Both teams with better uniforms in this game than their current garb. I remember watching this on a 15 inch B&W tv lol.

Boomer Esiason was a great player while at Maryland. I had the privilege of seeing him play against Wake Forest one year, it was an offensive shootout between both teams, with Maryland prevailing for a close win. Go Terps!!

Can you post the 1984 Maryland Clemson game? 1987 NC State Clemson is one I been looking for too. I love to see Clemson get a beatdown, just does not happen enough with the powder puff schedule they always play.

This game was for the 1983 ACC Championship because Clemson, although they finished their season undefeated and beat Maryland 52-27 in Death Valley the previous week before this game, were on probation for 1 year by the NCAA and ruled ineligible for the ACC championship for both 1983, and 1984 for recruiting violations stemming from the end of the 1982 season. Clemson was eligible the Conference title once again in 1985. Also, this game was shown locally in the Washington, DC area on longtime ABC affiliate WJLA, which would be the DC area's TV station for Jefferson-Pilot's ACC Football Game of the Week and ACC Basketball from 1984 through 1993, and in the Baltimore Area on WJZ Channel 13 when it was still an ABC station. WBAL Channel 11, a CBS station at the time, had ACC Football each week from Jefferson-Pilot throughout the 80's.

My uncle was a Clemson Grad and worked with IPTAY in those days and he had season tickets at the 40 yard line on the home side. He took my Father and me to that game. I was shocked at how inaccurate Boomer Esiason was without pressure. Maryland was their worst enemy too.

it that onside kick was recovered by UNC, how would they attempt a FG with the goalpost gone?

Waterloo for Dick Crum and Carolina. They wouldn't sniff the top 10 again until Mack got them there in the 90s

Any chance you can post the 1982 Maryland vs. North Carolina game?

If I remember correctly, Willie Joyner had a monster day that day in Chapel Hill for the Terps. For the record, the Bobby Ross era uniforms are the best ever. Go back to them permanently & stop this 2,000 uniform combos nonsense.

@@ReverendBrown. Yes, he did. He rushed for 240 yds on 16 carries, including the 84 yard TD run to put the Terps ahead for good.
