I am feeling kinda that way too. love to hunt but do not piss my wife off as much when I'm not heading out every chance. Now it's weather/temp

It's wind for my last big lesson. I knew but staying home for a week is better than running them off.

@@benrent6625 She was indeed a good freezer filler. She had a fawn and a yearling with her, so I know she's left her genetic mark. I'm not the least bit ashamed! I just recognize she's not a trophy, and I'll probably try a vertical bow next year. I put in a lot of work last year, and just didn't get one with the crossbow. So I'm very excited to have my first archery deer, and hope to get many more.

@@Crackhouts Any first deer is a trophy, My first deer was a 4 pointer when i was 12 and i was so happy, Now over the years iv changed my hunting a bit and pass on those smaller ones and try for bigger but thats just how i like to hunt

@@stevegermain1222 I planted the first part of September we had a good bit of rain coming thru so I hurried and got it done I was actually out in the rain putting out the seed lol thankfully it didn't all wash away

Fishes is correct if you're speaking of more than one species of fish. The same is true of deer. Deer if speaking only of white-tailed deer, deers if talking about white-tailed and muleys.

I went opening day was a huge mistake!

@@KillerKolt44 yeah believe me I wanted to get out opening day SO bad! I think everybody does ya know. All the years excitement building up to opening day. I actually kicked myself in the butt because I didn't go out until all my buddies came back and told me not one of them seen any deer! And they were all buckets of sweat from climbing and hiking with stands in 80° weather. I really started to follow this man's advice a couple years ago, and let me tell ya, it's paid off! I'm 52 and I've been hunting for many years. Thought I knew a lot. Turns out I really, really don't. I'm not no dummy, but actually "listening" and then "doing" some things he's talked about has had tremendous results for me. This guy is very smart when it comes to deer, deer habitat, and deer movement. I won't say I never will go out deer hunting when it's warm ever again. I just may. But the fact is if you listen to this man and go out at the "key" times, and in those "key" weather event situations, you will not only see more deer, but you'll have more shooting opportunities on those deer. I have strictly hunted the "WEATHER" for the past two years because of this guy with very successful results. This will be my third year doing it. I haven't been out one time yet this year. Waiting until the big drop in temperature coming this weekend. And if it shifts again and stays warm I'll be waiting some more. I promise you KillerKolt44 it will pay off for if ya give it a try! Wait until after big weather events. Rain, snow, wind, hail etc... Wait until big drops in temps occur. This guy is the best around in my opinion, and what makes him the best is that he openly shares "key" elements that add to being an all around great hunter. He doesn't want our money. And he actually helps hunters to save a lot of our hard earned money by sharing what doesn't work, or what's not going to make any difference in being successful, and by telling us all not to buy up all the gimmick crap that you don't need to be successful. Like he said, if there's a mature buck downwind of you, he's 99.9% of the time going to smell you...PERIOD! No matter how much of a product you buy and put on yourself. I love this guy because he's made me a better hunter. But more because he cared enough to openly and freely do that! Good luck this year my friend...wait until that temp drops significantly!!

@@peadookie I was hunting with a lock on type stand and stick ladder. On the morning of the fall I had climbed up and into the stand in darkness and did not notice that my top strap on my stick ladder had been chewed most of the way through. Later in the morning after I unhooked my harness from my short safety line I transitioned from the lock on to the top of the ladder. At this point I glanced down and saw the chewed strap and at that moment it broke. The upper two sections of ladder pulled away then bent over during my fall. I never lost consciousness and managed to radio my son who was hunting a few hundred yards from me. I also called 911 to get someone to come help me as I could not move and realized I was badly hurt.

The rescue squad showed up in about 15 minutes then they stabilized me where I fell while waiting on the life flight helicopter to land a couple of hundred yards from my location. The four surgeries on my shoulder were attempts to keep my normal bones healing but the upper humorous ended up failing causing massive bone spurs and more damage over the next 11 months. The sad thing is that people that know me and know my entire story still refuse to use a safety line. It's unbelievable to me when they've seen what I've been through.

@@peadookie The investigating game warden said the top strapped probably was caused by a squirrel. I had used the stand the week before and it was in great shape. Dang tree rats! 😁

Guys need to learn how to climb a tree.

They do move at night When there is a full moon. That would suck for deer if we could hunt after dark.

got my first bow kill this year. double lung didn't run but two seconds and tanked. Such a good feeling
