Important, before everyone starts scanning their eyes. There is a Ocular probe specific to this use. Due to cavitation and the delicate tissue of the eye.

Very nice presentation, several A-Scan to obtain B-Scan, what scan will give the same output in an OCT examination?

Thank you Henry…..Wonderful lecture…. Unfortunately my little granddaughter lost her right eye due to retinoblastoma…she was 18 months old. She was afflicted bilaterally but they were able to save some vision in the left eye..how much we still don’t know. Early on we noticed what we perceived was a strabismus and behavioral changes in Maddie. My daughter who also is a physician consulted a “world renowned” institution in Phila when she was about 8 months. She was told she had a “pseudostrabismus”. Negative Hirschfeld. The resident told my daughter to return in three years for further evaluation. A few questions…Can calcium depositions often indicative of blastoma be detected early with sonography? How early? Can small tumors be detected early? Would you recommend sonography prophylactically especially in the presence of subtle clinical findings? Thank you ……Bob Starner

But your second example of retina detachment shows the hyperechoic band floating, not tethered to the optic nerve which you said earlier that that’s important to confirm it’s retina detachment?
@SonographicTendencies
@SonographicTendencies 2 года назад
That example did not clearly show the optic nerve clearly. According to the physician who took it it was retinal detachment. A vitreous detachment would not flap around that much

@@lilbaybt228 you’re very welcome but thank you for asking I actually explained in the video cause I figured someone might get confused but I edited out for time! Now people will see this in the comments. And it’s always good to have differentials cause some things mimic others like the asteroid hyalosis that was though to be vitreous hemorrhage in the video
