In this episode I make the first cut of material that will be used to construct the hull (you gotta break a giant project into small wins!) I discuss the advantages and details of the foam board material I chose to use. I quickly discuss the advantages of a twin keel and my change in plans for keel placement. Finally I lay out Stage 1 of my hull construction plan. There are multiple images and video used of the boat Baluchon, built by Yann Quenet. Baluchon is a major inspiration for me taking on this project, as Yann has proven this type of pocket-cruiser can be sailed across oceans and around the world.
