When I was a kid, my mom made me take organ lessons, and I hated it. I wanted nothing more than to learn to play the piano that was in the lesson room, but back then, my family had an organ, so that's what I learned. I hated chords, they were so hard for me to figure out.....I quit after a year or so.... jumping ahead many many years, I ended up being the substitute organist at my church for the years I attended there. I have since taught myself how to read the bass clef and am slowly learning how to play piano. Never did I ever think I could play this song....this is my favorite Christian song right now....and I thank you. Together with your tutorial and a chord sheet, I can play this song! This is totally amazing! I never knew I had this in me! Thanks so much for posting this! You are incredible!

Ok its been months now and my playing has grown so much. The little riff of sus2 and sus4 is the kind of thing that motivates me to press into my practicing even more. It is so cool to notice that after several months of practicing and using cheat sheets and watching the videos, I'm to the place where I can see different inversions, different rhythms, all the while keeping my hands close together and fluid! As keys player at church my job is often to play the melody for the congregation while everybody else plays rhythm and keeps the beat. I'm finding that different inversions help me to play the melody in a much easier way that everything in 1st inversion. All that to say thanks Wayne for what you do, this is a life that you have touched and encouraged.

Great teacher!!! I'm a singer so learning to play piano is a bit of a new thing for me. But I like that you bend your other fingers so I can see what notes you're playing and that you slow down for me. I also like that you name the note and explain the inverse thing. I like to worship alone sometimes and being able to play the songs is important. Thank you!! Please post more.

+Cassidy Koller If you learn chords and where they are, then you can ignore most of what he's saying. I only started playing in 2014, but channels like worship piano tutorials and todd downing help a lot.

Just pause the video and place your hands and than play it again and when you know some of it practice that part and than move on when you really know it. I swear it helps

Practise Your passages "just ten minutes" each day or second day. After two weeks You will be much better. Just don't stop

@CJ Koller, it's only hard if you let it be. I used to play piano like a mad man, and then i stopped for about 10 years. I am now just getting back into playing. It is rough for me, but if you continue to practice, you'll pick it up quickly. I don't know how to read chord sheets, NOR sheet music. I also don't know my chords. Just play the video piece by piece and practice each chord individually. every time you think you have the chord learned, add another, then another, then another until you got the hang of it. play the song all the way through WITH the original recording, and you'll be able to pick up on the changes. soon enough you'll be able to sing to the song. if you think this song is hard, try "Mighty Warrior". That was my first song to practice lol.

Guys for the bridge it is 6 times. The bridge that he taught you play it for three times. Then you play G, D, A and Em only once. Then you play Bm, A/C#, D, and them Em twice

Yes! Except the last chord progression should be Bm, A/C#, D, A, Em since the A/C# is just a transition to D.

Thanks Man. This step by step tutorial has helped me to build in a slight systematic approach to my playing. I usually just play from the lower notes to the higher notes, or let's say I have a tendency to do that. I do build up, but usually just by ear, without thinking about it bevore. Well done!
