Ode to a Nightingale by John Keats in Tamil / Bharath Ravindran / Bharath Academy. 'Ode to a Nightingale' is one of the highly admired odes in English literature. In April 1819, Keats was staying with is friend Charles Brown. A nightingale built its nest near the house. One morning Keats took a chair and sat at the grass plot under a plum-tree. He sat there for two or three hours. When eh returned he had some scrap papers. With the help of Keats, Brown arranged the stanzas of the poem in a sequence. Thus the ode is a spontaneous expression of Keats. The poem is highly sensuous. In this ode beautiful word pictures follow each other in succession. This poem is one among the varied glories of English literature.
