This is a very keen composition in the way it is built. The melody in the second part sticks right away in memory, a musical 'earworm'. The first part, if making a comparision with the visual artwork, does not have a clear theme (intended I think) as if it depicts the clouds and the green unfocused landscape in the foreground, a preparation for the second part with that good theme. Also harmonically some clever things occur in the combination of various instrument lines. The strength is that it sounds very natural and uncomplicated, while in a deeper analyse the setup is very clever. And as expected from you, it has a very high production value, mixing/mastering etc.
I just love your detailed in-depth answer, while it's the way my thought proces went. Do you also know what piece of music inspired me for this one, concerning the main theme? ;-)
Beautiful! So many of these entries have fair weather vibes. Not to take anything away from that, but I'm glad I'm not the only one who strayed a bit from that.
Hi there again, thanks and nice you're here. Agree, didn't think of spring at all 🤔, but more about possible feelings of a majestic couple high up in their castle... Guess I see you at the live stream 😎
This is beautiful! I´ve send my entry to the competition yesterday and purposely didn´t looked around, what other participants came up with. If i had heard this before i´ve lost all the motivation to even try to "compete". Best luck for you.
Thank you! Let's shake hands, while I don't listen any entries before either cause of being too impressed by other entries, and because of making sure there's no influence. See ya at the live stream I guess. Regards, Jeff
Goreous. Beautiful mixing, beautiful production, beautiful sounds, truly 11/10. I would love to be a shadow on the wall and learn how you mix and master these incredible pieces. Very, very well done.
Hi Lucas, thanks for your encouraging answer, very nice. In a ZOOM session I could show you how I mixed and mastered this one. Well actually it starts in the composing phase already ;-).
@@jeffhijlkema Thank you so much for the offer! I don’t want to give out my contact here publicly, is there a way you want me to reach out to you? I apologize for the late response, it’s almost finals week here at school, so I’m slammed busy 😅
Beautiful! Lovely melody and atmosphere that really tells a story and draws the listener in, and the mixing and production is quite stunning. Great work!
Thanks for your kind reaction. With these short pieces I'm always going for a 'simple' idea and structure that can be embraced easy by the listener, but still with the feeling of having made a little trip, where you forget time somehow.
Dankje! De afbeelding heb ik niet zelf gekozen, maar is aangereikt door een composing competition organisatie. 90 sec muziek schrijven geinspireerd op de gegeven foto. Deed me denken aan de schoonheid en troost van koningen & koninginen.
Maybe better use my revisited version; ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-z86_AAylB9g.htmlsi=QTlXx06xSFJD8tiF Great, you can use it, as long as you mention a direct link to my video and my YT channel. Would like to see your fact video result also! Regards, Jeff
