I believe there's one thing that's good about the new SW trilogy. And that is, that filmmakers finally have the confidence that they CAN do better, or at least as good as the 'big' movies. The fanfilms being released lately are proof of the will and ability of creative minds to tell stories in that universe. I'm not saying these are better than any of the new or old movies, but the inspiration that's coming from that is real. That's what we as fans should respect about everyones effort, even the crappy big budget and no budget ones.

It has war in the name, the clone WARS tv show was so popular for its representation of the horrors of war and how they effect the soldier but made it appeal to both adults and kids. Gosh, FINALLY a Star Wars Fanfilm where the Director told the Actors to NOT pretend the Blasters having recoil! because they dont! It seems like a minor thing to focus on, but i HATE it when Troopers in SW Fanfilms wave arround their blasters like a kid with an airsoft pistol going "pew! pew!" Good body language for all the Troopers and Rebels, Good Setting, and the movie isnt desperately trying to deliver more than they can effort. in my opinion thats great! SW Fanfilms dont always need special effects that end up looking horrible, or a Jedi or a Lightsaber Duel. This is really decent, yet well done! i'd have some really minor complaints considering the editing in one or two shots, but all at all it's really entertainig!

no, almost all the time han is shooting he just holds the blaster straight forward and the laser leaves the muzzle without moving the blaster. just check out the opening of ANH, when that very first rebel guy leans from his cover to blast the very first stormtrooper. his blaster aint moving a centimeter! some of them are, but just VERY VERY decent! almost non-visible!
@ECHenry
@ECHenry 6 лет назад
In the original films, the blasters were often real guns firing blanks (you can even see ejected casings in some shots). A blank round has an incredibly soft, almost unnoticeable recoil. So from that alone, we might say that "canonically", blasters have soft to no recoil. But undeniably, we see blaster recoil on numerous occasions. Go back and watch the arena battle from Attack of the Clones. The blasters are kicking quite a bit there. I personally think the most responsible position to take is "some blasters seem to have no recoil, while others do."

NPCs-SJW destroyed Star Wars: Although it is a matter of opinion regardless, Star Wars doesn’t need saving. A disgruntled and vocal fanbase isn’t going to be it’s demise. There is plenty of upcoming content to choose from. To say none of it holds good prospect defeats the purpose of identifying as a Star Wars fan. There is content for everyone; people just need to be willing to find it within the immense franchise.
@explodedweevil5537
@explodedweevil5537 6 лет назад
NPCs-SJW destroyed Star Wars They’re humans too. It’d be foolish to think they have heard none of the hundreds of thousands of insults hurled at them by fans, the people they created Star Wars content for. Said content is well-intended (if not generally accepted as quality material), and, yes, the movies are products designed to generate profit because Lucasfilm is still a company as it was before the Disney acquirement. Money-making is a valid motive that should not be criminalized. I’d be a bit bitter too and probably ignore much of what “fans” had to say about me (not to say I would not consider feedback). As for Solo, I think it unfairly suffered TLJ backlash. It was simply too soon after that movie and, for whatever reason, “fans” felt justified in boycotting the movie out of resentment for TLJ even though they are two different projects in their own rites. Sure, they sent a sour message to Lucasfilm, but at the expense of what was, in my opinion, an excellent Star Wars film. Not to mention that, because of the Solo boycott and underperformance, the Boba Fett movie is dead. Yea, that sure helped the franchise... Anyways, I went on a bit of tangent, but I hope you get my point(s).

Not perfect but as a fan film this is pretty damn impressive. Location, set design, effects, props, wardrobe, camera work, all really spectacular stuff. Like, wow. Acting was almost perfect which is as good as anyone can hope for in a fan film. Naturally, one will recognize the absurdity of risking a mission and killing your whole team for the sake of one peasant father, but it's not outside of the scope of plausibility. So that gets a pass. Also, not sure "Odyssey" fits, as the word alludes to a long journey full of impossible obstacles. This mission is just a single firefight. So maybe take more care next time with titles. But in all, still pretty wow'ed. Good job and EVERYONE involved should keep pursuing film. Promising stuff!!!

Yeah, and a direct reference to legendary Greek literature in a Star Wars universe is definitely misplaced. The only way to justify it would be to suggest that the relatively recent and terrestrial Homer named Odysseus after ancient, alien Star Wars lore. Otherwise, it's about as awkward as Luke quoting Shakespeare. Again, not a big deal in a fan film. Just something to remember when considering similar details in future projects.

