Brother I'm so happy to see someone else leave a very similar comment I made. Im not looking for a sympathy card or will go into a novel detail but most days I am couch ridden from chronic pain. XTheyans channel not only is one of its kind but it also makes a postive impact in my life to think of great tines with some really solid friends at shows. I wish you well...
I agree. I don't think naming bands is against the guidelines but until 3 days ago I did hear 3 separate bands that were the so unique, but before then I said to myself, " everything is starting to sound the same or copying Ramos, but you can hit my screen name and see the bands that really are a break through sound in my own opion, but of course in my opion as well the late 90's and 2000's was a time that will be timeless. : )
I just can't support Attila as mentioned in a comment. Im not going to fault their fans. They have alot of courage to do what they call "party core" and it seems anyone in H.C. scene either loves em or hates em. I'm old school. I'm 43 so I'm more into bands like Remembering Never and Terror or Hatebreed. I don't wanna hear about the girls you got drunk with and pounded. Just irrates me.
Now we need a Annotations Of An Autopsy Vid they were insane the first time I ever heard welcome to sludge city or gore gore gadget And could agree more Oceano was like a punch to the face the first time anyone heard them top tier deathcore 💪
Great channel you got going. Some bands i suggest you could cover are Impending Doom, Molotov Solution, Demolisher, Monsters, Suffokate, As Blood Runs Black, Carnifex, All Shall Perish, Dr. Acula, I Declare War
I remember going a show in PA with Oceano and a couple of other bands and I walked around between sets and went down an alley to smoke some weed and the alley was really dark and as I was walking all I see is a figure in the dark and all i could see was his snake bites and the red glow of a cigarette. Turns out it was Adam the lead singer and we talked for a while and shit. He was such a cool guy he saw me after Oceanos set and gave me a tshirt. I still listen to Depths all the time while driving to work. Fractured frames scattered flesh is my favorite song. I know it's not deathcore but a video about HORSE the band would be great. They weren't deathcore but they impacted the myspace metal scene a lot in my opinion.
I appreciate these videos a lot! When I think of deathcore, Oceano instantly comes to mind. I was introduced to them, believe it or not by MTV when they had Headbanger's Ball in 2009. I would stay up late on Tuesday school nights to catch it bc they would air the show shortly after midnight. They aired the video for District Of Misery and I was blown tf away. So much power in Adam's presence and voice, heavy ass riffs and undeniably catchy. All my friend's at school at the time that liked the kind of music were talking about them. Been a huge fan of them since. I got to play a show with them 7 years ago, it felt so full circle for me at the time. Hope they put some more stuff out quickly, Mass Produced was soooo good.
Great video. I would like to mention a tiny venue/ rehearsal space that was from 2005-2008 called the sound lab in Mokena IL. This placed harbored alot of early music like Oceano. Adam was a frequent person that would be around alot in those early days. Other bands that i saw that came up from hat time was Veil of Maya and After the burial. It wild to see how popular these band have become. Keep coming with the videos.
Hey not sure if you'll see this but just wanted to thank you for putting your time into making these videos. I was born in December of 1999 and didn't really get into deathcore/metal until I was around 16 so I missed out on the whole Myspace era, but your vids made me check out these older bands and I'm so glad I did. I love the rawness that I feel is missing from deathcore today and it gives me a whole new appreciation for these bands I would have otherwise never looked into.
I really appreciate your comment !! I do my videos exactly for that reason too, I mean I'm glad I can make you discover these amazing bands and feel the experience of the good old days 🤘🏻🔥
Got the pleasure of seeing these guys in the very beginning. My guy Josh Goor put on a birthday show and booked these guys,(Goor Fest) as well as Waking the Cadaver and about 15 other bands. Still, to this day, one of my favorite shows ever. Josh was the front man for Mars Needs Cheerleaders. They weren't huge but were really good in the Myspace era.
There's a few videos floating around on YT of Mars. And some of GoorFest I think. Not sure if anyone got video of Oceano or WTC from that show tho. It was prime tho. Back in the good ole days lol
I absolutely love your videos. You have a great future ahead of you, please keep it up. I got Depths for Easter when I was a kid when it first came out!
