During the Stay Safe at Home Order, as a teacher, I am committed to maintaining a high level of creative and critical thinking engagement for my middle school scholars. To wrap up this school year, we will culminate our study of science fiction and dystopian literature by reading one of my all time favorite novels, Octavia Butler's "Parable of the Sower".

About Me: I am an educator, poet, playwright, community member, and mom in the city of Milwaukee. I currently hold teacher, principal, and director of instruction licenses for the state of Wisconsin. For the past 15 years, I have been using my skills acquired to create a culturally relevant classroom that empowers every student instead of pushout or mirror the systematic oppression experienced in society. The goal for myself is to teach with intentionality, leaving nothing to chance, closing real and supposed achievement gaps, and ultimately, making the world a better place through effective education.
