also get netherite by scrapping some of the trinkets in a recycler, particularly the heart pieces. Which you can most easily get from looting crates and barrels in the nether.
Today on Dire Doesn't Vanilla: Basalt Generation! Flowing lava on top of Soul Soil and adjacent to Blue Ice will produce Basalt much like a Cobblestone Generator with lava and water. In other packs without a nearly empty Nether, you could also find a LOT of Basalt in the Basalt Deltas biome.
BLURSED EARTH! a trivial mob farm will give you resources for days including more mob souls than you know what to do with. automating that into basalt with jars is trivial. (also a mob farm is a significantly better source of inferium essence than seeds)
To further compact your lava production, just know that the jar auto processor tries to connect to adjacent blocks, so you dont need yo keep everything one spot away like thst. EDIT: notjce the green check or red X next to your item in the jar auto crafter? thats what indicates if it has the items. If the jar does not have the items, itll keep running and trying until it does. If the jar fills all attatched inventories and has to then drop an item, it stops. (i would prefer it just hold the item in a buffer and resume when items become available but whatever)
Faster way to empty the drawers or other large inventories would be to attach it to the blue item pipes with a pull connection, same as you have on the harvester. That should suck whatever's in the drawer into the pipe system, which would route to the new drawers. Also, look closer for basalt in the nether. I saw it flash up for a quick second when you were mousing over the north blackstone fortress thing, so zoom in on that.
Well fast and in bulk Basalt? How about RS destucter + vanila generation? Shuld be more then enough maybemake a second sub network for this and use a drawer for storage that both system access? Sounds fun!
Drums from Mini Utilities are really good tanks. The fully upgraded Drum holds the max allowed limit and isn't that hard to make, a loooot easier than the final black hole form.
You can just use the entanglers on the drawer controllers for your essence and seeds and use refined ext storage connects to connect them into the system. And you can entangle your sowers instead of the drawer and drawer controllers under each sower. I've also found that growth accelerators under the sower will still work on the block above it.
@Direwolf20 Basalt generator i a a vanilla thing ... u make it with lava flowing on to the soulsand/ soulsoil and when the lava hits the packed ice it will turn into basalt on top of the soul stuff
the blue ice is just a thing that sits there and is not consumed and thats the same thing as soul soil, the only thing it uses is the lava cause in vanilla u can make a bassalt generator if lava, soul soil and blue ice are nect to each other so lava in the middle and blue ice left and soul soil down for example so its much easier :D. love from greece.
Those structures under water that had the double pyramid like shape with spawners and loot barrels in them were made of basalt, you could visit those and get a some easy basalt.
here dire a little tip and trick vanilla edition you can make basalt generator you will need a bucket of lava , blue ice and soul soil . you will need a 3 by 1 space . now place the blue ice on either side right next to the blue ice should air block below the air block should be soul soil now no the opposite of the blue ice should be lava
the only reason the transporter doesn't place, is you need to have another block that is 1 away for it to place a second one. the first won't place otherwise
