Him talking about resigning with San Jose was awesome. I think it really meant a lot to him that SJ was practically the only team that really believed in him and wanted him at the deadline. I think he also really loved that the locker room, fan base, and whole Sharks community embraced him from day one as well. I think that’s why he didn’t even entertain the idea of free agency after getting to SJ. This is the first place he’s played in the NHL where he fit in, and can just relax and play without some media circus.
The passion that he has to play the game and even his dad's passion is amazing. Love this guy! "Its great to be a Shark" that went deep! Thanks for being there for us EK9!!
@@JB-ih1nn Read my comment about him. I live in Winnipeg and am a season ticket holder, it's true what has been said about him. Sorry to say, we all had high expectations for him when Alanta re-located. He's been a bust on every team he's been on so far. His attitude truly sucks (at least back then it did). Let's hope he changes.
@mojo I’m pissed as hell at what the Sharks did. I think Evander has gotten a raw deal. The Sharks have had addicts & alcoholics on their rosters before & they were left alone to skate. But their LEADING SCORER is harassed. Sounds to me that the Captain was kissed that EK9 had his face on the website & 3 bobbleheads & was leading the team in scores, & he wasn’t. So he acted like a little bitch & went running to the weak ass coach. That’s what it sounds like to me. Every since first Pavs, & then Jumbo left the locker room, & PDB left, the Sharks have projected nothing but weakness. At that point, EK9 was just too big a personality for them. No offset. The Sharks are renowned for letting people be themselves. So they do that for everyone but the most famous black man in the league?? He’s not the Sharks first black player, but definitely the most high profile. And I noticed he did take shit for it. He was a nice guy. My fit bit dropped on the ground at Fan Fest in front of a bunch of Sharks players. Evander was kind enough to bend down, pick it up, & hand it to me. It wasn’t huge. But it showed he was a nice guy. The other players didn’t pick it up.
@@ScorpionBear_AG I think the stronger personalities of the locker room left the team, like Jumbo, & failed Captain Logan didn’t like seeing Kane elevated above him, so he & Hertl said Kane was a problem. What’s funny, is just a year earlier Hertl was talking about how great Kane was. Kane wasn’t leading the team in all scoring at that point though. In the span that Kane was with the Sharks, they put out 3 bobbleheads of him to giveaway. During the same time, they did ZERO of Logan Couture. Heck, even Kevin Labanc hit one over Logan. I think the little green monster came out & they bullied Kane off the team. Did Kane break some rules, sure. But so did Roenick, & EK65 & plenty of others, & they’re allowed to stay on the team.
I think people have a bad perception of Kane. I know he loves to gamble hard and live in that spot light and California fits his life style outside of hockey which makes it easier for him to come to the rink and enjoy the game. Sure, he is a bit of a hot head but I like it.. I like players who aren't dull minded and actually speak the truth and don't give a fuck to be forward instead of just sticking to the dull professional answer. Sharks are going to go back to the final.. calling it here Sharks vs Leafs finals. Kane looked like a real fit in SJ and he's going to bloom his career back playing for the Sharks.
Amazing production on these Off Days. One thing that I simply cannot understand. What do people find so fun about golf? It is the most boring sport, except perhaps snooker, or soccer. I also want to know more about Kane Sr.! Evander is extremely fortunate that he had such an engaged, intelligent, and far-seeing father.
When he played in Winnipeg, after practice he headed to the Subway for something to eat. Then it was straight to the casino at 10am...my buddy owns a sports card shop near the old Subway...

Always thought Evander was underrated and everyone judged him more harsh than other players. Couldn't do anything without getting ridiculed. Glad he showed all the haters he had the talent and only needed the right supporting cast.
Seriously i think he is going to be as valuable to the game of hockey as Tiger Woods is to golf...With that being said I like his quote when he said Its nice to be wanted but its even better when they want you. Now that's priceless.
