Fascinating to see Varney Air Lines appear here and there early in this reel. To this day, United considers Varney Air Lines to be its founding iteration. Training aircraft belonging to United's flight school operate under the callsign prefix "Varney" as a nod to its history.

Originally released at the end of World War II, in 1945 (at 2:06, mention is made of the first transcontinental air mail delivery service, "twenty five years ago").
