Everyone became good at it after he did it. I remember playing OBJ and you had go in circle first catch 2 hands second catch 1 hand then 4 fingers, 3 then everyone who made it that far would go back and forth slowly moving away from each other until 1 was left i was never good at it but i did improve playing it alot. I got really good at catching in PE class but there was a running joke that i couldn't catch in practice
@@ApexOdyssey everyone started learning 1 handed catching, but i don’t think you thought it through all the way, there was pass interference, plus the jump, the reach, and the catch. and don’t forget tucking the rock. that way that was all set up, no one will ever replicate that. if the nfl had a player logo like the nba, it would be that catch
@@ApexOdyssey I appreciate the honesty most ppl would lie lol... I was out of college ball when I seen this and said oh he really is him... He has that Chad Johnson it's just something about him you have to watch you know it's gonna be special
I wasn’t a Eli fan but he used to throw that hoe 🤣 he didn’t care if it was an interception or not lol makes sense why so many Giant WR made incredible catches with him if u really think about it.
I was at that game. People don’t realize how crazy it was to see it live. It felt like he had no chance at the ball before he caught it and that’s what made it even crazier because we didn’t really see the one hand catch that clearly until it was on the big screen.
OBJ has 5, 1,000 yard seasons. Mike Evans has the exact same time in the league with 10, 1,000 yard seasons. Mike has 94 TDS to OBJ 59. I literally just googled these numbers. We talk about OBJ and all these other guys but Mike Evans has been so so slept on for what he’s done in the league.
He’s such a great guy. His love for the game is admirable. I want his necklace that has all the different stones in it. It’s my favorite necklace of all time
@@ssg3legssan so bros not allowed to look up to someone? He can’t have an idol? Like bro this generation thinks any type of support is glazing smh 🤦♂️
“HIT ME WITH DA ODELL” I had a picture of the catch in my elementary school locker, will forever be my favourite player. Unfortunate he played for the giants at the time when he left I stuck around now I’m a giants fan and well yeah that sucks.
This is by far the greatest catch I’ve ever seen. I’m old enough to have seen Jerry Rice in his prime, Tim Brown, Michael Irving, Cris Carter (who had some of the best hands I’ve ever seen for a WR), Lynn Swann, and Steve Largent. These men preceded Randy Moss, Andre Johnson, Calvin Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin, and Antonio Brown. And this these men were just the tip of the iceberg, but none of them ever had a catch this spectacular like this. To put into perspective what Odell did, this man caught a 65+ MPH football over his head one handed, with 3 fingers. And what made the catch even more remarkable was that he just stuck his hand up in effort, and had the hand strength to pull the ball in with 3 fingers! Holy smoke!
Between the OBJ catch, Tyree helmet catch and Jefferson vs Bills catch, those may be the greatest I've ever seen in my life. There's many more amazing ones like both Edelman's leg catch and Julio's sideline catch in the SB vs each other but those three I mentioned to start are GOAT status imo. EDIT: Met OBJ at my job a few months ago btw. Super chill guy even though they beat my team later that same day 😭
Was out eating sushi w my girl & her family.. I was facing the TV & completely lost my shit watching.. hopped up yelling at the TV lol luckily they understood
I was stunned when I saw Odell Beckham at LSU literally catch a kick off with one hand while the ball was goin over his head I’ve never seen it before and haven’t seen it since
I saw this game live when I was a kid and when he made that grab and got up with his hands up I did the same shit and yelled out are yall not entertained and woke my mom out her sleep 😭😂😂😂🤝
@@K-Bronz15tyree catch was not better it was greater. It happened in a superbowl and changed the game but. To be a better catch it has to be more difficult which it was not
@@K-Bronz15 Literally saw both of those and OBJ catch is still more insane. Edelman was all luck & Tyree is not a better catch than OBJ but its still a great one. Just cause they were catches in the superbowl doesnt make them any better of a catch.
I have family members who live across the globe that know Odell's name. These are people who don't even know what American football is. They don't know Tom Brady, but they know Beckham. 😂
Man 2016 was a crazy year for sports Cam Newton was killing everyone, Peyton Manning was HIM, The Warriors broke the Bulls 72 win season, and Lebron completed one of the greatest comebacks ever. Take me back please 🥹
