@@BuddzBunnyHDI’ve seen them live 4 times. Twice with James and Twice with Jake. All 4 times rank in the top 15 of the 200 or so shows I’ve been to. Absolutely blow this guy out of the water. This is worse than that period of Asking Alexandria in 2014 where Danny had just absolutely given up on them.
Seems strange Joel singing this when song was about James coming back. He seems a lot better clean singer on the new song video. Just shows what can be done in the studio
Considering this is first time clean singing I don’t think he sounds any worse then the other vocalists sounded live when they had already been doing it for years
@@heffywheeler5774 I think the same, he is not the best clean singer, but he is not below the previous ones, live the clean voices never sounded good in OAA
@@Agup666 he was still learning these songs like a week before they went, they didn’t even do a proper practice, and this is also the 4th show so I think considering he’s on par with the others already I think it’s safe to say by the time they come round again he would of perfected it, but personally still really enjoyed the show and think he killed it
Absolutely brutal. Jake had some of the worst live clean vocals I’ve ever heard, and this guy isn’t much better. You can literally hear the vocal processing in his cleans on the new single. Lol
Personally, I think they should ditch a lot of the melodic songs on the setlist and play the heavier ones to accommodate for his low vocals because obviously cleans are not his strong suit.
@@heffywheeler5774If you only realized how shitty these people are behind the scenes you wouldn’t be supporting this lol. Not to mention they picked another weak vocalist. OAA has always been a good instrumental band but their vocals have lacked since their founding.
He needs some vocal coaching, he sounds so monotonous with the same pitch screaming. His high scream isn't great at all and the cleans lack tone. You can hear the amount of editing on the chorus of the latest single. He has decent presence, but that singing is not good. He has potential though. James' vocals were far superior.
I do like the new vocalist, but I was definitely disappointed by his highs in this performance. @1:38 the chopped highs is literally one of the parts that makes this song for me. And he just didn't even try. Lows are really good for sure, but you need a vocalist that can do good highs if you wanna play any OAA songs.
@0:54 he gets a really good high in, so he is definitely capable but I'd love to see him work on the highs more considering how good his lows already are
OAA are in a circle 😂. They get a vocalist that can do cleans and screaming, he leaves, and they take a vocalist that can do only screaming (optional) and can barely sing live 😂
he is in the process of learning high-pitched screams, so far he sounds like a pterodactyl, but at new concerts he is trying more and more mid and high
The new lead vocals is a beast and also has good cleans, but I can say that his voice doesn't fit to sing metamorph or any other previous OAA songs and apparently he does fit to become a great deathcore vocals instead, imo.
I have the same opinion, the best album from them is Hikari and the best vocalist no are the original singer, is Jake Noakes forever, he change the vibe from OAA, and putting the japanese instrumental, Hikari is a masterpiece (Sorry for my english, i'm Brazilian and i agree with you)
@@heffywheeler5774 lol read the room. Everyone feels the same besides the people who dickride the band so hard they can’t even see the fact the new vocalist sucks and can only hit deep screams. If that’s your cup of tea I’m happy for you. James was way more versatile and that’s just a fact.
they need to do away with the melodies and get more brutal. all of their singers weren't great singers to begin with but they had amazing lows and growls like a demon
Don’t speak unless you actually know what you’re talking about. Do a little research and you’d know that he’s the most versatile vocalist they’ve had so far.
@@brenthernandez6203 I also know what I’m talking about especially as a vocalist. You don’t know what you’re talking about. New single showcased false chord mids, false chord lows, gutterals, fry mids, cleans, and pitched screams/ pitch screamed cleans. Normal fry screams too. He can also do highs, he’s just not used to it and hasn’t played songs like this live before nor has he ever clean singed live. They barely had practice either for this.
@@brenthernandez6203 also, go look up his band “Spitting Teeth”. Listen to the track Live Execution and go to 2:00 mark and listen all the way to the end. He’s got a beautiful high at the end with some evil ass twang at the last note.
@@AirRedbox Releasing a song simply to showcase what you can do in the studio doesn't really say much. like... I'm a Vocalist myself with covers, and live vocal demonstrations on my channel and some originals posted on other platforms. I can make Crazy showcases doing whistle notes and screams, low deep gutteral toilet bowl noises, powerful mid screams... pig squeals, insane yelly screams. high fry screams, goblin noises, clean singing, grit singing. but it means nothing if I can't get comfortable enough to naturally flow between the styles live. so yeah... they made a new song with him showing great sounding vocals... but he's not even bothering to showcase them off at all. maybe in time he'll get more comfortable and start doing more with his voice but it's still a big disappointment...
James' singing sucks too. Jakes used to be a very good singer but he couldn't even be heard live. This man had never sung in front of a crowd and honestly he sounds good, had a solid voice.
