Hi All! Here’s my quick take on the latest OEM deployant clasp for the Omega Seamaster rubber strap. Drop a comment down below and let me know what you think! Have a great day ✌️ -Charlie from WYS
Great video. We have this watch and the Tudor GMT in common. And the BLNR is on my radar, but looking to get a couple of other pieces first. I have the steel bracelet for the Seamaster and although I agree with your issues with it, I don’t mind it most of the time. I never thought of getting the rubber bracelet until seeing this video. The deployant clasp is a game changer. Thanks again.
Completely agree about the tang buckle/strap combination. The deployant clasp is far easier to operate, more comfortable to wear and more attractive. There's also no chance of an accidental drop while putting the watch on - I don't think Omega should be selling the watch with the tang buckle and strap.
If you don’t mind a 3rd party bracelet you should try the Forstner Oyster bracelet for the Omega Seamaster 300. I have one on my grey dial Seamaster. Very nice taper. Very similar to Rolex oyster bracelet. Only $185.
Yeah, I have my blue Seamaster 300M on the OEM blue rubber deployant. Its fantastic. The deployant rubber strap came out late 2020, but couldn't find it on the website. I stumbled across someone mentioning it, called a boutique, and ordered it. Its too bad the watch can't be ordered that way. And the rubber strap that goes with the deployant looks almost exactly like the rubber strap that has the pin and buckle system, but the holes are different.
I have the white dial Tokyo 2020 version where the hands and hour markers change colour from black to blue in the light. Absolutely gorgeous effect! The bezel insert is blue. Love it!
i have a leather strap with the same deployment and it works perfectly fine and it looks nice and people give me good compliments on the deployment.. it doesn't matter what material you use any band will do great.. not just rubber!!
I agree with everything you have said about the OEM steel band for the Omega SMP 300M. I purchased the same watch in Black and experience the exact same issues. I did what you did ordered the OEM rubber strap and deployant. Works well now.
No 5k plus watch should have a tang buckle. Want the omega diver chronograph in sedna gold bjt comes in rubber strap with tang which is trrrible for 12k warch.
Thanks for the video, I feel exactly like you do in that the OEM bracelet hasn’t caught up with the times. And that the OEM rubber strap is super fiddly to use. It’s been hard to find options, but this video is perfect 👍🏻👍🏻
Have same watches, white dial sea master, was just in a boutique in Vegas last week and they had white rubber strap w/ deployment clasp, white strap on white dial is gorgeous, tremendous wrist presence! Just got the new GMT two tone with jubilee in new Guinness color or Dark knight, if I didn’t just get that I would have shelled out the money for that white rubber strap, probably get it for my bday this summer, great vid, thanks for sharing
I have bought 2 of these (one for each Seamaster) in the last 6 months and they are very much worth it. One thing I will say is that with a bigger wrist this is absolutely the way to go. Fits very comfortably on my 7.5” wrist.
I have the full Sedna on rubber & Steel/Sedna on matching bracelet SMP's. Bought the OEM dark blue alligator strap with gold clasp (£3.4k Holy F!!!) transferred the rubber with gold pin buckle to my Steel/Sedna & put the alligator strap on the full gold. Perfect daily & dress look on the two watches now.
Finally! I've said for ages the rubber strap needs a deployment clasp instead of a pin buckle. All that is needed now to make this watch near perfect is a redesign of the helical escape valve.
I purchased the Omega Aqua Terra with an OEM rubber strap and the deployant clasp. I removed the deployant and put it on an Artem loop less sailcloth band. MUCH nicer, now!!
Looks absolutely amazing, some Omega stainless steel straps can be very clunky, with the rubber and deployment it’s a very elegant solution, and lighter to wear much more user-friendly, and after all these are sports watches , loving the white dial, absolutely beautiful, ❤️enjoy.