A Star Wars fanfilm that really touched my heart. No Jedis, yaaaayy!! Seriously, this short film is truly a masterwork. Focusing on Rebel/Resistance grunts than on the grandoise Jedi/Sith duels, the rank and file also does the hard work too, if not the hardest. And I loved the scoring as well. Check out TROOPS, the classic fan film from back in the 90's, basically COPS but with Stormtroopers. The team that made it would go on to make IMPS: The Relentless, of which there are currently 3 episodes released. Both of these are heavily focused on the Imperial Stormtroopers. In addition, this fanfilm came out earlier this year and while not as good, is still pretty decent and Stormtrooper oriented. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jHUKHpnRo_s.html

wow. just watched it and I have to say that I'm pretty impressed. The acting was pretty solid for the most part, especially when it came to handling weapons. I appreciated the attention to trigger discipline and it was a good, if subtle, detail to make the rebels seem more like authentic soldiers. The lighting effects were really good, the sound design was good, and the music was well done staying original while also drawing heavily and being reminiscent of the scores from several of the movies. The CGI could look a little like floating PNGs at times, mostly when the final shuttle was taking off, but it wasn't half bad most other times. The voiceover was well recorded, but when the captain was talking on the ship, it still sounded like the voiceover and not like he was standing right there. I'd give it a solid 8: well written, well executed with just a couple things to improve. I've never seen a video from you guys, but this was a really good first impression

Say what you want about Rogue One but it gave us a totally new way to enjoy Star Wars. I hope Lucasfilm comes to their senses and realize that movies set around the original trilogy timeline's the way to go. The Resistance of the new movies just doesn't make sense to me.

@billclark5055
@billclark5055 5 лет назад
The ST plot is stupid and the worst Star Wars plot so far lore wise. They should have kept the New Republic, shown the new Jedi order, had Snoke lead a new Sith order, had more charismatic villians, had cooler technological aspects (active camo, jetpacks, seismic charges, ion cannons, quad turbolasers, etc), exotoc creatures, and more cool local factions and races. I'd also love to see new cool futuristic sports (remember pod and swoop racing). I'd love to see a speeder bike race, space race with multiple starships, star wars duels, arena free for all battles, star wars simulated team vs team maze shoot outs (set to stun) and star wars mma fights. I'd also like to see more new iconic cities and planets. I felt like Bespin, Coruscant, and the Prequels had many iconic planets that stood out. I enjoy Scariff in RO and Umbara in TCW as other iconic planets. I want to see more imperial special forces. Including a film about a squad of shadow troopers, a film about an imperial guard, a graphic novel about a squad of death troopers, and a video game about a squad of stormcommandos. I'd also like to see Rebel Spec Force marines, Rebel Assault Troopers, and Rebel Guerillas to return to cannon. I would love to see a pair of rebel honor guards in action in one of the Star Wars shows. This is why we need a larger variety of spinoff stories of Jedi, sith, soldiers, detectives, Senate commandos, main characters, side characters, smugglers, spies, and bounty hunters. But the one thing Star Wars needs to do now is alternate between eras. The AT should alternate between the PT, OT, and Old Republic era films. They should make no two films from the exact same era. Remember that the Old Republic could have 10 different timelines within it with various novels, character spin offs, video games, and films that can be used for each era. We could have fans of various eras, characters from each era, star wars would have something for everyone, and would bring many new fans to the franchise. The only catch is that Disney needs to chill with the over the top political messages.
@herrakaarme
@herrakaarme 5 лет назад
@GreenLanternSalem Movies are movies and games are games. If they had mysteriously made a good Jedi Knight movie, you'd have hardly recognised the plot based on the game. If they had made a typical Hollywood style Jedi Knight movie, you might have recognised it better, but it would have sucked beyond belief. Just making a movie based on a novel is hard enough, making one based on a game is extremely difficult. The technical demands for making a game a successful experience are different from a movie. Looking at the new movies, I'd have had about 0.5% trust in Disney pulling it off.

I love the film but my only gripe is with the main character's decision in his flashback. Yes it is hard to see a comrade being executed, especially with his son present, but the decision to stop the execution compromised his team and got more injured and killed than the one rebel. The rebel was prepared for death and yes I understand that his son would be alone, but for the sake of the rebellion, this was the lesser of two evils. I realize that he is still grappling with the consequences of his decision, but it irked me that he couldnt keep his feelings in check and ended up losing more than neccesary.

Parson of Interest that ultimately is the conflict of Quinn’s character. Yes, it was the wrong move, but he’s new. He’s emotional and he’s still fighting his inner purpose for being there. The ultimate responsibility of a soldier is to put your emotions behind you and act according to orders. Quinn, who’s new to all of this and solely on the mission for a specific tech purpose, has yet to accept that responsibility.

Cool short film, I quite enjoyed it. One criticism - the flashbacks at the end were completely unnecessary and superfluous. We literally _just_ saw those events in the preceding 3 minutes, so there was no reason to flash back to them, and I think it actually weakened the ending somewhat. At that point, I would have preferred just shots of the soldiers' faces, full of nervousness and anticipation. But the overall story structure worked well, the acting, scenery, and effects were all really well done, and the opening line about "it's not the blaster, it's what you do with it" was perfect. Nice job.

I was so shocked, it was amazing, it truly shows how someone can go from making cringy videos about cool stuff just because of their passion of it to work onwards from that and learn from their mistakes and eventually make some super crasy amazingly overly perfect great piece of art.
