Just started, and my heart skipped a beat at seeing the vinyl for John Wesley Harding! In general, I like the idea of a series about individual songs and how your first choice was a song from A Live One, which I had just listened to yesterday and Squirming Coil was amazing, such a great one to end on, so its really cool to come here and find a video waiting for me here about it 😊 Definitely checking the Japanese concert up next! Wow, an entire record in one set? 😮 That's impressive. Btw, great choice of footage to use alongside that amazing piano playing by McConnell 🥰 And I understand what you mean about focused listening, you can focus and "comprehend" is the best word I can think of, something you were never aware of even in songs you thought you were very familiar with. Its not annoying, its something people should do more of! I have my own moments like this, but usually from gaming soundtracks oddly enough 😂 Like, the one I remember now is Welcome to Hell from Spec Ops: The Line, and I won't talk about it much to avoid spoilers in case you haven't played it - or care to know about it at some point... not through DSP I hope - and its sort of the main theme of the game, but the moment it plays and the way each note is... tiring, first so perfectly to what's going on at this moment.

Man I love reading your comments. Great insights as always man. Also re Spec Ops, I have never played it but picked it up on the steam spring sale and I plan on starting it real soon. I've heard a lot of great things about it. My next Ode to episode will be called "Ode to Hip-Hop." Real excited about this one. Also lol @DSP.🤣

@@sjeanmacleod Thanks so much! I wouldn't be so engaged if you didn't make such an awesome and insightful video in the first place Its good you got it when you did, if I remember correctly, its now delisted from Steam cause its got a number of licensed music tracks in it that ran out, an awesome selection too, I won't say any names or how they're used in the game cause I think its one of the best things about it and I don't want to spoil it, but I'm sure you'll recognize most if not all of them but you'll see how it enhances the game, definitely not something they can change - like the GTA games do - or remove altogether. The game itself, in my opinion, despite its basic gameplay, its actually a contender to one of the best games out of the 2010-2020 decade! I think I might put it in the list in the lower 5 personally, but other people thought it was pretentious and stuff. Again, I won't say anything to avoid spoilers cause its one of those experiences you get a lot out of going in as blind as possible, not unlike BioShock for example, but I have my own personal reading into what happened. I have actually planned for a LONG time to make a video about it, but its not going to be out soon, but the way I envision the video, yeah, that would take time to put together, so hopefully by this point you'd have played it and made up your mind about it, good or bad. Oh, nice. I'm looking forward to the next ode 😊 Naturally, I can't help but bring him up 🤣 Seriously though, as always, his playthrough of it was atrocious, but not the worst he did, but definitely still atrocious. The highlight for me was that his XBOX 360 was dying at the time and he wasn't aware of it and kept blaming the game that it had filters that ruin the graphics 🤦 It completely died before he finished the playthrough, but he had another XBOX laying around and use that to continue it. Naturally, all the deeper meanings and nuances were lost on him, he was just shooting from beginning to end and then moved on and never thought of it ever again.