I was literally waiting for this one cause we all know it's one of those true Deathcore classics no one can miss! Also like Hell chose me from Carnifex and Decimate the weak from Winds of plague 😈😎
I discovered Oceano on a magazine cover, i didn't have internet access back then so i would always go to Barnes and Nobles to check out the metal magazines for new bands. The second show i ever been to back in 09 i saw Oceano the With Emmure and Beneath The Rapture. Veil Of Maya was supposed to be there but their van broke down sadly.
Before OCEANO I remember thinking Linkin Park was heavy. My friend told me about OCEANO and I was instantly hooked! Waking the Cadaver, Doom Cannon, Annotations of an Autospy and so many others went so hard back in the day!
I saw them for the first time in a tour with STP and it was fucking brutal, the pit all the time was an slaugther house Haha! It was the perfect first impresion. Cheers from Mexico my dude, keep the amazing videos!
My favorite part of your videos is being just in my “discovering music phase” right at the end of MySpace deathcore. My favorite era happened between ages 10 and 13 and I didn’t get to experience it firsthand. Live vicariously and live heavy I guess.
Between contagion & incisions adam joined a band called demolisher that are still to this day so highly slept on, he only got to drop 2 singles with them breaking point & violent society, still so heavy though 😭
Same, Oceano, Born Of Osiris, Veil Of Maya (Deathcore), Job For A Cowboy, Rings Of Saturn, and a few more.. miss those days... such nostalgia. Edit: Chelsea Grin, Emmure, Attila and Whitechapel are some great bands still from that era imo.
My cousin put me on oceano after i tried showing my family some of the music i like and when i was leaving, he dapped me up and said check out oceano Never forget🙏
Epic videos, legend. Found your channel today. Great stuff! Taking us all for a walk down Memory Lane. The good old days. Agreed with you. Adam’s voice is very unique. Still today. Oceano still one of the best out there in 2023. ❤ Lucid Reality. That Track is flawless.
Oceano!! Been a fan for awhile... lol, i spoke with Adam about a new album and he was like, woah, didn't say anything about a new album. Just a few songs.. this was like a year ago lol. Edit: Been a fan since Depths to be specific
Bro, I just found you a couple days ago and I gotta say....I fucking love it. I'm 40. I grew up in the scene, played in bands, went to every show, still love it, the whole nine yards. This tugs at my heart strings so hard. I still listen to all these bands. I still play all my favorite riffs and breakdowns every night on my shitty line 6 spider. I appreciate your appreciation, and celebration of the best scene to ever exist. Thank you, sir. I subbed. Also, side note, have you heard Boundaries? I think they're the best newer band that does this throw back metalcore style. Even though they're, like hardcore vegan, and I think straightedge, I'll forgive em. Check em out if you haven't. Much love, bro. Be well. Thank you.
Loved the video🔥. Definitely my favourite band. Adam is such a beast with very unique gutturals. I watch his live streams and i think he's such a wholesome guy.
I was in middle school listening to Escape The Fate and Silverstein when this record came out. A friend showed me District of Misery and Braille (For Stevie Wonders Eyes Only) as my introductory to deathcore and Oceano instantly became one of my favs! Never heard anything with that much impact before then and it has aged phenomenally!
I'd love to see you do a video on The Faceless in their Myspace days. I remember finding them with like 6 thousand followers and was completely blown away when I heard Akeldama. Then out of nowhere they exploded. Would also love to see some of the weird ones like Sky Eats Airplane and Heavy Heavy Low Low
Oceano - Some of Chicago's FINEST!! I will never forget driving to Raleigh, North Carolina in 2010 to support my all-time favorite band Bleeding Through. Oceano was also an opener. After their set the lead guitarist came up to me in the parking lot and asked if he could get a cigarette as I was smoking one. As we are just standing there chillin he says to me "Dude, I just had to meet you! Your shirt is AMAZING!!" -- I was wearing my tour shirt from Bleeding Through's 2006 tour when they opened for Slayer and Marilyn Manson. My shirt had the lyrics "Fuck You Forever" on them. -- What happens next!? The lead guitarist lifts up his shirt. He has the same lyrics tattooed onto his stomach. It was such a great moment with the mighty Oceano! \m/
dope video. i agree they dont get the appreciacion they deserve, i definitely put them on my mount rushmore of deathcore: suicide silence with mitch, whitechapels first 3 albums, chelsea grin ep and first album, and first two oceano albums
I just went down the rabbit hole watchin all your videos lol i miss these days so much 😩 definitely need a black rose burial, despised icon, the boy will drown, the breathing process, abigail williams, the red shore, war from a harlots mouth Shit you could do a whole video on the seige of amida records that label had all my favorite bands back then lol
I saw them live with As Blood Runs Black at the Intersection in Grand Rapids & was all deathcore bands (a rarity & appeal to my buddy) around 10-15 years ago. Sadly time flies
Dude I love the memories you are bringing up from the past, this is back when life was good bro thanks for videos from this era. I was listening to oceano from the start. Can you do a tony danza tapdance extravaganza next, they never got the credit they deserved.
