Love how you use light so creatively! And love that you mention Zack Arias' One Light Workshop DVD...I have that and about wore it out watching it! He's where I also got a lot of great lighting info! Love his explanations!

Always love Jasons work. As a side note, you can do the same with the AD600 I believe. I have the Flashpoint version, and the head comes off and can attach to the base via a cable. I always have the heavy part down below, and the head on the light stand.

Yup! I have the same for my ad600. But I still much prefer the elinchrom version. Also, the elinchrom is only rated at 500ws, but it still gives me more light output then the ad600. My guess is that the internals are just more efficient.

I always put my light stand as snuggly close as the DJ will allow me to his speaker stands. I haven't lost a light yet, but I haven't photographed 1000 weddings.

Haha they were all usually around 6pm (kids running around) or 1am (drunk adults)

I dont use the DJ table because my off camera lights are primarily used as back lighting, and I try to never take images toward the DJ ☺

When you say "You're not typically on the dance floor" Do you not do any coverage yourself during the reception or do you just avoid going on the actual dance floor?

I’m usually there for about 5 songs of the party which sometimes isn’t anyone on the dance floor. But yah I stand around the edges when there
