This is awesome. Thanks for sharing this. Cool to see rare footage of guys that motivated me as a kid. I feel a little older when the og’s stop riding or sharing footage. Also when the fast guys retire. Life’s short, enjoy every ride🙏🏼
Crazy to think that maybe 15 years ago when I was alittle kid my older cousin would tell me all about twitch and how he knew him. Still to this day I will never forget my older cousin telling me all about him! 🤘 so sick!
Once I met The Godfather himself at The Big Nasty Hillclimb in Idaho. He was humble nice guy. He signed my infants Onesy. Still have it to this day. We drove from Portland, OR to see this event and Mike sure showed up. I watched him climb the hill and jump 80ft down a steep embankment. This guy has real deal free riding skills !
Nick C, you and I partied way back in the day....Riverside Metro days. You always talked about filming/knowing Metz and I never believed you. I eat that full plate of crow sir! LOL.
That shell reef double double is weak even by 90s standards! I know, I used to hit it, and I was a novice at the time. All good, 90 s moto was the best!!
Around this time was when my family were really into going to the dunes in their early 20s. Around 2003 is when everything went to shit so videos like this take me back. Thanks dawes!
@@barneyba Sorry or the long reply. Dad turned into a drunk and my uncles started running the streets getting into heroin. Mom held it all together since then. Got my YZ 450F last year and have been back in it since then. Times went to shit and now they are good again. 24 now so i got a long way to go and much fun to have lol.
That’s exactly the truth. I was born in 80 so that’s my era. I’m in south Alabama and we got some decent places to ride.... or used to before they started developing our fav spots so there’s less and less places to ride every day. Never had the $ to go anywhere awesome like where y’all live or go to. So glad we got videos to watch
@@1XMuleX1 Can relate. Left the shit for the USAF and just got back on two wheels myself a year and a half ago. Didn't like riding on the east coast where I'm stationed and brought it back out west to the desert. Every time I take leave to ride it's the best time of my life.
Damn Mike looks young as hell, I still remember in high school my buddy and I were blown away by Metz doing heel clickers and grabbing his front fender. Oh good times!
At 8.50 there is a part where they have the bikes parked up. If you look closely both bikes are totally coverd in plastics can't even see the head of the bikes, we're do you get plastics like that? Are they for stopping the sand getting or is it just looks? I can't find a picture of bikes like that anywere. ..
You put out the dopest stuff, just hands down the best. Period. Every time you upload it’s like a new crusty or terrafirma vhs just got in at your local Moto store..
Been trying to find these sand covers they have on the bikes. Anybody have an idea on what they are? What do you think Dave? My favourite video on your channel so far. 🤟🏻
Looks like same one to me, he pure wrecked his bike aswell on it. but was sitting there 2 broken legs and talking like it was nothing. It wasn't until the writing came on the screen saying what bones he had broke I was like fuk me that gotta be sore. He was sitting so chilled aswell,
I was wondering the same thing, at one point they park the bikes up and stand next to them for photos I was pausing trying to get a better look. The plastics seem to come way down covering a lot of the side. and earlier I heard him say time to start the beast I thought he might of been on a yz490,
Dave what happened to metzger back 3 mins 10 second in? I've seen that gnarly scar on a few videos looks like a burn, wen u Google what happened to metzger back it just comes up with the time he fuct his back jumping boat to boat, but I don't think that's the type of scar from an operation it's to messy ????
@@dawesvideos oh right, that explains why it's such a gnarly scar and looks like a burn, must of been in his racing days was it, thanks for answering 👍✌✌