Hey, so how did you get to end up with the white dial one. What's your thoughts on the black one since you have or had both. I am stuck between the white and black dial and cant choose lol. Cereamic material and finish on black dial looks really stunning with its reflective gloss, and i am leaning towards the black for that reason. I am a little concerned if i am missing something out here from the white dial. Can you tell me haha what made you move away from black one. I have seen many sell the white to change over to black one but you the first one doing the opposite.
I don't understand why the original rubber strap can't be used. Once the tang is removed can't you just slide the keepers off? Love this watch by the way great choice.
One of the keepers on the tang buckle strap is molded into the strap itself and is titanium reinforced. Also, the holes in the tang strap are rectangular. Holes in the deployant strap are round and much smaller
Thanks for this got the same watch but got big wrists so I was using the last keeper they bought my strap back of me so much better with deployment clasp thanks again. 👍🏴
I own the blue SMP and also own the OEM rubber band, and while I like the comfort and looks of the all blue vibe I find that it degrades the luxurious overall look and feel of the watch, making it just plain ordinary, so I always go back to the bracelet.
Take a look at the Staib 3mm Milanese bracelets. I’ve been enjoying it on my blue SMP and find it so luxurious it hasn’t come off in many months. Great choice on blue dial. Cheers
That deployant clasp... I see now where Omega got the idea for the deployant clasp for their mesh bracelet. The mesh uses a very similar deployant clasp system.
You mention the end of the strap sliding out from under the strap when on the wrist (4:48). I have slender wrists so have a lot of surplus strap to yaw out from underneath. To avoid this I simply had one of the retainers inserted onto the strap and tuck the end of the strap into it to avoid this happening.
Thank you so much for sharing! I'm kind of disappointed I can't use the existing rubber strap that the watch is on. I bought the watch on a rubber strap and not a bracelet, I definitely don't want two rubber straps for this watch. Also, I love your Batman! I was allocated mine in May and it's getting almost all of the wrist time right now. Great video!
I have the Blue dial with blue rubber strap, but also bought the black strap with deployment buckle, so I have two options! Or you can just sell your original strap and make some of the money back.
I’ve been thinking about the blue deployant clasp myself. My concern is the holes and the pin. Could that ever come loose/undone? It looks to me like if it did, the watch could come off. Newbie here so forgive me if I’m way off.
There's 2 changes IMO that would make this watch look absolutely perfect! 1. The helium escape valve needs to emulate what is done in the Planet Ocean models. That is, the helium escape crown is the same as the mainspring crown. The 2 crowns being different looks a little odd. The helium escape valve crown being conical is an unattractive shape, so it needs to be the attractive shape of the mainspring crown. Also, because the helium escape valve doesn't have crown guards, it makes it look more prominent, which is a double whammy, as it's an unattractive shape that sticks out more because of the lack of crown guards. I would not only make the helium escape valve the same shape as the mainspring crown, but a couple of millimetres shorter to offset the prominence it looks without crown guards. 2. I believe there's an opportunity to make the watch face a little bit cleaner and more attractive. At the 6 o clock position, there's a small luminent marker below the date window, so that at night there's no big gap between the 5 and 7 o clock markers. To me, it looks a little unattractive, clumsy and asymmetrical having a small luminent marker in contrast to all the other same size and larger luminent markers on the rest of the watch face. I have a suggestion. Make the date window frame thicker and make the frame the luminent marker. It would be then the same size as the other luminent markers and avoid that tiny little marker below the date window that is at odds with all the other luminent markers.
Nope! I actually find the thickness and comfort to be the same between the two. I will say it’s a bit harder to adjust the deployant on the fly and sometimes it’s hard to dial in a more perfect fit. Usually it’s a bit tighter or looser for my wrist
For someone with a smaller wrist size who likes their watches to fit snug. Is there a way to adjust this new clasp so the watch sits firmly on your wrist with little to no movement or sliding down your wrist?
@@seavee2190yup, still that stupefying price here in UK. But worth it as he’s totally correct about the original tang buckle being difficult and uncomfortable to use.
