keycaps do make a difference though! maybe not to the extent of the video, but sound profile changes heavily depending on the thickness and height of the keycaps.

The keycap profile doesn't determine the sound. It's literally just the shape of the keycaps.

Probably if the pcb is north facing, not a problem, just put some paper in the keycap stem

The profile has little to do with the sound. The type of plastic and if it is double or single shot matters much more. This bandwagon has run out of room.
