The Convac 3000P vacuum cleaner with a material filter came to us with two faults: sparking and lack of power. During this repair, we cleaned the commutator and brushes, but it did not help, so we installed new brushes, which we arrived, but it did not have the desired effect.
The measurements revealed a winding error. The cause of such damage is usually the degradation of the winding insulation caused by difficult operating conditions or long engine operation time. After damaging the filter, toner filings got into and stuck to the motor winding. The lack of air circulation on the winding caused the insulation to melt in several places.
It was therefore right to install a new engine. The vacuum cleaner regained full power.
In the case of Convac service vacuum cleaners, most repairs are profitable and do not exceed 30% of the purchase price of a new vacuum cleaner.
