It will take you a while, I got second hand alto Saxophone and I have been practicing and learning for quite some time, I found a good teacher that also helps but my advice would be to learn to walk 🚶‍♂️ before you can run 🏃‍♂️. It takes time and patience

Thank you! Here are a few things to consider. What are your goals when it comes to playing the sax? What is it that you truly want? Reminders: First and most important, be patient with yourself and your progress. Again be very patient! Practicing 15 mins a day will get you further than practicing for 5 hours one day a week. Equipment: - Get a small strength Reed. (Strength 2 or less). It will help the sound to come out a lot easier. -I recommend getting a mouthpiece patch for your mouthpiece. It’s not necessary, but it will make playing a lot more comfortable. I recommend the clear ones or the black ones by Vandoren. Practice: - Practice long tones through the complete range of your instrument to develop a smoother sound. - Learn all 12 major scales and arpeggios to develop agility and fluidity on your instrument. -Learn your favorite songs in multiple Keys! - Most importantly, Have fun :) Once you are feeling more comfortable on the instrument, and depending on your goals, invest in a teacher.
