Also I like Nick B...but 2 B totally honest for the past 20 (+) years of conga nobody does anything different that if you closed your eyes wouldnt sound like Mickey. Yeah Smoke won da King conga battle but whether its Smoke Nicky Wink Sauce Love Bo Beedy Rocket Rick BJ Pooh...etc ...sorry if I left out a conga playa BUT nobody is doing any style/sound that MICKEY hasn't done. I am 54 y.o old so I know the conga progression but I really cannot say any of these cats have done anything other than play a modified Mickey solo. Back in da 80's you could tell da difference between : Rock Steady/ Howdy Doody/ Go Go Erk/ Spanky/ Loose Booty/ Skin Tight/ T-Bone/ Walker Reddz /Go Go Timmy/ Foxx/ Lil Beats/ Bee Bop/ ....etc....WHY ??? Because Everybody used the Jungle Boogie blueprint but dudes tried to put their own stamp on it. And that's why Mickey didn't do the King Of Conga contest becoz why would he play against his own self?
