Man it hurts to watch this. Easily my favorite band of all time. I only knew of their one U.S appearance at SXSW, but was unable to make and I don't believe they ever made it back again. Oceansize should have had Muse size success in America, but instead we have only the highly over rated Muse. R.I.P Oceansize.
Oceansize are/were one of the all time greatest bands. The depth of the creativity in their compositions and production knows no limits. Every song is an epic.
It's very interesting how a good number of my favorite bands use or have used 3 guitarists. Oceansize, Radiohead, Vessels, Tides of Man, EITS, GY!BE, The Rise of Science, Amia Venera Landscape, Minus the Bear (close enough).. and even my own band. Haha.
well , this is the 3rd night in a row singinng whole albums, counting that he shure did party all nights , the voice get tired too, remember its a celebration of an anniversary :D
The amazing DVD/CD collection "Feed To Feed" is brilliant. Absolutely the highlight 2009. My favourite is the 1. day. Superb, especially the 6 guitars on Massive Bereavement! Thanks for making that big gem available! Can´t wait to hear the new EP.
Oceansize at rock city tomorrow :D (3rd time seeing them) My favourite band, my favourite venue and hopefully they'll play this, my favourite song by them haha! and MikeoWar I think the way Mike sings in this version is incredible, he has an amazingly versatile voice for which I am insanely jealous of because lord knows I wish I could sing like him :). And the first "When I see, I see my signs" gives me goosebumps sounds that good!
Well he does a much better job on Frames live which is their other dvd and there are lots of singers who sing as well, or better, live than on the record. Daniel Gildenlöw for example. But it doesn't matter, Oceansize is pretty much the only band I've listened to for a few months... I never get enough of their music.
The vocals in Feed to Feed are quite bad at some points unfortunately... I absolutely love this band so it really saddens me to say this :P The singer keeps moving away from the mic when he sings which causes the volume of the vocals to go up and down frequently which kinda ruins it. He did a much much better job in Frames live. The instrumental couldn't be better though and the music is just.... Too amazing. Really looking forward to the new cd.