Fuck yeah, I remember Warren replacing Alex from Chelsea Grin for a while, probably one of the best performer live back then. Shit was tight af Edit: Why does the demo sounds like Waking the cadaver lmao
Bro I can relate and agree with every video I have seen ypu have done. Oceano stopped time for a brief moment in my life. I couldn't stop listening to Depths. Waz a masterpiece and that L.P. really caught my attention. I honestly didn't really care for their following L.P. but that is just me. I think I just became spoiled by Depths it was a master piece as you said. and they are all brilliant artists. Seeing them live was incredible as well. Man you really are spot on in every video I have seen. I'm so grateful I have subscribed to your channel. No other channel has my attention as your does. I hope more people discover your channel, its just very pleasant and enjoyable to watch especially to hear you say information that most people don't know and I dint everything but I defenitly follow all of these bands. Keep the videos coming more fans will catch up and hopefully at around 100K subscribers ypu will have enough money from your well earned Utube check then just enjoy music and f*** a job. Im know you likely could cars less about the money but I want good things for you man, you respond to everyone's comments, you deserve recognition my friend Probably your accent that makes you catchy bro, lol J.k..
Thank you so much for your kind words man, it truly means a lot to me ! With my channel , I'll keep going no matter what because it's important to me. If one day it becomes my full time job, I'll be more than happy but I'm not taking anything for granted and I love doing videos ... I'm really happy you're enjoying my videos and I'll do my best to keep the best quality possible ! 🤘🏻🔥
@xtheyan that's awsome that your enjoying it and I defenitly enjoy more on the 83 inch t.v. with surround sound, you may have answered this question or I just havnt caught it on a video but do you have a band on Spotify your playing on have played in ?
Can u do NC metal, like the glass casket & between the buried and me stuff OR the SENECA/ demonstration/ killwhitneydead stuff (with an emphasis on the first seneca album) 😂
Every time i saw them there was always a fight... haha it was great. Adam threw the mic at the guy starting the fight and went out there and stopped them. Great shows
Lol. Loved your comment. Ocean's shows were legendary. Man being amongst friends and knowing I was safe but going over my parents house the next day with a tooth missing and saying a friend did it had them so confused
So I am currently on a binge of your content for nostalgia purposes, and I am here because I saw a date on their myspace page that had the venue my old local band played to open up for them. Adam is the nicest dude ever, he was even moshing for our band lmao. Can you do ABACABB or And Hell Followed With next??
Fuck yeaaaaaaaaah I remember hearing district of misery in 9th grade, and us being so stoked we had to go jam after hearing it hahahaha Acacia strain at some point maybe??
your channel is awesome. nostalgia hits hard with me. keep up the good work. some bands suggestions from would be: suffokate infant annihilator carnifex ✌🏻 from Scranton, Pa 🤘🏻
I saw them a couple years ago with TLTSOL carbomb and B.O.O Adam did a no mic scream that ripped through the place what a fucking powerhouse vocalist and all around cool as fuck dude love oceano
Just found your channel and this is the content I’m here for! I love learning about all these heavy ass bands I grew up listening to. May I suggest a video on annotations of an autopsy. Welcome to sludge city was on my myspace profile 🤣
Unpopular opinion probably but as much as I like their classic albums, Incisions is my favorite album by Oceano. I guess it's just more melodic to me and I really love melody a lot in my metal