Mind to tell me the hole-to-hole distance of the deployment style rubber strap? Would like to swap into a formex clasp with micro adjustment built-in. But can’t find the hole to hole data anywhere online. Thankss
The straps actually come in 3 sizes. You should go smaller to prevent that excess sliding out. Here are the part numbers: Black Rubber Strap Small: 032CVZ015754 - (18.575cm) Regular Length: 032CVZ015752 - (20.675cm) Large: 032CVZ015755 - (22.675cm) Blue Rubber Strap Small: 032CVZ015756 - (18.575cm) Regular: 032CVZ015753 - (20.675cm) Large: 032CVZ15757 - (22.675cm) Deployment clasp: 18mm: 94521883
Great video ! What your wrist size? My is 7 inch and I don’t know which length of the strap I should choose for my new SMP summer blue model. I noticed that deployment clasp is slightly up, not in the middle of the wrist. Thanks in advance
I did not mentioned that I’m planning to order customise strap from Liger so I’m thinking what length I should choose for strap at 6 o’clock and 12 o’clock tail so the clasp will seat approximately in the middle of the back of my wrist. Thanks Liger stadard is 125/85
I have to say, you have great taste in watches. I have the same two watches but the BLNR is the original 116710 on Oyster and the Seamaster is the Black ceramic on Rubber. In regards to the deployant clasp, to me it seems that it is a little bit too thick/high at the closure and that would bother me being that pronounced. Do you experience any issues with that regard?
Can anyone tell me what the hype is on the seaweed colour ? I want one and they said it's a wait game , so put name down . I just like it but is it some kind of future collectable or some thing , I'm new to watch game btw ..???
Hmmm. Not a fan of the deployment clasp. I feel it moves away from the sporty intention of the watch. I think the pin buckle is much nicer and in keeping with the SMPs kick arse/go anywhere/do anything nature. I have the pin buckle rubber strap on my SMP Chronograph (latest iteration, Grey dial). Generally speaking, I think the SMP looks really nice on the rubber. Really highlights the finesse of the watch head and lugs. I’m not sure I’ll ever put the bracelet back on. Maybe in the winter. 👍🏻
@@watchyourstyle I also have a 6.5 inch wrist and want to get this strap to replace the bracelet that i will probably sell. I wonder why did you go with the regular size and not small? That should fix the problem of the overhang.
Should have kept the explorer 2 and add a rubber b strap. Omega smp 300 bezel has no grip and the holo sound is a pass for me. Even Tudor makes better dive bezel than omega.
Omegas 120 click, scalloped, ceramic bezel is a thing of beauty. Refined and eternally beautiful thanks to the ceramic. I love mine. 60 click bezels, like the Tudor are awful. Feels like a Seiko. Defo one thing Tudor could easily rectify, but can’t as they are trying to keep the price down to appeal to the masses in the shopping malls. Rolexes Sub Bezel is the best in the business from a technical/field perspective. Completely agree. Costs money though!
That Seamaster rubber is absolute trash. 300 bucks for it is shameful on Omega’s part considering it’s the worst kind of Polymer quality they could have used. Seiko with their Silicone and Rolex at least have a relatively good compound in use. That rubber strap should be worth 5 bucks max. Clasp is alright but the twin triggers on Omega’s just feel low quality in general.
Completely disagree. It’s supple and doesn’t tend to make the wrist sweat in hot weather. It’s been designed extremely well. Much more so than other similar priced rubber straps on the market.
OEM its not for the OE (Original equipment) made for the brands, OEM it’s from others brands. Example: Cartier Strap OE made by Cartier Cartier OEM strap made by DELUGS I saw your vídeo waiting for the OEM BRAND >:( you make me waste minutes of my life for your ignorance
Then we have the AFTERMARKET those are accessories not based on the exact accurate materials or quality. DELUGS it’s OEM cause on their straps for santos (example) they use the same quick release system as Cartier Does
